The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge (2023)
I want the old show back!
I really wanted to like this new version of the show. I don't hate it but it's just not the same. First I don't care for shows where bakers are eliminated each epidode so that has stopped me from watching many competition shows.
I was so happy that Nailed it, the original version didn't eliminate anyone and had new bakers each episode.
I don't like watching so many people bake at once. Three at a time was perfect.
I also don't care for Nicole and Jacque being hidden away for half the show. I love those two and they were half the reason I watched but now they are barely around. I really hope they go back to the old format or something similar.
Survival of the Thickest (2023)
I need other season!
I love love lighthearted female lead shows. This show was outstanding and eight episodes wasn't enough.
I don't think I've ever seen Michelle Buteau in anything but now I love her. She plays this role well. I'm like is this how she is in real life because she nailed it.
The writing is so well done! I love that it's not a lot of heavy drama and plenty of funny moments.
I love that her best-friend was a straight gentle, loving and supportive black guy because we don't see that kind friendship enough on tv.
I liked how towards the end we got to see her interacting with her roommate more because I thought it was weird how she moved in and had her friends over often but we rarely saw the roomate.
By next week I'll probably be watching it again because I miss it already!
Fast Foodies (2021)
So fun! I hope there's another season coming
I love this show. I'm the process of giving up shows that are full of drama. I'm looking for fun, and heart warming. I wasn't sure about this show because cooking competitions can be intense and I'm trying to relax more but this show hits the spot!
Yes it's a competition but they aren't super competitive and petty with each other. They are actually very supportive of each other and I really like that. I find myself smiling a lot while watching.
The food looks good. I love that they have two rounds to compete in. The guests have been fun and they fit in nicely with the chefs.
I wish there were more seasons because I'm almost done with season 1 and I know that I'll watch season 2 in less than a week.
The Best Man: The Final Chapters (2022)
Better than I expected
This show is better than I expected. I finished Bestman Holiday and a new one came on. I thought I was watching a movie but turns out it was episode 1 of the final chapters. The writing is so good. Every episode speaks to me. The only thing I felt was overdone was when Murch had those flash forwards of what he'd do to "Karen". Yes I'm black but I thought one was enough. Also wish LJ coming out or being outed was done differently.
But other than that I look forward to reach episode. The cast still seems to be connected after all of these years. I love how now all of the women have put the past behind them and they get along.
I'm sad it's going to end. The writers and the cast are phenomenal.
Saved by the Bell (2020)
Loved the show in the 90's and this one too
Omg this show is hilarious!!! I saw the preview and thought the show would have more episodes of Kelly, Zack, Slater and Jessie but nope. And I don't care anymore the new kids crack me up! It does help that Slater and Jessie are most episodes.
I love the pranks and the schemes. I love how they brought in kids from another district.
There's so much I love. The people who gave this show 1 star have no sense of humor.
I'm old school. I used to watch saved by the bell in the 90's and it was great. Now it's saved by the bell for millennials and they nailed it. I actually laugh out loud. Lexi is hilarious. The show is funny and well written.
The School for Good and Evil (2022)
Better than I expected
I'm an adult and my boyfriend and I loved it. Never read the book. Sometimes I think that works in your favor because you bdon't know what to expect and you can be suprised. So we decided to give it a try on Friday night and really enjoyed it.
The characters were just fine. The evil school actors could've been better but it wasn't bad. The main characters had a good friendship that I enjoyed watching.
It kept our attention the entire time. He generally doesn't like kid or teen movies but this had lots of action from beginning to end.
It was fun to watch. I hope there's a part 2 because I would definitely watch!
Partner Track (2022)
I really wanted to love it
I was looking forward to watching this. In the beginning I felt like the acting was b- but I hung in there.
I'm at episode 8 and really wanted to like the main character but I like her less each episode. She's not a good person even though it appears that she is on the outside.
I don't understand why'd they'd make the main character in a rom com the bad guy (girl).
I wish the show was about Rachel and Tyler they are good people and stand for something unlike Ingrid. If there is a season 2 hopefully it will be more about them and less about her.
I will watch until the end but I'm not sure if I'd watch season 2.
Grand Crew (2021)
This is a fantastic crew of friends
My boyfriend and I watch this show together and we literally laugh out loud several times during each episode.
It can be a bit cheesy at times but that's one of things that I like about it. After a long day it's nice to watch something light and fun instead of more drama.
Of course I love watching black friends love, laugh and support each other. I'm looking forward to season 2.
And Just Like That... (2021)
They won me over
I waited to watch so I could binge them and I'm glad I did.
I'm not a die hard fan from the 90's but I did love the show as I watched reruns.
I really didn't know what to expect, the reviews aren't that great but I'm glad I didn't let that stop me.
I love watching these ladies and their chemistry together. It's like no time has passed since they worked together.
I'm enjoying their new friendships with other women.
I honestly don't even miss Samantha. I watch episodes and don't even think about her and what she would've said or did.
I just absolutely love shows about female friendships.
I'm all in and I hope there's a season 2 & 3! They won me over!
Brazen (2022)
Watchable on a lazy evening
I have lived Alyssa Milano since I was kid so I was happy to watch. This felt like a lifetime movie. But it wasn't bad. It's perfect for a night when you watch something without being over stimulated.
The Big Leap (2021)
I'm in love with this show
We need more shows like this, smidge of drama but also lots of joy. This show is heartfelt and sweet. Sometimes I have tears and I don't even know why. I like all of the characters. I love to watch dance shows and it's wonderful how they also tie in their back stories. I wish there were more episodes.
Cinderella (2021)
Enjoyed it more than I expected
When I turned it on and saw it was a musical I almost turned it off. I'm not a fan of musicals and I generally don't watch them or I fast forward through the singing. But I decided to keep an open mind and I'm glad I did. The singing wasn't bad or over the top.
I really liked the the last song and dance scene of the movie.
And I love the message for girls to go after their dreams.
Resort to Love (2021)
Watching it for the 2nd time
I love easy to follow romantic comedies. This was cute, upbeat and not a lot of drama. I love Christina Milian and she's great in this role. And Caleb...whoa...hot! Great cast btw.
Fatherhood (2021)
Heartwarming! Perfect for a Sunday Afternoon
Kevin Hart was amazing. He really brought this single dad character to life. Him and Maddie had great chemistry. The entire cast was amazing.
I loved that it was full of brown people usually shows & movies have so many light skinned actors. As a light skinned woman I can say it was refreshing to see this change.
I don't have any kids but I think it's a great movie for all!
The Upshaws (2021)
I already want a season 2
I'm at episode 9 and I have really enjoyed this show so far. I like that it's so real. I love seeing a comedy like this on Netflix where they can be so real, cuss and say the things that someone would say for real. Mike Epps is really good, I feel like he is Benny in real life. The adults all have great chemistry. Great ensemble adult cast!! Legends!
#BlackAF (2020)
I love the show
My boyfriend and I have different taste on tv shows but we both enjoyed this show. Lots of laughs. It got even better after episode 4. I love seeing black people live an elite life and the craziness that comes with it. I think Kenya does a great job acting since he's not an actor and I've loved Rashida since Parks and Rec. I think the family dynamic is great. Please seriously don't review until you watch all episodes because it hit another level episode 5-8. I dont know what all the bad reviews are about. Guess people don't have a sense of humor anymore. It's just a tv show for entertainment and it was entertaining. I think the cast & show deserve a 2nd season.
