NBA on ESPN: 15 Nov 2024 - Lakers vs Spurs (2024)
Lakers @ Spurs, 15 Nov 2024.
In-Season Tournament - San Antonio starts on an 11-0 run, led by Wembanyama. He gets stripped in back to back possessions though and AD back to back baskets to end the term, the Lakers up 1. Wembanyama tips the rebound to himself among three Lakers out to the 3, turns around and drains it, heh. Reaves looking for a foul every play and refs ain't giving it to him, so he bricks every shot... This needs to be the norm, he will stop flopping and try to actually make the shot. The Lakers up 8 at halftime. Wembanyama stripped again and LeBron the transition hoop, Davis negating a lot of Wembanyama's influence, the Lakers up 7 going into the 4th. Russell with a flurry of baskets off the bench, Vassell the go ahead 3, Davis hits back. The Lakers go on to close it out. They shot well, better from the field and 45% from 3, with more production at the line. The Lakers also took better care of the ball, with just 10 turnovers and +1 on the boards. Davis with an efficient 40 points, 12 boards, 5 offensive and 2 blocks. Russell 13 points off the bench, 6 assists and 3 steals. LeBron a 15-point triple-double, 12 assists and 16 boards, but 7 turnovers. Reaves stopped playing for fouls, 5 of 9 from deep, 6 assists and no turnovers. For San Antonio, Castle 22 points, 3 of 4 from deep, 5 assists, 1 turnover. Wembanyama 28 points, 5 assists, 14 boards, 5 offensive and 2 blocks, but 5 turnovers.
3. (Lal) A. Davis, 2. (Sas) S. Castle, 1. (Lal) D. Russell.
NBA on ESPN: 13 Nov 2024 - Grizzlies vs Lakers (2024)
Grizzlies @ Lakers, Nov 13 2024.
No Morant still for Memphis, they're without Bane as well. Huff unable to knock down open jumpers, has the Lakers up early. Pippen with good moments and Smart with immediate impact off the bench. Davis too dominant and LeBron with back to back 3's to end the term, kicking the margin out to 12 for the Lakers. It's pretty annoying watching Reaves get the whistle every time he plays for a foul. Meanwhile LeBron complains every time Memphis gets fouled to the floor... crazy. Edey good late in the half and the Grizzlies cut the deficit to just 1. Pippen blocks the Reaves step-back 3 and Jackson hits the 3 to go ahead. Wells with the and1, Memphis on a 13-0 run, before LeBron ends it with an and1 himself. Edey negating Davis, the big lineup having impact and Kennard with some timely 3's. Love the bench engagement by the Grizzlies, Knecht keeping the Lakers in it from deep, Memphis up 5 going into the 4th. The crowd frustrated with Russell's stagnating dribbling and bad shots, with Davis off in foul trouble. AD takes over when he comes back in though, including a couple of 3's and the Lakers win it. They shot better from both the field and 3, 49% from deep, Memphis more production at the line. The Grizzlies took better care of the ball, the Lakers +1 on the boards. LeBron with an efficient 35-point triple-double, 14 assists and 12 boards. Knecht 19 points off the bench, 5 of 5 from deep. Hachimura an efficient 19 points, 3 of 4 from deep and 7 boards. Davis 21 points, 14 boards and 3 blocks. For Memphis, Kennard 12 points off the bench, 4 of 4 from deep off the bench, no turnovers. Aldama 15 points, 5 assists, 7 boards and 3 steals, no turnovers. Jackson 29 points, 7 boards and 2 steals.
3. (Lal) L. James, 2. (Lal) D. Knecht, 1. (Mem) L. Kennard.
NBA on Bally Sports: 11 Nov 2024 - Kings vs Spurs (2024)
Kings @ Spurs, 11 Nov 2024.
Monk out for Sacramento. Sabonis fakes Wembanyama but still gets blocked, hehe. A sloppy game, the Kings up 4 at the quarter break. Sacramento playing without any size on the floor and Wembanyama pulling up for deep 3's, hitting them though. Collins blocks Huerter at the rim and Champagnie hits the transition 3 to put San Antonio ahead. Paul hits the buzzer 3 to end the half, the Spurs up 5. San Antonio extends the lead in the 3rd with a run and Vassell makes a 4-point play. Wembanyama's presence has taken Sabonis out of his offense and Fox to an extent too, it isn't just in the numbers. San Antonio up 13 going into the 4th and win comfortably. The Spurs shot better from the field and good from 3 at 48%, with hardly any free-throws by either team. The Kings took better care of the ball, San Antonio +7 on the boards. Wembanyama with an efficient 34 points, 6 of 12 from deep, 6 assists, 14 boards, 4 offensive and 3 blocks. Paul 12 points, 11 assists, 6 boards, 2 steals and just 1 turnover. For Sacramento, DeRozan 21 points, 6 assists, 8 boards and 2 blocks, no turnovers. Sabonis 23 points, 12 boards, 4 offensive and 2 steals.
3. (Sas) V. Wemb-yama, 2. (Sac) D. DeRozan, 1. (Sas) C. Paul.
Cold Deck (2015)
Down the rabbit hole.
Copy "Rounders" much?
Here the protagonist Bobby is unlikable and the writing and acting subpar. For those who haven't spent any significant time playing poker, there is skill in poker, but it only grants you a small percentage of advantage at best, the cards still run out. A big difference between Damon's character in "Rounders" and Bobby here is Damon was going to a cash game, trying to run up his money, willing to let go of good hands in risky situations and pick and choose his spots. Bobby disgustingly stole his family savings and committed a crime to afford the buy-in, in which he might be a percentage favourite in a winner take all tournament. The example at the end of the tournament with Chips is actually pretty accurate, not necessarily the cards, but the situation, as there's always going to be someone pushing back, willing to get all the money in behind. Just because you might be better and ahead, doesn't mean you win, the cards have to run out and this will happen many times in any tournament, multiplied by the amount of players and you will have to fade so many cards and have significant luck. So the plot is pretty stupid in that regard, because to expect to win a winner take all tournament is ridiculous. Now if you were to play it 100 times, able to afford the 25k buy-in each time, then yes the percentage advantage you have, would certainly yield the results. After losing, it turns into another poker game robbery, nothing well executed.
NBA on Bally Sports: 9 Nov 2024 - Jazz vs Spurs (2024)
Jazz @ Spurs, Nov 9 2024.
Vassell back for the Spurs. Castle with three early 3's, Utah successfully scoring in the paint, up 3 at the quarter break. Wembanyama shooting and making plenty of 3's and Vassell with a burst of scoring off the bench, but Utah up 8 at halftime. It's all tied going into the 4th, Wembanyama with consecutive plays on both ends. Clarkson starts to come alive late for the Jazz though and Sexton makes the contested step-back 3 and then Clarkson fouled on the 3 to close it out for Utah. The Jazz shot better from the field, San Antonio from 3. Both teams turned it over a fair bit, Utah +2 on the boards. Sexton with an efficient 23 points, 4 boards and 2 steals. Collins 15 points, 10 boards and 3 steals off the bench, but 5 turnovers. Filipowski 8 points, 6 assists and 5 boards off the bench. For the Spurs, Wembanyama an efficient 24 points, 6 of 9 from deep, 16 boards and 7 blocks, but 6 turnovers. Vassell an efficient 21 points off the bench. Paul 0 of 6 from the field however.
3. (Sas) V. Wemb-yama, 2. (Uta) C. Sexton, 1. (Uta) J. Collins.
Longlegs (2024)
Stop with this garbage...
In Longlegs, an FBI agent uncovers a series of occult clues that she must solve in pursuit of a serial killer.
This is such a stupid film, with random mind control dolls and Nicolas Cage being hysterical. Why every film he do be sadistic these days. Nothing in this film has any explanation or reasoning. You knew the other agents would die, going anywhere with her, even though she's not directly responsible. Soon as they know his appearance, all of a sudden he's instantly picked up, what's that... and the code, what's the point. Comparisons to all-time great film's, laughable, if it wasn't so mindless and boring.
NBA on ESPN: 8 Nov 2024 - Suns vs Mavericks (2024)
8 Nov 2024 - Suns @ Mavs.
Washington and Lively out for the Mavericks, who are key pieces in terms of physicality, defense and rebounding. The Suns on a 6-game win-streak early on, with Budenholzer at the helm. Nurkic hitting the 3-ball, Irving the contested 3 on former ally Durant. Booker with a nice pass, after just hitting the 3. Phoenix moving the ball unlike the past, putting up 36 in the 1st-term, up 10. Doncic always playing with some injury concern, but still draining deep shots. Jones impactful, Nurkic the steal. The refs review a play for a flagrant foul, but see no contact and yet Doncic's still rewarded with free-throws and not penalized for flopping... that's crazy, Phoenix up 13 at halftime. The Mavs bring it back early in the 3rd. Durant getting to the basket easy with Luka matched up, with the and1 and Jones a big contested 3, to kick back away, up 4 going into the last. Dallas goes ahead in the 4th and it's back and forth, bucket for bucket between Durant and Irving. Nurkic gets fouled before the buzzer on a put-back attempt and the Suns win it by a point. The Mavs shot slightly better from the field, Phoenix better from 3, Dallas more production at the line. Both teams took care of the ball, the Suns with just 9 turnovers, the Mavs +2 on the boards. Durant with an efficient 26 points, 5 boards, 2 blocks and just 1 turnover. O'Neale an efficient 18 points off the bench, 4 of 4 from deep and 5 boards, with no turnovers. Booker 13 points, 12 assists and 6 boards, no turnovers. Jones 17 points and 5 assists. Nurkic 15 points, 10 boards and 2 steals. For Dallas, Irving an efficient 29 points, 6 assists, 7 boards and 3 steals. Doncic 30 points, 7 assists and 7 boards. Gafford an efficient 15 points and 7 boards, fouled out.
3. (Dal) K. Irving, 2. (Phx) K. Durant, 1. (Phx) R. O'Neale.
NBA on NBA TV: 7 Nov 2024 - Timberwolves vs Bulls (2024)
Wolves @ Bulls, Nov 7 2024.
LaVine out for Chicago. Still cringe watching Giddey, picks up his dribble every 2 seconds, but continuously wants the ball back, among other things. The Bulls knocking down all their 3's early though, in a 3-point shootout. DiVincenzo with a good intercept and transition hoop, Chicago up 6 at the quarter break. Even Jalen Smith hitting a 3 for the Bulls, didn't know he had that. The bench huge for Chicago, up 9 at halftime. Vucevic on fire, with back to back 3's. Reid getting no stops and the Bulls up 5 going into the last. Minnesota goes ahead in the 4th and Edwards with back to back 3's. Gobert finishing inside, the Wolves go up double-digits and home comfortably. Both teams shot well, Minnesota marginally better from both the field and 3, without a miss from the line. Both teams took care of the ball, the Wolves +7 on the boards. Edwards with an efficient 33 points, 6 assists and 8 boards. Gobert an efficient 21 points and 9 boards. McDaniels an efficient 19 points, 3 of 3 from deep. Conley 14 points and 11 assists, no turnovers. Randle 22 points and 10 boards. For Chicago, Vucevic an efficient 25 points and 5 boards. White an efficient 24 points and 8 assists.
3. (Min) A. Edwards, 2. (Min) R. Gobert, 1. (Min) J. McDaniels.
Sniper. The White Raven (2022)
Waste of time...
After suffering a tragedy at the hand of invading soldiers in Donbas, an Ukrainian physics teacher seeks revenge. He sets his sights on an elite Russian sniper whose elimination could change the tide of the conflict.
Sniper The White Raven is an amateurishly and comically bad foreign film, with one-dimensional underwritten characters doing stupid things... and I love sniper films. I.e. The wife runs at militants with a rock getting herself killed, protagonist goes and gets the captain killed, after just learning he's a husband and father. Poor writing, poor acting and it's just dull, complete waste of time.
NBA on NBA TV: 4 Nov 2024 - Pacers vs Mavericks (2024)
Pacers @ Mavs, 4 Nov 2024.
Kidd verses his Championship coach Carlisle. Lively out for Dallas, Nesmith Indiana. Haliburton who's been struggling, makes from the parking lot and the Pacers on a run out the gate. I think Kidd challenged solely to encourage Luka playing defense and so he could be educated, refs giving him free-throws for nothing anyway. The Mavs bring it back pretty quickly, but Indiana keep making 3's, up 7 at the quarter break. Washington a good recovery block, the Mavs hit the lead, the Pacers back up 4 going into halftime. Klay making, Turner back to back 3's. Luka complains on every play, I'd have a hard time not giving him tech-foul, Indiana up 1 going into the last. Some defense in this game wouldn't go astray. Washington can't hit a thing and the Pacers get it done down the stretch, with Mathurin good in the 4th. Both teams shot well in a high-scoring game, Indiana better from the field, Dallas marginally better from 3, with more production at the line. Turner with an efficient 30-ball, 5 of 8 from deep and 11 boards. Haliburton 25 points, 12 assists, 4 boards and 2 steals. Siakam 23 points and 6 boards, just 1 turnover. Mathurin 16 points and 7 boards, no turnovers. For Dallas, Marshall an efficient 20 points off the bench, 8 of 9 from the field, 6 assists and 5 boards, with no turnovers. Luka 34 points, 15 assists, 7 boards and 2 steals. Irving 27 points and 5 boards.
3. (Ind) M. Turner, 2. (Dal) N. Marshall, 1. (Ind) T. Haliburton.
NBA Hardwood Classics: 1996 Nov 4 - Rockets vs Jazz (1996)
Rockets @ Jazz, Nov 4 1996.
Olajuwon carving up shot-blocker Ostertag early, but it's all tied at just 19 at the quarter break. Houston turning it over and Stockton making in the 1st-half, Utah up 7. Barkley blocks Malone, the margin remains going into the 4th. Houston's shooters not hitting, free-throws either, but consecutive stops and hit the lead late. Maloney having a stinker, misses the layup, Foster puts Utah back ahead, then Barkley back and Olajuwon gets the game-winning stop. A very low-scoring game, teams score this much in a half sometimes these days, the Jazz held to 9 in the final term. Utah shot slightly better from the field, the Rockets from 3 and with much more production at the line. Houston turned the ball over a lot, but were +6 on the boards. Olajuwon with 23 points, 8 boards and 2 blocks. Barkley with an inefficient 9 points, 20 boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks, 5 turnovers. For Utah, Malone 16 points and 14 boards, just 1 turnover.
3. (Hou) H. Olajuwon, 2. (Hou) C. Barkley, 1. (Uta) K. Malone.
Caddo Lake (2024)
I'm going going, back back, to Caddo Caddo.
When an 8-year-old girl disappears on Caddo Lake, a series of past deaths and disappearances begin to link together, altering a broken family's history.
At first when watching, you're wondering why is this even a film, but it becomes an evoking piece in the end, whether it's well crafted or not. As a film it's disappointing in other aspects though, as it's fully consumed by the mystery, lacking substance. Good performances by both leads, O'Brien in another time altering film, always reliable. A major problem I have with it though, is that the mother said he supposedly ran off with someone to her daughter, which was her daughter of the exact same appearance, who is standing in front of her as she says it...
NBA on NBA TV: 31 Oct 2024 - Rockets vs Mavericks (2024)
Rockets @ Mavs, Oct 31 2024.
Both teams turning it over in the 1st-term, Dallas missing easy buckets. The Rockets with a sizeable 13-point lead at the quarter break. Despite the big lead, Green too fast for his own good missing layups and Sengun unable to protect the rim. The Mavs having a shocking 1st-half, Houston doesn't really capitalize though, still up 13. Sengun drawing a lot of fouls on the Mavs bigs and Dallas still can't make or rebound, the margin out to 20, up 16 going into the last. The Mavs cut into the deficit, started by Kyrie. Green with consecutive buckets to stem the tide. Dallas comes again, but Green again with back to back buckets and Houston gets the win. The Mavericks in the end shot better from both the field and 3, despite the loss. Both teams took care of the ball after the 1st-term, the Rockets just 8 turnovers and +13 on the glass, with 18 offensive. Jalen Green with big baskets down the stretch for Houston, for 23 points and 12 boards. Sengun an inefficient 17 points and 12 boards, 6 offensive, just 1 turnover. For Dallas, Irving an efficient 27 points, 5 of 6 from deep, 7 assists and 8 boards, 4 offensive. Doncic 29 points and 5 boards, 1 turnover.
3. (Dal) K. Irving, 2. (Hou) Ja. Green, 1. (Hou) A. Sengun.
NBA on Bally Sports: 30 Oct 2024 - Knicks vs Heat (2024)
Knicks @ Heat - 30 Oct 2024.
Should be seeing Butler going at Towns as the lone big in this, after he left Minnesota because they paid Towns when he has no interest in winning. The Heat going to Jovic on the block early though. Towns taking and making in the 1st-term, but Miami up 6. Good perimeter defense being played by both teams, Smith consecutive stops. Herro doing the Heat scoring, Bryant back to back 3's, Miami remains up 6 at the half. New York go on an 11-0 run, despite good Heat defense. Towns having a game, if he played like this in Minnesota they would've been in the Final. No interaction with Butler however, very quiet thus far. A good turnaround by the Knicks, up 7 going into the last. Rozier a couple of 3's in the 4th and a nice alley-oop connection between Herro and Butler. New York responding every time though and Butler and Adebayo not having impactful game's, not making Towns have to defend, the Knicks home comfortably. New York shot better from the field, 3 and at the line, 45% from deep. Both teams took care of the ball, the Knicks +3 on the boards. Towns having the best game of his life, with a super-efficient 44 points and 13 boards. Hart 10 points, 6 assists and 14 boards, no turnovers. Bridges 17 points, 6 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks, just 1 turnover. For Miami, Herro a super-efficient 34 points, 7 assists and 5 boards, just 1 turnover.
3. (Nyk) K. Towns, 2. (Mia) T. Herro, 1. (Nyk) J. Hart.
The NBA on TNT: 29 Oct 2024 - Mavericks vs Timberwolves (2024)
Mavs @ Wolves, Oct 29 2024.
Edwards with back to back 3's early and he adds 4 more in the 1st, for 24 points, Minnesota up 8. Reid with a couple of 3's off the bench, the Wolves on fire from deep, but Dallas right there still and soon even hit the lead, the Mavs up 2 at halftime. Minnesota giving up easy transition hoops and Dallas pulls away, out to an 11-point lead going into the 4th. An important contested 3 by McDaniels to keep the Wolves in touch. Irving keeping Minnesota at bay though, hits the dagger contested 3 and then Doncic the closing step-back from the car park for the Mavs. Minnesota shot well despite the loss, better from both the field and 3, 49% from deep. Dallas took much better care of the ball though, with just 10 turnovers, the Wolves +2 on the boards. Irving with an efficient 35 points, 5 assists and 4 boards, just 1 turnover. Washington 17 points, 8 boards, 4 offensive and no turnovers. Doncic an inefficient 24 points, 8 assists and 8 boards. For Minnesota, Edwards an efficient 37 points, 7 of 13 from deep and 6 boards, but 5 turnovers. Randle 20 points, 7 assists, 7 boards and 2 steals.
3. (Dal) K. Irving, 2. (Min) A. Edwards, 1. (Dal) P. Washington.
NBA on NBA TV: 28 Oct 2024 - Bucks vs Celtics (2024)
Bucks @ Celtics, 28 Oct 2024.
Milwaukee coming off a poor loss to Brooklyn, two-time Champ Holiday facing the team that stupidly traded him away. Horford swats Giannis at the rim and White 7-straight points to get the Celtics on the board after a slow start. Lillard with the and1 and Trent makes a 3 with 4 seconds on the clock on the inbound to end the 1st-term, the Bucks up 1. Pritchard makes from the car park and then another, why not one more, for 11-straight points. Milwaukee still maintaining the lead however, with Lopez making shots close to the basket, up 3 at the half. Old man Horford, again blocking Giannis at the basket. Giannis keeps attacking though and gets an and1 soon after. Tatum having an off game, White back to back 3's however. Pritchard another 3 to end the 3rd, putting Boston up 8. Brown the mid-range and1, the Celtics extend the lead in 4th and home comfortably. Boston shot better from the field and 3, the Bucks with more production at the line. The Celtics took better care of the ball, Milwaukee +5 on the boards. Pritchard with a super-efficient 28 points off the bench, 8 of 12 from deep, 5 boards and 2 steals. Holiday an efficient 21 points and 4 boards, with 1 turnover. Brown 30 points and 6 boards. For the Bucks, Lillard an efficient 33 points, 7 assists, 7 boards and 2 steals, just 1 turnover. Lopez 13 points, 6 boards, 4 offensive, 2 steals and 4 blocks. Giannis 30 points, 6 assists and 10 boards, but 7 turnovers.
3. (Bos) P. Pritchard, 2. (Mil) D. Lillard, 1. (Bos) J. Holiday.
Am I Racist? (2024)
Not funny enough.
In Am I Racist, a man investigates diversity, equity and inclusion practices, exposing absurdities through undercover social experiments.
I mean the rating of these reviews are pretty damn high. Yes the world's messed up and it's funny in spots, I just don't think it has enough substance or is funny enough. I won't rate something high just to send a message and this Matt Walsh just isn't that likeable to me. I like the angle of approach in trying to have discussion from within and turn it on them, a lot of it is just pointless though. Also, can you put people in a film that you've tricked who don't want to be in it with no consequence, I dunno.
NBA on YES: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets 10/27 (2024)
Bucks @ Nets, 27 Oct 2024.
Middleton still out for the Bucks, effeminate Simmons actually on the floor for Brooklyn. The Nets with an early 9-0 run, Milwaukee struggling verse one of the cellar dwellers, Brooklyn up 2 at the quarter break. Schroder back to back 3's, the Bucks defense still not at a contending level, their second pass to the referee out of bounds too, quite rare. The Nets go on a 10-0 run and lead by 3 at the half. Brooklyn continues to hold a lead through the 3rd, Thomas with 14 for the term, up 5 going into the 4th, without Simmons playing that much. Thomas the and1 to put the Nets up 14. Simmons still the same... a disgrace to Australians, his teammates and I'm sure the Brooklyn fans as well, helps Milwaukee, but the lead too significant, the Nets win it comfortably. Not great shooting, the Bucks better from the field, Brooklyn from 3. The Nets took much better care of the ball and were +4 on the boards. Schroder with an efficient 29 points, 5 of 8 from deep, 6 assists and 4 boards. Thomas 32 points, 5 boards and 2 steals. Claxton 10 points, 5 of 6 from field, 11 boards, 5 offensive and 2 blocks, off the bench. For Milwaukee, Giannis 22 points, 7 assists and 12 boards.
3. (Bkn) D. Schroder, 2. (Mil) G. Antet-mpo, 1. (Bkn) C. Thomas.
NBA Hardwood Classics: 1992 Playoffs - R1G2 - Heat vs Bulls (1992)
Playoffs - R1G2 - Heat @ Bulls, Apr 26 1992.
Pippen with the intercept and transition hoop right off the bat. Chicago with a lot of activity early and go on a 10-0 run, up 12 at the quarter break. The Bulls kick it out to 20 in the 2nd, forcing turnovers and getting some bench scoring. Miami struggling to make anything outside the paint, Chicago up 23 at the half. Jordan not missing his though, with the Bulls shooting a high percentage from the field. They take a commanding 29-point lead into the 4th and win comfortably in a one-sided affair, to take a 2-0 series lead. Chicago only attempting the one 3-pointer for the game, with more production at the line. Both teams with high turnovers, the Bulls taking slightly less, but dominant on the glass, +23. Pippen with an efficient 30 points, 5 assists, 4 boards and 4 steals, just the 1 turnover. Jordan 33 points, 6 assists, 13 boards, 4 offensive and 2 steals. Grant 11 points, 10 boards and 2 steals. For the Heat, Seikaly 26 points and 7 boards, but 5 turnovers.
3. (Chi) S. Pippen, 2. (Chi) M. Jordan, 1. (Chi) H. Grant.
NBA on Bally Sports: 26 Oct 2024 - Celtics vs Pistons (2024)
Celtics @ Pistons, 26 Oct 2024.
Haven't watched the Pistons in some time, you know what they say, one team's trash, another team's treasure. Tatum back to back to back 3's and a contested flush early, but picks up fouls as well. Cunningham with a nice rundown block, Pritchard back to back 3's. Boston putting up 42 in the 1st-term, up 11. Pritchard back to back 3's again and Horford likewise to put the Celtics up 20. Detroit goes on an 11-0 run though, Ivey good for them, the margin 11 at the half. Brown gets away with carrying a lot, when he walks back to setup an attack or dribble pull-up, it's crazy they don't call it. Cunningham a nice contested dunk and the Pistons start to take it to Boston. Harris ruins it for them, as he often does, but they're still able to hit the lead soon after. Tatum the isolation block on Cunningham, the Celtics up just 1 going into the last. White with the and1, before Boston goes on a drought. Holiday back to back clutch 3's though and the Celtics lock-up Detroit, including White with a huge block on a Cunningham stuff-attempt and Boston make their free-throws to close it out like the Champions they are. Detroit shot better from the field, the Celtics better from 3 at 46% and with more production at the line. Boston also took better care of the ball, the Pistons +7 on the boards. Tatum with an efficient 37 points, 4 boards and 2 steals, just 1 turnover. Horford an efficient 17 points, 5 boards and 3 steals, no turnovers. Pritchard an efficient 19 points off the bench, 5 of 7 from deep, no turnovers. White 17 points, 6 boards and 3 blocks, 1 turnover. For Detroit, Ivey 26 points, 6 assists and 5 boards, just 1 turnover. Duren an efficient 15 points, 7 of 7 from the field, 9 boards and 2 blocks. Cunningham an inefficient 21 points, 10 assists, 7 boards and 4 blocks, with 7 turnovers.
3. (Bos) J. Tatum, 2. (Bos) A. Horford, 1. (Det) J. Ivey.
NBA Hardwood Classics: 1992 Playoffs - R1G1 - Heat vs Bulls (1992)
Playoffs R1G1 - Heat @ Bulls, Apr 24 1992.
No real star player on the Miami team, too easy for Jordan with Shaw to attack. MJ comes across for the off-ball block and then an array of moves offensively. The Heat up 3 at the quarter break however, with the Bulls turning it over. Back to back 3's and a long deuce by Askins. Jordan with a variety of dunks, gets the and1 on the drive from outside. Pippen with a big attack and contested flush, Chicago up 7 at the half. Jordan another and1 to start the 3rd and MJ with a good find to Paxson for the shot. Michael with all the moves in this one giving the Bulls a 14-point lead going into the last and home comfortably. Jordan a monster efficient 46-points, 9 assists, 11 boards and 3 steals. Grant 15 points and 7 boards, 5 offensive, no turnovers. Pippen 11 points, 11 assists, 6 boards and 3 steals, just 1 turnover. For Miami, Smith 19 points, 7 assists, 3 steals and no turnovers.
3. (Chi) M. Jordan, 2. (Chi) H. Grant, 1. (Mia) S. Smith.
NBA on ESPN: 25 Oct 2024 - Suns vs Lakers (2024)
Suns @ Lakers, 25 Oct 2024.
Phoenix adding some point-guards this season and new coach Budenholzer. The Suns moving the ball and making 3's, put up 38 and out to a handy 15-point quarter-time lead. The Lakers defense not too bad though, they cut the deficit to 9 by halftime. Reaves back to back 3's, then LeBron likewise and the lead all but gone. Chemistry between Reaves and the refs blowing the whistle is crazy... Jones with good contribution for Phoenix, the Lakers up 2 ending the 3rd. The Lakers go further ahead, Reaves having a good game. A 30-point turnaround, Durant with the late and1, but the Lakers get it done. Both teams shot extremely well, the Lakers better from both the field and 3, 52% from deep. The Lakers took better care of the ball as well and +3 on the boards. Reaves with an efficient 26 points, 5 of 7 from deep, 8 assists, 4 boards and 3 steals. Davis an efficient 35 points, 8 boards and 2 blocks, with just 1 turnover. LeBron 21 points, 8 assists and 4 boards. For the Suns, Durant an efficient 30 points, 6 assists and 4 boards.

NBA on ESPN: 25 Oct 2024 - Pacers vs Knicks (2024)
Pacers @ Knicks, Oct 25 2024.
Towns always celebrating uncontested plays... Bridges making shots in this one. Siakam and Mathurin doing the bulk of the scoring for Indiana, New York up 1 at the quarter break. Turner the and1 in the 2nd, but it's the Knicks who go up double-digits, with Haliburton yet to score. The Pacers go to sleep defensively for a bit and the margin out to 16 at the half. Haliburton starting to force and still can't make, the deficit quickly blown out to 31 going into the 4th, with no response. New York shot better from both the field and 3, with more production at the line, Indiana just 10% from deep. The Knicks also took better care of the ball and +10 on the boards. Brunson 26 points, 5 assists and 5 boards, just 1 turnover. Towns 21 points, 15 boards, 4 offensive and 2 blocks, no turnovers. Bridges an efficient 21 points and 5 assists, 1 turnover. Hart 20 points and 10 boards. For Indiana, Mathurin 20 points off the bench, with 1 turnover. The Pacers backcourt with all of 2 points, Haliburton 0 of 8 from the field.

Boyz n the Hood (1991)
Compelling and powerful!
Boyz n the Hood follows the lives of three young males living in the Crenshaw ghetto of Los Angeles.
The most compelling and powerful urban drama of its generation. With strong performances all-round, though in particular Cuba Gooding Jr, Ice Cube and Lawrence Fishburne. Perhaps career-best from all three, credit to Baha Jackson as young Doughboy as well, he's good. Additionally there's quality music provided by Ice Cube. The film doesn't hold back in any area at all and is all the better for it. Hell the same issue still applies today without father's in the home. Both Regina King and Nia Long appear in other films with Ice Cube and Gooding Jr.
The NBA on TNT: 24 Oct 2024 - Spurs vs Mavericks (2024)
Spurs @ Mavs, Oct 24 2024.
Chris Paul joins Wembanyama in San Antonio, along with Harrison Barnes. Thompson joining the Mavericks. Klay starts well on both ends, Barnes with back to back 3's and a deuce. A low-scoring opening term, the Spurs up 2. Don't think they want Klay dribbling looking for his own show instead of giving it to Luka though, with San Antonio moving the ball and Dallas forcing. Champagnie with a good baseline attack on Lively, Hardy back to back 3's and the margin remains 2 at halftime. The Mavs pull away in the 3rd with a bunch of consecutive 3's and Wembanyama keeps jacking them up despite not coming close. Victor and Paul eventually make and Dallas up 7 going into the 4th. Kleber with a good block on Sochan, Doncic back to back 3's and the Mavs kick the lead out to 20 and win it. San Antonio shot better from the field, Dallas better from 3. The Mavs took better care of the ball, with just 9 turnovers, the Spurs +2 on the boards. Thompson with an efficient 22 points in his Mavericks debut, including 7 boards, 3 steals and no turnovers. Lively 15 points, 6 assists and 11 boards, 4 offensive. Doncic 28 points, 9 of 25 from the field, 8 assists and 10 boards. For the Spurs, Barnes 17 points, 7 of 10 from the field, no turnovers. Champagnie 18 points, 7 boards and 2 blocks.
