Ocean's Twelve (2004)
Well... SPOILERS
I highly anticipated this movie, especially since I enjoyed Oceans 11 quite a bit. In order to make this a two hour movie, unnecessary scenes were included that were five minutes in length. Also, the plot was very complicated to follow. I really cannot compare this movie to Oceans 11, because it's not the same style, and it's not based in the same country. I felt that the story was extremely complicated, and anyone who wanted to simply watch the movie cannot follow it. I didn't even want to try and make sense out of it once I finished the movie. I often found myself looking at my watch on many scenes, wondering when they would move along. This movie wasn't what I expected, and I doubt that it will be what you expected too.
NOTE: BELOW CONTAINS SPOILERS, WHICH COULD RUIN THE MOVIE.
Parts of this movie were not needed, such as the long "Laser" scene which lasted about five minutes. Since they already completed the heist, was there a need to go back and have Julia Roberts pretend to be herself so they could pretend to get the egg? Was there a purpose for the crew getting arrested? It was also very fortunate that Linus had a mom who was in Interpol. This movie left too many questions to be answered.
National Treasure (2004)
Good Film
After watching this movie, it is decent enough for the entire family. Its well worth sitting through the entire movie as new plots unfolds. This movie is packed with entertainment, and the choice of the cast is excellent. There are a few problems with the storyline, but it's best to just sit back and enjoy the movie as the mystery unfolds. You will want to cringe as soon as the Declaration of Independence goes under fire, and share the laughs with the cast. Although it may be complicated to understand for some of your kids, I would recommend bringing the entire family to see this one. This movie is definitely worth seeing in theaters, even if it is expensive to view.
Man on Fire (2004)
Decent Film
Man on Fire was a decent film, and the writing was good. The camera work in this film wasn't great, and did need some improvement. I was very pleased with the characters, and with this movie being two hours, it did go into detail on the story and characters. It's interesting to see a different kind of life in Mexico and the kind of culture it possesses. After about the first half, the story became more predictable and was easy to figure out the ending. Denzel Washington did a very good job in portraying a body guard, and the overall cast was very good. Other than a few flaws, this movie is a good choice.
This movie receives 4 out of 5 stars.
Vegas Vacation (1997)
Vegas Vacation 8/10
I truly believe this was a great addition to the Vacation Series. The quirky comments is what makes this movie a winner. It's a great movie to watch, especially due to all of the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas that appears in this movie. Due to the fact that they shot this movie on location, it give it a different "look" and "feel". I'm not really crazy about their choice for the Griswold kids, but it's still an excellent movie. For some reason I can't turn it off each time it comes on, I have watched this movie over 50 times. If you give it a chance, you will enjoy it too. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a little comedy. The whole vacation series is a great one to watch.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
My Favorite Vacation!
Christmas Vacation was the best of all! It's interesting to see Clark have his "blow ups" with the family. No other vacation comes close. This vacation has a great story, and this time the whole family returns. There is a mixture of comedy and sadness in this movie, from Clark watching the home videos to cussing out the entire family. I would recommend purchasing the DVD with the commentary, it's interesting to listen to everyones point of view and how the movie was made. This movie is absolutely hilarious! I have to watch it several times, I can't watch it just once. If you are looking for the best vacation of them all, this is the one! This movie has the usual great cast and a great story. This is the best vacation to see.
Miami Vice (1984)
Great Series
Miami Vice is a great series, featuring a good cast. This show truly has an 80's look to it, with the pastel suits and hairdos. Although this show only ran for five years, it was a benchmark in the 80's. John Diehl quit because of salary reasons, which was a downfall to the show. Dick Wolf adds to this show as an executive producer. Miami Vice has a great feel to it, and you just have to watch it every time it appears on television. With a great cast, good episodes, and a great look you can't go wrong. Today, it's always fun to watch the re-runs on television. I also recommend that if you are a Don Johnson fan, you also watch his television series Nash Bridges, with Philip Michael Thomas as a guest star. Although this is the only publicity that Philip Michael Thomas received, it was a good one. Miami Vice is a show that will always be remembered as a great show in the 80's. I wanted it to air longer though, it ran a short series. The movies that they did were great, I would recommend renting them. The story is great! Although many people did not like this series, and other shows put it down, I would still watch it to see what it was like in the 80's. Crockett carried many guns in this series, all from a Bren Ten 10mm to a Smith and Wesson. Just watch this television series and you will love it.
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Great Movie
Oceans Eleven is a great movie. I bought the DVD (with extra features, which makes this movie even better) and I have watched it several times. It may seem a bit impossible to rob three casinos at one time, but the cast and crew do a great job with lots of detail. I highly recommend this movie to everyone, this one will not let you down.
Miami Vice: Brother's Keeper (1984)
Great show, with a great '80's look
Miami Vice is a great 80's show. With flashy suits, a hot car, and a Florida look. Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas make this a great show, and Edward James Olmos adds to this show. Although the show did drop in the ratings, I thought it was still a good show. I watch this every time it comes on Spike TV (formerly TNN). I also recommend that you watch Nash Bridges, a newer Don Johnson.
Nine Months (1995)
Not Worth Your Time
Nine months was the worst movie I have ever seen. I do not, in any way, recommend this movie to ANYONE. This movie is a disgrace to movies period. Take mine, and everyone else suggestions and STAY AWAY from this movie at all costs.
Nash Bridges (1996)
Worth Watching
Nash Bridges is, in many ways, like Miami Vice. Nash Bridges is somewhat like a new Miami Vice, with new suits, a cell phone and more technology. It is a great series, although sometimes has boring episodes. I tape it every time it comes on, and I do recommend it to anyone who wants a good action/somewhat drama series. I give it a 9.5/10 star rating.
