Putyovka v zhizn (1931)
one of the best movies and book i have ever experienced
i have to say very little cause all you need to do is read his book "pedagoziki" cause its amazingness will drag you away from all that hollywood @#$%, i have never been to russia, or know many russian directors, but i have seen russian movies, and they were all better that the hollywood crap we're watching today
Alexis Zorbas (1964)
America has finally done something worth watching
Zorba the Greek is an example of the kinda movie that "Should" be released. Zorba the Greek doesn't use "profound" photography, like European movies, but it tells its story, in a simple, fashion, like life it self, simple and full.
Pearl Harbor (2001)
its amazing how bad hollywood makes its movies
im not going to say much about P.H cause its not worth it. it was so badly done that in media class we learn on why it was badly done. this is by far the worst of the worst, i gave it 2 out of ten thats */**** cause it had some good effects, but just horrible. if you like to watch a movie and get bored midway, this is for you.
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
respect to the cons and the uncons
Stanley did it again.
Again I am commenting on kubrick's work, to be quite honest before I heard of the movie I never knew of Stanley kubrick, I read the book, and then my teacher had the poster up, and that's what brought me here today.
The first time I tried to watch the movie, it was a year after I read the book, I saw it on video, and to be perfectly honest, I was expecting too much, and I got 90 percent of this perfection, it was more than beautiful, but not for it's time.
The book was written when they first landed on the moon, and there we were watching Anthony burgesses masterpiece come to life. Well most people think its only sticking to the society illness, but I disagree, it is purely showing, Truth and Alex's truth was sadism, it brought him peace, it brought him pleasure, and so it is his truth, and he always keeps his violent ways, even when they try to break his sadist ways, he must die to suppress his truth, but he succeeded on winning against politicians.
The movie also talks, about the idea, that `when we sent some one to a prison, are we curing him and if so, for what reason' he was defiantly not fixed up after the lodvico technique, and did the technique help the families he harmed, did it? Hell no, and it is shown when he goes to the writer's house, he is not in peace but only more pain, when he finds `ALEX'. It is also having the effect of ken kesny's coo coo's nest, being anti everything, `who is the good guy' not Alex, the rapist, not the politicians, they don't care about the victims, only for them selves, not the victims, the victims whom will need sadism to feel joy, and will enjoy the murderers death. It has another theme, the theme of curing society, it used 2 ways, one is Alex, he was `cured' or as he acted like it, and when that didn't work, they tried bringing the rapists, on their side, which is what people call a coupe de tat, they suppress the innocent by making the murderers, police officers, they still do what they used to do, beat whomever, but now it's legal, which is the symbolism, when their suits are white and look like army uniforms, it is symbol for understand human nature, hate brutality and sadism.
My favorite film, not the best but my favorite, I love the book and the movie; it was symbolic, inside the movie theater and outside.>
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
whom?
Who is good and who is bad? Well first I have to say that the direction of this movie is excellent, and has no equal, it is what I consider a Stanley Kubrick movie, from its views and ideas. Well lets get to it, Mac Murphy is a rapist, a man who doesn't like rules, and doesn't like the authorities faces, and will do anything to be a fascist towards them. Yet he is claiming he is crazy and runs away from the society of corruption that he built, by manipulation. And gets stuck with a middle age nazi like women, whom, if you have read the book, has control over any one and will beat any one if she wants to. There is the idea of who is the good guy and whom is the bad, who is crazy, and whom is not, who is the real fascist, well I'll tell it to you, Mac Murphy and ratchet, they both represent the hate and the corruption in the world today, it's existence and life. When Mac Murphy tried to pick that sink he was unable, he couldn't reach freedom, and enlightenment, but the death and dumb Indian did, if you read the book, the world was spoken from his eyes, he manipulated everyone, he is the bad guy, so is everyone, the whore, the dead kid, the black boys, mc Murphy and ratchet, teachings of anti everything. And yet there is levels again like fascism, Mac Murphy turned out to be a vegetable, by the strict orders of ratchet, him going against societies illnesses, and then crushed, I disagree with the minority that believe this movie is crap, cause craziness, is a representation of corruption, and it was not Billy whom was corrupt, it was miss ratchet and every son of a bitch who walks on the streets, it isn't the crazy people whom are crazy but the sane people whom are.
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
No higher
There isn't a great deal to say about a tremendous movie, either it is the best of the best or it needs the development. This is one of those movies that you be obliged to, not only see but also understand 2001: A Space Odyssey is the only movie that ever contemplated the book as close as anything, the book it self is also very magnificent, I suggest you read it first. Any dilemma that you will find with 2001: A Space Odyssey is not with the movie, Maybe the box is a bit old, but that's it. Again no better film, has been made yet!
