Euphoria (2019)
Pretty, and that's about it.
This is one of the best-looking television series' I've watched, and I've seen quite a bit. However, it fails everywhere television is supposed to shine. Very weak character development, it doesn't attempt to work episodically, and because there's no real 'plot' driving the narrative, it fails overall as well. There is a really well-done sub-plot in S2 but given the fact it has nothing to do with the main characters that seems to be another negative.
There aren't enough good things to outweigh what is lacking, or downright bad. After watching two seasons, while I don't completely feel like my time was wasted, I don't really feel much of anything. The show would improve tremendously if they brought on good writers and Sam Levinson took a backseat.
Wayne (2019)
If Garth Ennis Made a Television Show...
...It would be Wayne. It has the heart of a superhero story but the stylistic flare of a grindhouse action flick -- coupled with some (quite well done) Romantic Comedy elements here and there. One of the best new shows in months.
