Stroking an Animal (2023)
What a mess
And the addition of Tomas is likened to an old man's fantasy of a three some that he will never experience. It's bad enough that there two women's actions are never explained or explored as to Why?
But Tomas is not the most desirable male that these two women could bring into a sexual triste, so I can say that for me at least with this twist. I didn't buy it and wishful thinking of an overactive imagination of a teenager going through puberty.
So with that, I opted for the stop and delete and stopped the torture before it could get any worse.
All sex and zero substance can get you a very bad review.
Colombiana (2011)
Good movie, fire the casting director
I liked the movie except the bread loaf head dude they tried to passoff as her love interest. Other than that, it was an exciting action movie that could have done without the corny fake love crap that does more negative than positive for the entire plot.
It never fails with these writers who think that every movie needs this type of drivel to pad the run time. Only to put gratuitous Bull Crap and god awful sex scene that look more someone in the midst of a epileptic seizure than actual sex.
And agree with the woman at the police, that Zoe is completely out of his league.
Another loss attributed to the casting director.
The 51st State (2001)
Good movie with ridiculous pairing
Robert Carlyle and Emily Mortimer are an unlikely pairing. She's almost two inches taller than this smurf and I just couldn't buy it. Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable flick.
Samuel L Jackson was hitting the ball out of the park as usual. And the finale was hilarious.
332 more characters to go, but I've said all that needs to be said about Formula 51🤣😂🤣😂 bellyache hilarity was in the mix which includes Samuel last reveal as he walked up to his castle. This Dark Comedy might not appeal to a certain segment of society, generally uptight loveless, brainless knuckle daggers, like what you find over on the right hand side of the political spectrum. And as far as I'm concerned, they can all ES&D.
The War of the Worlds (1953)
I remember the first time I saw this as a child.
We were impressed and in awe of action, but after watching it again as an educated adult, well let's just say that it's not as good as my first viewing.
The misogyny scale is off the hook, and the campy silliness of the lead actors make it a comical farce. Professor Forrester couldn't keeps his grubby paws off Silvia, and her weak frail damsel in distress was pitifully annoying.
And please explain how two people running from an alien invasion would be making goo goo eyes and breakfast, with the only thing missing, would be those disgustingly loud obnoxious baloney lips kissing that are the norm for American made movie. Can someone Please give them some Vaseline for those lips.
Corn ball dialog, handsey male actors, perfect hair and makeup while surviving an alien invasion while sleeping in a ditch, and hiking in the countryside. And the cherry on top would be finding the church Silvia was in in the city of Los Angeles during a riot in the midst of the invasion.
Now, it was good back in the early 60's when I first viewed it, but given time and maturity proves this to be another Me Too misogynistic farce of a Sci-fi flick.
Rampage (1987)
Sometimes you should just stick to the Facts
Yet another movie based on a true crime much like "Reasonable Doubt" where script writing and direction takes a turn down fantasy road.
Reasonable Doubt portrayed Susan Smith completely different from how she was in the book on the subject and left out that it was mainly her sister who pushed for answers regarding her disappearance that helped bring down Mark Putnam.
So here we are treated with a ridiculous escape and assault by Charlie from a police van and jumping through a church window to assault a minister.
And with that I had no choice but to deduct 6 stars from my review on this movie.
One and done.
The Lady Killers (2017)
WOW, this reminds me
Of those 70's Italian sexploitation flicks that abound with beautiful sexy women and the ugliest male co-stars imaginable. I honestly feel sorry for the women who play these parts and how they must pinch their collective noses during the simulated make out scenes.
They should have legal grounds for a class action law suit against the movie studios, writers, casting directors, directors and the producers of these films.
I don't have to watch the movie to gauge the amount of face palming misogyny that will be presented here. And from one of the reviews, poetic justice is naturally in order. And as the son of a strong intelligent mother, I myself find it extremely hard to see the white humor here. FYI tired of black or dark representing bad things or evil, especially when you have the damage done across the globe due to western European colonialism.
Kitten with a Whip (1964)
Very Amateuristic
I had my doubts when the friend and his wife barged into David's house being too nosy for her own good. I found that a little too over the top, and, these wimpy arse juvenile delinquents are laughable.
This should have been listed as a comedy and not a drama. And their weak attempts at blackmail is extremely ridiculous. Plus this entire debacle could have been ended with a single phone call.
Over the top ridiculousness and buffoonery and I have no idea what in tarnation the director was trying to put together, but it didn't work. All I can say is, if you have spare time to waste and watching paint dry isn't an option, loosen your grip on reality and this might just work for you.
The Invisible Man (2020)
Stupidity gone wild is the new normal
Can we ever have a protagonist who can communicate with people? And the plot holes are ridiculous, such as the police officer friend not noticing the bloody thumb print on the medication bottle. Or how did he get into the police officer's house, especially since she was home all day, and the doors were never left open or unlocked. And how about when he hit the daughter while the protagonist was still on the floor too far away.
One would have to have a flexible reality scale to find these glaring flaws entertaining. And I'm only 48:03 minutes into the movie. The stupidity scale us off the hook here with this woman. She calls the ex's cellphone and hears it it the attic. She then finds said cellphone and doesn't use the cordless to call the police officer friend whom she is staying with the back her assertion of the ex's being alive. I mean there's no end to her stupidity at this point 50:36 minutes in. All that I can hope for is a halfway decent ending. I'm back and at 1:29:35 in I have come to the conclusion that this director is a complete amateur. Because what he has this talented actress do is beyond gross stupidity and drops into the realm of maganuts willful ignorance. There's no explanation for her to remain on the floor while invisible superman takes out the guards who wouldn't have been armed to begin with. And for her not to shoot him with the gun laying on the floor next to her, is just too far from reality to even get a pass.
I don't know what movie these other people watched, because this is one Big Dud.
Malignant (2021)
The creepy Det. Shaw ruins it
Why do these script writers and directors always screw up a movie with some misogynistic creepy dude "Det. Shaw" leering at Madison's adopted sister?
Totally ruins the movie and shows an extremely limited imagination and writing skills. I was rooting for that POS to be the next victim. Also as far as plot holes, Gabriel exhibited extraordinary strength, yet couldn't killed that scrawny Det. Shaw in the house or the Seattle underground.
Plus the African-American female detective was a stereo typical Kojak ripoff. But a very dumb one at that with the stupid stuff that comes out of her mouth. Not to mention that the dumb Det. Shaw would have known that Madison wasn't involved.
But who am I to see through this fraud.
Subservience (2024)
Not too shabby
Two words "Michele Morronne" will sink any movie with his horrible acting skills, or rather the lack thereof.
Cardboard, wooden, without emotion and was hired to be girl eye candy. Because acting ain't it with this one, and I not only didn't mesh with his character portrayal, I just couldn't imagine him as a father caring much about children. More like a misogynistic husband/boyfriend who treats women like possessions.
So this being a faithful husband and doting father was as farfetched as tRump telling the truth. Other than that, I quite enjoyed the movie. FYI there were other AI movies prior to M3GAN, so just my opinion on the rip-off, I don't see it.
Panic (2000)
Fluff register extra high
Neve Campbell's character was not realistic at all, because there would have been zero reasons for her to invite a weird older than mud stalker into her house, much less have sex with him.
Just more misogynist tripe being thrown around by the pedophile producers in hollyweird. I expected something in the realm of a decent film here, but I was left with a jumble hot mess of pure unadulterated nonsense. Nothing nifty, slick or cool here, just another over the hill white guy being written in to have a brief fling with a twenty something year old girl who had the scruples of an alley cat. SOS different old white guy.
Even Lambs Have Teeth (2015)
What happens common sense fails you.
Funny and predictable, and the best part is after these two twits learn their lesson.
Acting is on par with the talent of the writer and director, so don't expect oscar award winning film and you will do just fine.
Not heavy on suspense, or scares because of the predictability of the script. And it helps with the implied sex, since most sex scenes look like two hungry seals fighting over a grape. And tend to take away rather than add to the movie.
The cinematography wasn't bad, nice clear shots and bouncing camera. Sound was clear even when people were talking in low tones.
Enjoyable film with a wild ride at the end.
Devil in the Flesh (1998)
Meh
1. Music score: Back ground music at certain points in this movie was absolutely irritating, granted it was what they choose from that era, but could have been better.
2. Dialog: Somewhat juvenile and forced and the cringe worthy verbiage from the teacher with his students had vibes of "Mommy Wow, Look at all the Pedophiles"
3. Director's Skills: Well, from what I witnessed they very limited and skipped past some common sense decisions. Like after the first time the girl used the spare key. Plus schools have dress codes, so that much flesh would not be seen in class. The part involving the Knuckle Dragging yard ape neighbor and his harassment, plus attempted rape by forcing his way in, in broad daylight. And the typical cliched stupid people doing stupid stuff, during the ending cat fight.
After a while you would think that these writers/producers/directors could come up with something original for a change, instead of the same recycled nonsense slightly repackaged.
Mijn nachten met Susan, Olga, Albert, Julie, Piet & Sandra (1975)
What a Load of Crappola
Garbage from start to finish and male lead couldn't act worth a "And I won't write what I mean here", and the girls weren't much better. The dialog was something that a toddler wrote, but it match the nonacting capabilities of the cast. And predictable ending was more than cringe worthy, and was downright repulsive. It was so bad, that I saved my vision by fast forwarding past some of the most unbearable parts, and there were many. And let me not start with the glaring plot holes in plotless venture. It's like they gave it a name and than winged from there forward. Word to the wise, if you come across this movie, do yourself a extremely big favor by passing on it.
La menace (1961)
What's up with the French
And pedophiles are us, and the cliched lonely naïve girl who succumbs to doing stupid stuff. Must young girls would have been put off by a touchy feely sleazy toad Savary, yet as usual with these lazy writer, reality and common sense are never on the menu. After a while I get tired of the SOS different days with these churned out bloviated nonsensical drivel we viewers are left to contend with. Because again we get a bunch of stupid stuff going on at the end of this movie. The faithful coincidence Savary coming along right after the scooter accident and taking the dingbat to the pharmacy. And as usual the dingbat girl who doesn't know this clown from a bucket of paint, other than how sleazy he is. Has the audacity to find a lecherous old married man whose wife you met attractive, well until he tries to choke you out. So where on earth did these high ratings come from, because they are either easily entertain by garbage, or they are rating the wrong movie.
Beware the Black Widow (1968)
Was enjoyable until the end
This was an enjoyable period piece, and the organ music was funny but okay. It was rather campy and goofy with the reporter doing more investigating than the police.
The scripting wasn't the greatest, but it worked for the this film. The cinematography wasn't that bad either considering the advancements made over the years in the film industry.
Now as I said, the film was enjoyable until the end, because the mother set the stage regarding the demeanor of the women. Yet the writer and director threw the description of these women out the windows, by having the knucklehead reporter get the girl who hated men.
Oh well, what can you expect from misogynistic writers, directors and producers.
Continue (2022)
Good until
I understand that this is supposed to incorporate some her past experience with depression and attempted suicide, and I was down with the portrayal up until the meeting of Trenton at her job which seemed to be her first night there. It just didn't come off as authentic and rather forced. Add that Shiloh Fernandez didn't do a good job on his part and came off rather cringy, plus everyone at that table towered over him. So I couldn't see him leaving his date, slugging a goon and picking a girl fresh out of the nut house pardon my French. The whole thing lacked any realism, but that is just my take on it.
But seriously, if he was trying to comfort a woman who was just sexually harassed by a goon, trying to Casanova her didn't cut it. So I Fast Forwarded past that portion of this movie, and at this juncture at approximately 1 hour and 7 minutes of run time. I am at a loss as to why they choose Shiloh at all. He is so one dimensional and wooden that he could have been used for kindling to start up the wood burning stove or fireplace. He has the same tome no matter what's the subject matter is, where as Nadine Crocket does show emotion and depth at different times depending on what her character should be feeling. Well except for the bar scene which fell back on the usual cliched meetings of the opposite sex.
Would I watch it again, probably not, but it's worth a view.
A Dangerous Woman (1993)
I liked the movie but,,,
Very good movie and well acted on many levels, but it's not without controversy.
Besides the candidate's wife ramming the patio, other characters add to the mix of turmoil.
There is no sugar coating Gabriel Byrne's character Mackey as he is a sleaze bag for taking advantage of a woman with the mentality of a child for his own sexual gratification.
And yes David Strathairn's character is an a-hole and a thief, but he didn't sexual abuse Martha. As for Frances trist with Mackey, just some weak fodder that could have been left out, especially since Francis wasn't keen on what transpired between Martha and Mackey.
Sometimes writers put too much in and takes away the plausability of the entire movie.
Desperately Seeking Susan (1985)
What a waste of time
Numero uno on the pit fall of this so-called rom-com would be Aiden Quinn as a love interest. He looks more feminine than Rosanne Arquette and the light bulb head rock musician as Madonna's love interest didn't fly either.
As for the comedy side of the coin, I am at a loss for words, because it basically was nonexistent from start to finish. And let's not even delve too deep on the amnesia twist, because that doesn't explain Rosanne character finding and fitting Madonna's clothes.
The Dez character came off overly sleazy and even with Rosanne's character amnesia, it doesn't erase the fact that Dez thinking she was Susan and his buddy's girl, the sleaze bag still made a move on her. So I can't see her hooking up with him after leaving her husband.
1 star because that's the lowest score allowed.
Jeg - en kvinde 2 (1968)
This is pure garbage
I have absolutely no idea what film those nine movie critics watched, but it was this one. The male lead couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Talk about stiff as a board, and the english dubbing didn't help either. As far as the female lead actress, well she wasn't much better, but I would gather after listening to that excruciatingly painful dialog that these actors did the best with what they were given.
Screen play ranks a big fat zero
Scripting was non-existing
Acting was atrocious and ranged from pitifully awful, to face palming ridicules
The only redeeming factor was she had a nice body.
This Hot Mess would have been better off left on the cutting room floor.
Creative Nonfiction (2009)
Different and Fresh
I liked the fact that this movie didn't follow the age old clichéd ridden nonsense churned out by large financed independent producers, as well as high end Hollywood productions. With a major empathasis on real everyday looking people and not like a cattle call for a modeling gig with a bunch of boney butt, bubble headed blonde with too much make-up.
Also missing were the common cliches and typical stupid people doing stupid stuff causing the audience to face palm. And yes the camera work was shaky and cut off the tops of people's heads. But the rest was very entertaining from this young lady.
Apurva (2023)
Fire the writer/director
WTF was that nonsense in the abandoned train car? It was a slap, yet she was out for like 15 minutes. And what's up with the inching on her back like it was broken when she first came to? That was followed by crawling across the floor, when they could have walked to exit the back side of the train car. Oh and let's not forget tripping twice thus far.
For someone trying to evade these thugs, she's really noisy, and that includes breathing so loud and everything she does is loud. And yes, the bad guys were stupid, lazy and halfwits.
I just don't get it with these flimsy scripts full of the SOS different day trips, scattered brain illogical thinking and some of the most hairbrain decisions leading viewers to root for the bad guys to do their job so the movie will end.
Caught in His Web (2022)
Talk about Stupid
Okay, now I understand that there are weak individuals with the common sense of a grapefruit. But this mess is hard to stomach when none of these girls confide in their parents. So as per this rendition, parents are slackers with zero communication skills with their children. And the children are a bunch of dimwitted obnoxious surly little "and I won't write what I really want to say"
Anyway, if these so-called girls who refuse to open their mouths when put into this type of predicament, I feel zero sympathy for them and you can place this on the director and writers of this hogwash. I mean seriously, one mom look at this and the police tracking it back to the source. But noooo, we get three idiots from the same school being bullied into sending nude photos, like those won't get shared as well.
Cuckoo (2024)
What a load of Crap
This movie morphed into a how many stupid decisions can I make by the lead actor playing the role of Gretchen. That was followed by the father and step-mother cliched decisions and just about every thing that can be construed as a dumb move applied liberally throughout the movie.
With a whacked out ending that left me wondering what happened to the parents and how did Ed recover so fast from the car accident, get a replacement vehicle and arrive in the nick of time for the drive off into the sunset finally?
Naw, this was one big fat farcical of what the director/writer thought would become a good movie.
From Within (2008)
Cliche cinema in session
What a load of Bullcrap, with the typical girl falling for the worst acting chucklehead in the cast. I saw that nonsense right from the start, and the only saving grace would be zero survivors, with the girl killing the religious nutjob.
Otherwise this one can be charted in the totally predictable, and cornball cheesy movie which would have been better off left in the can.
I would not recommend watching this, as I will never get my time back, so my review is doubling as a PSA for anyone contemplating viewing it.
And I need 82 more characters to finalize my review on this poorly constructed movie.
