Furious 6 (2013)
Exciting movie with a long runway
I really liked this latest Fast & Furious(6), I think it was the best one yet! The story-line was good, written very well, acting was superb (as always), and the action almost made me pee in my pants. It's worth seeing again and then buying the DVD for your own personal movie library when it comes out for purchase. Even with the enormously long unending runway which, for me, slightly diminished the realism of the story, I still enjoyed the movie greatly. The stunts and photography was beyond excellent, and if you've never been much of a fan of Fast & Furious, this one will turn you into one! Lastly, I loved the ending... for a grown man, I almost cried. Oscars are in for the getting!!!!
No Country for Old Men (2007)
Biggest disappointment in 2007
I really liked this movie and was on the edge of my seat all the way through it until the end. Without giving it away to those who have not yet seen it - I'm not sure you will like the ending.
The writers, producers, and director should make refunds for taking money for this film. The only redeeming factors was that the acting was superb, the cinematography was done very well, the plot line was very good, everything was headed for some academy awards until the ending - really left me hanging.
I have seen a lot of movies over the years and few really take my breath away... this one almost did that for me. My disappointment was confirmed on the way out of the theater when I heard most everyone else expressing the same. However it was funny that they also thought it had the potential to have been a blockbuster had they re-written the end a little better!
This one I won't see again!!!
The Sullivans (1944)
Hits deep in the core of your heart...
I understand this movie did not do well when it was released (1944). At that time, when American hearts were so tender with pain, it is understandable. Today, it reminds us of the magnitude of sacrifice of human life and grief it cost families across this nation.
I have acquired a deeper appreciation for those who went before us so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today.
I hope everyone who reads this will have the opportunity to see this movie. Though a classic it has not lost its ability to stir the mind and heart.
May God hold and keep all those who have lost loved ones in the conflicts this nation has faced in the past and today.
Secondhand Lions (2003)
A Moving & Powerful Film!
It has been a long time since a movie has grabbed my heart like "Second Hand Lions." It is a well-written masterpiece, masterfully produced, and the story is strong with imagination, wholesome, and a strong message of loyalty, love, and courage. Every young person needs to see this film.
I shall watch it many times over. Bravo, Bravo to Tim McCanlies, you are a gifted writer!!!! New Line Cinema definitely has a hit on their hands!!!
