Rattlesnake Republic (2011)
I LOVED This Show !
Eco warriors completely miss that there's a reason catching rattlers was profitable... Because their venom is used to treat people who've been bitten by these nasty critters... And it would seem that everyone else caved to the ignorant pressure of social justice warriors, without putting up one hand in defense... Sad and disgusting... Loved watching the show, because all nasty creatures, who're DESIGNED TO KILL... make me want to know everything about them that I can... I dove with sharks in the bahamas because they scare the crap out of me and fascinate me... Without television like this, that shows you more about rattlesnakes than any pompous nature documentary who's producer and director weren't pimping their junk as "art"... If you really want to know anything about rattlesnakes... This show is like the cell phone cam of real Texas nature !
Californication (2007)
So True To California... So Sexist... So Good !
Californication is supposed to be what happens to you, when you come to California from somewhere else... In reality, it's what the people who've come to California have done to it... Especially the smug New Yorkers and Bostonians... The acting in this series is as good or better than any I've ever watched, and it's absolutely impossible to not get involved in every episode... David should have received 7 Emmys for what he's done with this character, and the way that he's so clearly presented both the emotion of his character, and how he's JUST PLAIN PUT UP with the hateful stereotypes of men, and the patronizing of women... This show should be a requirement in every college class involving social studies and women's issues... In the beginning, I started out loving Natasha McElhone's character, but by the 5th season, I've become disgusted with her "teflon" ability to do anything SHE wants, and come out without a word of criticism or guilt for her irresponsible actions, mind games, and wishy-washy abuse of Hank, while Hank takes full blame and responsibility for what the writers portray as someone akin to the devil in California... I'm not knocking the writers, because all in all, they are clearly superb... I just get really p'd off with the Hollywood trend to blame men for everything, and let women slide on everything... Clearly, a lot of the action and situations are exaggerated, but the excess is part of the fun... Do yourself a favor, turn on NetFlix and watch the first season... Pay close attention to the way that David is able to communicate the character's emotions and personality, and get ready to do a lot of follow-through with the rest of the seasons... You Won't Regret It...
Atlas Shrugged II: The Strike (2012)
Doesn't Live Up To Part 1, But Does Pull You In To See The Rest
Just saw the film, and was disappointed that the original cast wasn't involved. The 2 lead characters, Dabney and Henry, don't have the same appeal or chemistry as the leads in part 1. The film seemed very uneven, and didn't flow well enough to engage the audience, but the thematic material was so relevant to what is going on in America today, that I'm sure every audience member was angered at what was a very clear representation of the destruction of America, as we've known it, which is in progress today, because of the 99%ers. This film is ultra relevant, and should be seen by as many people as possible, just like "2016, Obama's America". People have got to start acknowledging that socialism is destructive, de-motivating and only a cover up for an "elite" group who will have total control of everything and everyone. See the film, for the message. In that context, it's very powerful.
Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011)
Great Film
The cinematography was outstanding, the acting was very good, and at the end of the film, everyone in the audience cheered and clapped. The only real drawback was that at the beginning of the film, the direction the film was taking wasn't very clear, maybe intentionally so, but it made it difficult to get involved until it had fleshed out the true intent. I hope Atlas Shrugged will inspire good people to go out and do good things. At the very least, I hope, although I know it's a really long shot, that the people who are ruining our nation, by voting for an agenda full of lies and deceit, will recognize the truth in the film, and at least think twice, or investigate the true positions of the people they are voting for. This film will undoubtedly be suppressed by the liberal agenda.
