Hi Nanna (2023)
Commerical and unwatchable!
Dictionary:
Contrived
adjective
deliberately created rather than arising naturally or spontaneously.
Created or arranged in a way that seems artificial and unrealistic.
That's what this movie is sadly. It's a luvly plot shredded to pieces with some very below average commercial cinema attitude.
Nani is good through the movie. Myra the lil one is stunning in her role. Mrunal is good in most parts except those where the director makes her look too filmy.
Jayaram a revered actor in Malayalam does possibly his worse performance yet..but then that the director's promise.
This is a very frustrating film in the way all the above come through.
Sadly it's a DON'T WATCH movie!

Must watch luv story
This one is such a beautiful movie. Malayalam movies and movie makers - I love you!
I mean who expects an unknown (almost) star cast and a movie this grand!!! I am forced to give a 5 stars just coz this is a beautiful story told with grace. There were minor elements which didn't suit me as much, but then I have seen enough bad cinema to appreciate this effort.
Rony plays the role of his lifetime with wonderful grace and poise. Vincy has always been superb and she delivers with her vivacious portrayal. Azees is superb in his role.
Overall a must watch. Unfortunately available only on Sainaplay - but then I guess for all Malayalam movie fans ita worthwhile subscribing coz there are a few gems available here.
This is a MUST WATCH.
Vayasethrayaayi? Muppathiee..!! (2024)
Stunning Prasant holds this movie up!
Prasant Murali has about 80% screen time and boy does he take advantage of what. He is a revelation and I loved him through out.
The movie is a comedy with a fast moving plot which does lose its way initially and then picks up. I was intrigued by the long shots which are many in the movie. All actors do justice to their roles. There are many who I have not seen before and ate stunning on screen with their portrayals.
There is a 10m monologue by Prasant at the end which is a goosebumps moment. The plot will be quite relatable for many and the treatment is good.
Highly recommend this movie. I will surely do a re-watch.
Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video (2023)
Must watch for all age groups 🙏🙏🙏
This should be a must watch for all... irrespective of age. That's how powerful this plot and the direction is.
I salute the director and the team behind this gem🙏🙏🙏 Its rare to find a plot which hooks you from the very first scene and kudos to all the actors, the direction and the superb editing.
I guess Nimrat was my first captivating actor and I just wanted to watch this tough cop do her stuff. Her role was well written and even better played. I loved her role🙏 I just waited for her to come on screen. Talking about waiting, Subodh Bhave - Woww.. I was captivated by his portrayal. Another person I looked forward to seeing. And Chinmay Mandlekar who was brilliant. So so want to watch them again and probably go back and watch their previous work. What a rich cast with great acting chops.
Through the movie I felt Radhika Madan was miscast till - the final scene where I guess she scored above everyone with a I guess 3 min monologue 🙏🙏🙏 Loved it much.
Highly recommend this movie. Please please watch this one. You will be better for that decision.
Do Patti (2024)
Very average movie
This is not a thriller..this is a comedy! Yes but unfortunately it's on the viewers😡
2 words kept coming my mind as I started watching this so called movie - tacky and convenient.
Scenes emerge without any reason because their ill conceived story needs to plod through.
Writers need to get a training on..well respecting the audience. And dear writers and director - if you want to know how to show a court scene please watch some Malayalam movies. I mean are you serious???
They tried the social media hype for sure but then the how long can that run.
Kriti is ok in her twin roles. That's about it. Nothing more here. Rest is as forgettable as a bad dream.
Shameful is the kindest word I can use for this stuff!

Must watch. Very well made
This is a wonderful movie! I went in with a lot of doubts because I had read not so good critic reviews and also coz am not a Kapil fan. And I must say, I was quite invested in the story.
I read somewhere that this movie will make you feel 'privileged' and I will say that it could not have been more apt. I feel a lot of emotions and one on them is that!
I can promise you one thing; you will see the next and a few delivery people differently after seeing this. And hopefully also feel grateful for what you have.
The ending is particularly beautiful. Kapil shines with a low key performance and Shahana is as always perfect. Everyone plays it well; there is a heart wrenching scene at an internet café; very powerful. I salute Nandita Das the director and everyone involved in making this.
I highly recommend this movie as a MUST WATCH for everyone including kids.
Subharathri (2019)
This movie should have been tax free!
Well well...can I have atleast 5 sequels of this movie 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 I have rarely seen a gem like this.
It's an understatement to say I liked this movie. I think such movies should be made tax free for the wonderful message. I have many Muslim friends and yet I learnt so much about Islam and in a wonderful plot.
Siddique from start to finish and boy did he embrace this role. All other characters support him well. It's suprising how many known actors of Malayalam industry actually worked in this 😊 Quite surprised with many faces who come for small roles. No wonder because it is a story worth telling.
I have no words for the plot and this wonderful movie. I just want to say PLEASE WATCH IT. PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏

Much talked of and yet...
Hmmmm..firstly I see this movie today after the World has nearly ended 😅😅😅 but then better late than zilch i guess.
Am a huge mohanlal fan and still felt he pulled down the movie with his Tamil which was too mallu in its sound. That was a huge put off and I cannot believe this was not important to the director. Prakash Raj I thought was excellent. He has equal screen presence and does very well except for the last scene where I thought the direction lacked the finesse to not make him dramatise a deep soul touching moment.
A scene where Tabu and Prakash Raj are very close together in a romantic talk shines with its beautiful direction and Tabu's excellent expressions. Memorable scene for me.
I didn't enjoy the movie much. Did the hype kill it for me? I don't think so.

New age movie on social media
This is a new age movie if there was one coz this movie runs on insta and social media. Ananya is quickly becoming a star and has done very well again. She is in every scene. The pairing is odd coz both were seen very recently in Call me bae.
It's fast paced and lags too in parts. But then shows how life has/is changing in the new age of social media.
Well made, good acting, nice editing and a word for the AI character which starts feeling downright spooky after sometime. That part is constructed really well and you kind of are in it fully.
A good watch. I guess there is a sequel planned as the ending kind of hints at.
Swakaryam Sambhavabahulam (2024)
Super Jio Baby and a great plot
I found a father as awesome and maybe even better than the father in Drishyam.
This is how father's should be. Loved the simple and powerful plot.
RESPECT WOMEN is probably Jio Baby's biggest aspect which shows through his amazing movies and this role. I was quite taken by his screen presence and his amazing ability to emote effortlessly. What a star he is. I soo want to see him in many more roles.
Annu is very good. Anjali shines in her role. I loved the way she played her character. Such movies need to be seen by more and more people.
This is a SUPER WATCH. Gives you a happy glow at the end.
Down Underdogs (2022)
Super series got a super story telling!!!
This is a MUST WATCH for every cricket fan and for sure all Indian fans.
It's done quite well over 4 hours and the experts add to what India achieved.
Many may not recall that India played with (according to me) a C-Team in the final match at Gabba. We had got an injured 11 already😅. Can you believe our 3 bowlers for this crucial match were Washington Sundar, Natarajan and Shardul Thakur and of course a 3 tests old Mohd Siraj. And between the first 3 we had 14 wickets😳 and 177 runs 😲😲😲
And then they win that test match against a full Australian side and win the series.
Did this really happen or is this a dream of a desperate Indian cricket lover??? 😊
CID Ramachandran Retd SI (2024)
Tight clean thriller; good watch
Shajohn from the first scene to the last. And a very nice simple tale which is gripping and thrilling. He excels with his screen presence. Has grown so much as an actor over the years.
I enjoyed this movie for its simplicity and clean story telling. No other industry can even think of making a movie like this!!!
Every other character adds well to the narrative. Suspense thrillers especially of the investigation type need to have a tight script and good narrative quality. This movie does well to capture that essence. Shajohn's ease with acting and his measured performance elevates this plot a great deal.

Pathetic plot and shoddy acting
This is pea brain espionage and spy thriller 😡😡😡 it's downright embarrassing how the plot keeps itself at kindergarten level. And we are of course fools to sit through such shoddy stuff.
For the very first time disliked Gulshan - he was soo miscast. Roshan over acts galore and Jhanvi just looks very confused. Again she is someone I have liked in almost all her movies.
What a waste of 2 hours and the bad news is that there is a part 2 coming 😅 How did they even think they can get people interested for part 2 after what's done here? It's unbelievable how feedbacks are not shared.
Keep away. This is not worth nothing!
Vishesham (2024)
Wonderful acting and plot.
Oh my God - who is Anand Madhusoodanan and where was he hiding all these while. Just 5 min into the movie I was stunned with how likeable he was and how well he was acting. As the movie ended about 2 hours later I couldn't forget him. Rarely have I been so impressed with a performance by an unknown actor.
This is a wonderful plot and a very well made movie. Chinnu is exemplary in her role. Anand and Chinnu have 90% of the screen time and it's a pleasure to watch them emote.
The direction and writing is such that every actor excels and you just get the feel good vibe throughout. Althaf is as funny as ever, Ann Jameela is excellent in her short presence, Baiju is unbelievably cute, Parvathi stuns in her role - well everyone shines.
This is a MUST WATCH movie for all the right reasons.
Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys (2024)
Ok movie mostly with a good ending
Am so confused. I got into the first 30m loving the style and everything and then started losing it a bit. Towards the mid and the later half I was not too happy and was wondering why I am continuing to watch the movie.
And then after a long time (if u read my other malyalam movie reviews) I was astonished and very happy to have a beautiful ending. I didn't expect that and I actually had tears in certain scenes.
Yet few stars less than optimum coz the plot meandered in between.
Is it a must watch? Hmmm not sure. If you can sit through to the last I guess you may appreciate it. However they still mash it up at the very end with a scene which is completely unnecessary 😊
Pattaapakal (2024)
Pathetic is an understatement!
This is easily the worst Malayalam movie I have ever seen. I couldn't bear to watch post interval. That itself was very difficult. I have never ever seen a Malayalam movie with such lame jokes. There is no plot of course and generally the scenes are as disjointed as you can imagine. What a shame!!! This movie is exactly opposite to how Malayalam movie makers consider the audience smart at large; here you are supposed to be dim witted I guess. What else can explain the zero plot, very poor scenes, bad editing and overacting galore. Earnestly hope in the hurry to join the lately talked about Malayalam industry, we don't get such stuff from half baked movie makers.
Highly recommended to keep away!!!
Rockstar (2011)
Very poor plot and badly made
Its an understatement to say am a minority here:-)...i absolutely hated this movie from the first 15 min for various reasons and that's when i quickly checked the reviews here and endured it fully. I was reminded of the movie "Tamasha" which was another 'tamasha' according to me on the audience by Imtiaz Ali.
Just an implausible plot and some very bad acting by the lead lady made it unworthy of a movie made by a director who also made Jab We Met, Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal & Highway.
I lost it when Ranbir, the all quiet and shy guy suddenly (on director's instructions) starts acting very aggressively to woo the gal and then in disbelief I watched how the lady (who was completely disinterested all along) seemed to be just waiting for him...reallly???..come on...is this plausible!!! And a husband who allows his wife to go off to her lover just coz she wants to??? And the director doesn't even pause to explain how this could possibly happen. What makes the husband do this?
Throughout, the movie jumps frames as if to say that the audience is a fool and wont understand. I hate this type of movie making. I have no issues with the morality or lack of it in going after a married lady...but for God's sake make it well. And I just didn't understand why Ranbir was angry??? Was society against him at any time?? What was the reason for his angst...I mean its so stupid to show a normal guy suddenly very angry and talk about Sadda Haq...What haq? Not explained. The song is very good of course and well shot. I would rather watch it on youtube then endure the movie and dislike the song too as a fall out of a bad plot:-(
Most times the lady looked disinterested for a relationship and Ranbir looked like one of the thousands of creeps (men) who just don't take 'no' for an answer...and this i found very disturbing. I am not for glorifying such behavior which is what the movie does in some ways.
It is a movie which was panned by critics and the audience alike and I am happy that happened. However it now seems to ring a bell with few and well...everybody has their own way of looking at things.
To me a movie you must not waste your time on!
Rating: Must avoid!
