Andhadhun (2018)
Not an ordinary Bollywood movie
Movie is filled with suspense and twists, kept me on the edge of my seat. Brilliant acting from everyone, especially from Tabu. Background music using piano adds perfect intensity to the scenes.
Thuppakki (2012)
Well made movie, nice concept, but again it's typical tamil movie for Vijay's fans
The movie starts of well & keeps you guessing till the end. It also has some twists, but this movie doesn't deserve 10/10.
Why it's good: 1. To watch Vijay. If you're Vijay's fan, this is one of his best you can expect. 2. Story with twists, patriotism & Kajal 3. A good commercial story, though could've been better.
Why it's not best: 1. To watch Vijay!! One hero taking many!? - Unrealistic sometimes, he works on some hunches, he can recover from his broken arm within 10 minutes, can kill countless armed people, etc. 2,3,4.. Watch it, you'll realize. I don't want to reveal spoilers.
On the whole, a good tamil movie. But not a best thriller like "A Wednesday" as it is being hyped. This doesn't deserve to be in IMDb's top, having avg. 9 rating. It's worth watching once & don't expect it to be best as per the ratings. It's rated 9/10 or 10/10 by vijay's fans only.
Chhoti Si Baat (1976)
A classic comedy with some modern views
I watched this movie today on TV. I thought it would be some old boring movie which will help me sleep. But as I saw, I couldn't stop watching it. It shows the reality of some shy guys, who are considered to be unsuccessful in their work and personal life. Amol Palekar's acting is natural, but it is Asrani & Ashok Kumar who really outperform. Asrani really impresses with his funny perplexed performance. Really a classic comedy, it is also a film which has thoughts or ideas ahead of it's time. It made me realise that, some Indian movies are really good and can be more authentic than we think. This movie comes first, then Hitch & then the Partner ;)
Manorama: Six Feet Under (2007)
Best Hindi thriller which is profound and thought provoking
After watching "DevD" and "Oye Lucky", I watched Abhay's all other movies like "Ek chalis", "Soch na tha", etc. But this movie was outstanding of all and I'm still not able to believe it didn't do well in box office. The movie is completely realistic depicting some real problems in India like corruption and illiteracy in a funny way. Though this is a intense movie, it has some thrilling sequences which unfolds secrets throughout the film, till the last minute. The movie in my opinion makes the film more enjoyable for a middle-class Indian than anybody else. If you've time and want to watch a movie which will provoke your thoughts with a good storyline, then go for it.
