Boat Trip (2002)
As bad as you think it will be
Holy macaroni. This film literally has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
How the producers managed to trick Will Ferrell, Roger Moore and Cuba Gooding Junior to appear in this is beyond my comprehension.
The film has also not aged very well at all! The language is very early 2000's and would almost certainly be deemed unacceptable these days particularly when referring to the LGBTQ+ community.
Acting talent is minimal, the story, if you can call it that, is weak, the characters are empty and hammy. The whole thing is utterly dismal.
So, if you're in need of seeking out this type of film, opt for Road Trip or Freddy Got Fingered instead.
Evilspeak (1981)
Don't believe the haters!
This film is wonderful! An 80's spanner! Great story, great acting, decent budget, well produced with some atmospheric scenes.
Banned originally in the UK as a video nasty, this one has stood the test of time unlike some of its counterparts.
Clint Howard is convincing as Stanley Coopersmith, the victim of a bunch of military academy bullies, including a young Don Stark.
The story is a familiar one, "Cooperdick" gets bullied, discovers the Devil and wreaks revenge on those who wronged him.
If you're a fan of 80's revenge films, you would do worse than watch this.
Switch the lights off, settle down and watch some Stanley Cooperdick revenge, with the aid of Satan 😁😁😁
Choose or Die (2022)
Choose another movie!
If you like quirky horror films then this is not one!
Starts off very promising but quickly descends into a real confused mess.
The storyline is decent enough but the rest is, well, not as decent.
Do yourself a favour and choose another (or die)! 😁
Separation (2021)
So much promise, so little atmosphere (or anything)
The trailer for this film is soooooooo good! It tempted me in to watch it - it did it's job.
I found the film to have so much promise but it fails to deliver on all levels. The characters are weak and shallow with no semblance of real life.
The scares are absolutely diluted with no atmosphere or premise to the scene.
It all just happens.
Dull and boring. Go rewatch The Conjuring instead.
Forced Entry (1976)
Underrated classic
For true fans of the genre, this is a must see. Sleaze galore and nasty sexualised violence should satisfy even the most hardened fans of horror.
The UK pre cert is definitely worth tracking down.
Go see it for yourself.
