Best Coast: Our Deal (2011)
Nostalgia Trip
I never saw this when it originally came out, however I feel like I just opened a time capsule, or jumped back in time. This has a good all star teen cast - Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl from Kick-Ass), Shailine Woodley (from The Descendants), Tyler Posey (from Teen Wolf) Donald Glover (from Community), Miranda Cosgrove (from iCarly) and more. It makes sense that all of these stars were bunched together since they were all in their teen prime. It's great to see the main stars still relevant and maintaining their star powers.
I read that this was part of a "Supervideo" project - Supervideos was an MTV idea, low-budget, narrative music video designed to be pair big film talent with indie-superstar artists.
The story line is an obvious reference to Romeo and Juliet meets West Side Story. Everyone seems to be having fun, but with it being a low-budget project, I felt as though no one was truly expanding themselves. I wonder what could have been if it was directed by someone with a bigger budget and maybe a more cohesive storyline.
Pin Cushion (2017)
British version of Carrie
If you haven't watched Carrie then this is absolutely made for you. It is tailored to UK audience more than global- as opposed to Carrie.
But I'm afraid it doesn't bring much else to the table, it is not more than Carrie.
A genuinely unexpected pivotal scene near the end is as refreshing as it is shocking - for all of this, the film never becomes a misery fest and is very enjoyable.
Superman Returns (2006)
One of the best superman films
I came here to review superman...and I've reached my goal! I love this film so much. It's what inspired me to make films, along with Pink panther
Arjun & Alison (2014)
Okay
Needs a much bigger budget. Still succeeds as an all-out assault on good taste.
Pink Flamingos (1972)
Talk about a classic...
Does the humor stand up today? It depends on how broadly "humor" is defined for you. I still love this movie, but some of us are sicker than others.
Baby Driver (2017)
It's average
The film seems, appropriately enough, unhappy to allow any exchanges longer than 140 characters.
