CSI: NY (2004)
This one is better than Miami and L.V.
I love the CSI series, but CSI:NY is my definite favorite. There's much more character development than in the other series. You can actually follow the characters one by one, and get to know them. It's in many ways more human. For example, in CSI:Miami, Horatio Caine is presented as an almost clairvoyant person: He walks into a crime scene, and just by looking at some blood traces, he can say: "No, I don't think our victim went over here to call the police - he was going to warn his son who he thought was asleep. But his soon was at a party in town." CSI:NY is much more down to ground. Not to mention, it's much more bright and colorful. Compared to L.V., where even the labs and offices are like dark tunnels, the settings and locations in N.Y. is much brighter. For me, this makes the program easier to watch.
I'm so glad we have a TV channel who broadcast CSI:NY here in Norway, because this series is just brilliant!
Chopin. Pragnienie milosci (2002)
Chopin
I play the piano myself, and I can tell you; Chopin's music is fantastic to play and listen to. Some of his greatest works can be heard in this movie, for example Piano Concerto Nr. 2 and Etude Nr. 12 Op. 10. This is a good film for those who wish to learn more about Chopin's life and music, and how he was as a person. In my opinion, the greatest moment in the film is when Chopin composes his Mazurka in D major, Op. 33. He hear his worker Jan play something on the violin, and from that he composes this Mazurka. (By the way: Those of you who play the piano; check out this mazurka - Op. 33 no. 3. It's a brilliant example of how Chopin could take folk music and turn it to the finest piece of art.)
As I said: I great film, even for those who may not like Chopin or classical music, but enjoy a good film with good characters.
The Green Mile (1999)
The Green Mile
A lot of people have told me that "The Green Mile" is a fantastic film, and that I should see it. So I did. Usually, I like all movie's where Tom Hanks is a part of the cast, since he's such a brilliant actor, and no matter how bad a script or plot is, he's making the film good just by being on the screen.
I'm not going to tell you about how the film ends, and what made me give it a 3 out of 10, but for those of you who have seen it, I can tell that it was the ending of the film that made me turn it off, before it was even finished. To be honest, I was very disappointed. Still, there's always something good to say about o movie, no matter how bad it is, and in The Green Mile Tom Hanks does a very good job, and the other guards in the prison are pretty good too. Also, Michael Clarke Duncan as John Coffey and Thomas Newman's music saves the honor of the film, because in my opinion, this film is really bad.
Forrest Gump (1994)
A nice film
Because I play a lot music for myself and do a lot of composing, I always listen to the score in every film I see, and the score in this film is by Alan Silvestri, and he's done a pretty good job. Especially the piano-theme in the beginning when we see this feather blowing through the air. "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get", Forrest says, sitting on a bench talking to strangers. Strangers who listens to this guy telling his whole story. And the story is quite good. Tom Hanks does a fantastic job playing Forrest, and there' s actually a good reason why he was awarded with an Oscar for this role. The Director Of Photography, Don Burgess has also done a good job in this film, because some of the scenes in this film is like watching a beautiful painting or going to a museum. Very nice! Everyone out there who likes good films with a good story should definately see this film.

Schindler's List (1993)
Oscar's List
I have chosen this headline because it has a double meaning; 1.The person this is about is Mr.Oscar Schindler 2.This film was awarded with 7 Academy Awards (Oscar).
Something is happening to you when you see this film. I can't think of any film before who has shown the Holocaust in the way this film does. Everything is so fantastic, John Williams' music, Janucz Kaminski's filming and of course; Steven Spielberg's directing. And the film gets even more realistic when it's filmed in black/white.
There's so many things to say about this film. I could have written about it for several years. The locations they have used for the shots from the Jewish ghetto. The almost magical symbol with the little girl in red running around in the ghetto, the German maniacs that are burning all the dead people and the brilliant photograph who has filmed this,it makes you feel you're a part of the story. There is especially one shot I would like to say something about. When the steam-trains filled with the cold Jews are arriving the consentration camp in Auschwitz and the all the moments that are captured by Janucz Kaminski you really understand how these people must have been suffering. Yes, it's a sad film. But it is fantastic!
Road to Perdition (2002)
Road to Oscar
One of the things I remember from the opening week of this film was that a lot of people said "I'm not sure if Tom Hanks fits to play an ice-cold assassin. I don't know, I'm used to see him as a part of the cast in other types of movies. Lovestories and comedies." But note that he was one of the characters in Steven Spielbergs film "Saving Private Ryan." I think that's the closest you get to the job he did when he played Michael Sullivan in Sam Mendes film "Road to Perdition."
I saw this film some weeks ago, and it was just great! And to every person out there that didn't pay attention to this film; go and see it! I have never actually liked gangster films, simlpy because they are totally without a story. Just some guys in hats that are shooting on each other. But "Road to Perdition" has a good story, which basically are showing the relations between the father and son. But thanks to a brilliant director, fantastic characters, the best locations you could ever think of, and a fantastic photograph named Conrad L.Hall this film is a masterpiece! You have to look for on the details in this film, Sam and Conrad gives you the most beautiful outline-picture in the world when Sullivan and his son are driving in to Chicago. During the film, you get to meet Harlen Maguire. He is what you may call a mega-controversial person. "I shoot the dead" as he says in the film. He takes pictures of dead people. Crazy? -Yes, absolutely. His mission will be to kill Sullivan and his son. And you will notice during the film that he is insane. And Hollywood's grand old man, Paul Newman plays the gangster-boss in this film, something which he does very good. And finally, Tom Hanks. In my opinion he does one of his best jobs as a character in this film. And with Thomas Newmans great music, Sams directing, Conrads filming, great settings and locations, great costumes and great characters this film should have won many Oscars. Unfortunately, it didn't.
But to everyone out there, please go and see this film!
Villmark (2003)
Villmark
This is a very good film. In many cases the film can be compared to Blair Witch Project, but I think it's much better. It's filmed on location in Kaupanger,Sogn in Norway. The water and the little cabin is laying far away from people. The beautiful norwegian nature where it's filmed in is making it very authentic. And the characters in this film are good,Bjørn Floberg and Kristoffer Joner are some of the best characters in Norway.
If you have the opportunity, then I suggest you go and see this film!
