Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüüt (2016)
Replacable and bad cinematography
The movie is a prime example of a trend throughout german kids movies in the past few years.
1. The story is weak with over the top villains that are evil because the script tells them to
2. One of the main characters is your typical shy kid that gets overlooked and bullied
3. Almost all adult actors overact as hell
4. The look is clean, colorful and sadly not at all original
5. Dialogue is as on the nose as it can get
There are of course other problems with these movies, but you get a good picture with just these points.
So what makes this movie that horrible?
Well first of all the camera work seems to be ripped of from your typical german crime movie - the mainstream movie landscape is pretty sad in germany, sorry:(
Anyway, while I was watching this movie I got a headache - not only because of the cinematography, but mostly.
I do not want to comment the acting any further than it deserves. It's non-existing.
The story is boring, bad paced and the script is poorly written.
You might have noticed, that I have not compared this movie to the old tv show from 1972. That is because the only things they have in common are Robbie, Tobbie and the Fliwatütt. And at the end of the day the 1972 show is simply better in every single aspect.
Though I am willing to say one good thing about the new movie: The vfx effects are decent and not at all bad.
