Russkiy Reyd (2020)
Not Everything Will Come Out of This
Since the '90s, Russia has been going through a massive reshuffle of power in both politics and business. These processes haven't really quieted down even now, and we often hear in the news about various enterprises changing hands through militarized takeovers that have nothing to do with the law. The film "Russkiy Reyd" dives into these issues, offering a no-compromise look at the reality of the situation.
A group of well-trained fighters is tasked with taking over a factory. Leading the team is Nikita, a former special forces soldier. He has a special role in this mission, but no one could have predicted what he would do next.
Nikita couldn't care less about the factory or his own gain. What matters to him is avenging those who caused him and his loved ones great pain. It seems that he has come to settle a personal score and will stop at nothing until he has punished each and every one on his list.
First off, I've got to mention the film's stylish, hard-hitting atmosphere. The action is seriously impressive and takes up a huge chunk of the runtime. The main character is tough and fierce-definitely not someone I'd want as my enemy. Plus, he handles some solid dramatic moments alongside the fight scenes.
Overall, I'd recommend "Russkiy Reyd" to anyone who enjoys good action flicks. It also does a great job showcasing the issue of illegal takeovers. Unfortunately, these things are still happening today, and it's definitely worth talking about.
Onegin (2024)
New adaptation of the world famous novel
There have been several screen adaptations of Alexander Pushkin's famous novel 'Eugene Onegin', but the most recent was released in 1999. Therefore, a new version of this story has long been anticipated, and its director is Sarik Andreasyan. Although he has mostly directed comedy films in the past, he has become more interested in emotional and intense dramas in recent years. It is not surprising that he decided to take on 'Eugene Onegin'.
The movie's plot takes place in 19th century Russia and follows the story of Eugene Onegin, a young aristocrat who becomes disillusioned with the fast-paced life of St. Petersburg. He decides to leave the city and retreat to his uncle's countryside estate, where his uncle is gravely ill. Away from the bustle of the city, Onegin meets Tatiana Larina, a charming and beautiful girl. Initially, the hero ran away from his feelings for her, but love eventually caught up with him.
The plot and dramatic ending will be familiar to those who have read Pushkin's original novel. The movie's authors respected the beloved story and did not make any changes. In terms of plot development, everything is predictable, which is a good thing since the classics should remain indestructible.
I want to separately praise the cast, particularly Victor Dobronravov who played Eugene Onegin. He made the character interesting, emotionally challenging, which was captivating to watch.
Liza Moryak portrayed Tatiana Larina in the movie, the girl who attracted Onegin and evoked emotions he had never experienced before. Moryak's performance was confident and sensual, captivating the audience's attention.
In my opinion, 'Onegin' is a remarkable film and an outstanding adaptation of a timeless classic.
Komandir (2024)
A General Became a Legend
The name of Gennady Zaitsev is known in many countries of the world, because this is not just a general, but a true legend of anti-terrorist operations. The movie "Komandir" was released, which is based on his biography, and I will say that it is definitely worth seeing. It is a fascinating story about the life of a great man and a gripping thriller about hostage-taking.
The plot describes a large span of Gennady Zaytsev's biography, which ranges from 10 to 54 years. We see Zaytsev as a young child during World War II, and gradually watch him grow up, join the army, and eventually become a prominent officer of the Soviet security services.
I like the performance of the actor Kirill Zaitsev. He plays the main role here. It is interesting to follow him, he plays confidently and emotionally. Thanks to him the general looks as interesting and attractive as possible.
The most important part of the movie is the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in the city of Ordzhonikidze. Here we get to see and experience the real Drama. The movie keeps you in suspense and makes you worry about the outcome of the events, even though you know how everything will end.
It is a strong dramatic work that tells the real story of a real hero, and I recommend you to watch it.
Na oshchup (2022)
His road was never easy
Few things can make a modern person go to the forests, leaving the apartment and the blessings of civilization and communication with friends. This requires a serious reason. If you nevertheless decided on this, then you should understand that it definitely won't be that easy for you, and in the film "Na oshchup" we see what sometimes a person, who has decided to leave ordinary life behind and become a real outcast, has to endure.
Victor has big problems with his son, he can no longer live the old life, work, have ordinary small talk with his acquaintances. For him, all this becomes a burden, from which he flees into a small cabin among the thick woods. Here, Victor can lead the life he wants. But during the hunt he loses his sight and the story takes on a very tense tone.
There are kilometers of woods around Victor, there is no one to wait for help from. At the same time, he needs to look for food and watch out wild animals. And since he sees practically nothing, this task becomes extremely difficult and dangerous.
It was very interesting for me to follow the main character and his actions in an extreme situation. The film was shot incredibly exciting and interesting, you literally catch every step of our hero and worry about him, as if everything shown on the screen is happening to you here and now. The effect of presence is simply incredible.
So, it's worth watching "Na oschup" on large screens. The film is interesting and definitely deserves the attention of the audience.
Bolshoe puteshestvie. Spetsialnaya dostavka (2022)
Ahead of a good deed and many, many adventures!
I love watching adventure films and cartoons with children. To be honest, cartoons have always seemed nicer and more pleasant to me. So I ran into the problem that recently there has been some kind of real crisis - it is almost impossible to find a cool soulful cartoon for the evening. Only one that really touches adults. But then came the "Big Trip 2: Special Delivery".
Of course, we started watching a little wrong, we just didn't know that there was the first part. But we liked this cartoon so much that there was not even a question whether to watch the first film. Just amazing characters and story? Even the music itself is so catchy. My favorite character is bear Mik-Mik. He is so kind, I want to hug him, and he is so sweet with these bees ... Sheer pleasure!
I was also very touched by how, despite the fact that this is an absolutely children's film, the characters are shown here in many ways, what a touching issue. It's not a heavy drama though, so there's no need to cry, but there are some sad, deep moments. The actions and deeds of the main characters teach to be responsive, polite, kind, always ready to help both friends and complete strangers.
And in general, the cartoon itself is bright, filled with life and fun. He will definitely be able to cheer up not only children, but the whole family, make they smile and laugh heartily. It's very cool when such simple stories evoke such pleasant emotions. So, it is sometimes useful for adults to watch this too.
1703 (2022)
Now they're out hunting
Any city at night becomes completely different from what it is during the day. And St. Petersburg is no exception. As you know, this is not only the northern capital of Russia but also the center of the country's cultural life. This is where interesting personalities come to create art, and sometimes break the law. And since there are much more crimes at night than during the day, the best of the best should patrol the city after sunset. Well, or those who fall out of favor.
The young police officer Vadik arrives in St. Petersburg to live with his girlfriend Masha and starts working in the police department, where the experienced investigator Gosha becomes his partner. At first, things don't go smoothly for them. Gosha considers Vadik a burden, but teamwork gradually makes the policemen, if not friends, then real partners for sure.
The first thing I liked about the show was its extraordinary atmosphere. It was shot in the streets of St. Petersburg, without decorations and pavilions. I really appreciate this, because the story literally captures you from the first episode and you you unknownly plunge headlong.
I'm looking forward to the next season. So far, 1703 is my favorite out of all recent shows. This is not only an fascinating detective story, but also a black comedy, as well as a colorful noir. So, feel free to watch. You will definitely enjoy it.
Chto delat zhenshchine, esli... (2022)
Who will the woman who has everything choose?
Anya is really a woman who has everything: money, a classy prestigious profession, a beloved son and the boundless attention of men. But what if among all of them you have to choose only one at a time, as there are two that you like equally strongly? It seems that here Anya is completely powerless with her connections and money.
But let's throw some more fuel on the fire. It turns out that the beloved son of a spender is expecting a baby from his girlfriend from Pakistan, who is already ... 9 months pregnant! And now they have to go either to Pakistan or here - in Moscow. For Anna, as for a grandmother, the choice is, of course, obvious. But now she to abandon your plan with a man ... Or at least change it. After all, now she needs to look not just for a lover, but for a grandfather for her son's daughter. Yes, it happens that one day your life changes dramatically.
Despite the defiant appearance, the series is very kind and pleasant. I love this kind of smooth and light humor, especially when it's just a show about life, without any crazy plot twists. Although, isn't the pregnancy of a Pakistani girlfriend's son a crazy plot twist? And the series has very nice music and sound in general. Here it is, in itself, even some kind of relaxing, calm. This is actually more fun to watch.
In short, the series is worth it. Don't judge it by a single trailer or description - it'si a lot deeper and sweeter on his own. I will continue to look further. I think there will only be more interesting events, and we will be able to learn more about all the characters.
Amanat (2022)
Never forget to be human even in the hardest times
In today's world it is very difficult to stay away from politics and history. But the protagonist of the "Amanat" film became a real hostage to this politics exactly. Actually, the name of the film speaks for itself. But even in such a difficult position for him, being able to remain a real human, he did not forget about honor, pride and duty to both homelands: to the one that gave birth, and to the one that raised.
Very strong, deep, gripping story. So many details can be found here. And Dagestan cultural features and values are also shown in a very unusual way. I generally keep quiet about the beauty of landscapes and nature - it's like a real art form. Great movie!
Offlayn (2022)
Don't click on suspicious links
In the smartphone of any person, you can find lots of apps. But I advise you to choose carefully those that you want to install, otherwise you may get into real troubles like new Offline series characters.
The story tells about the creators and users of the BeHappy application. It lets you to buy drugs. But someone unknown hacked it, and here the fun begins. The hacker invites everyone involved in BeHappy to play a game, and if you lose, you die.
The series is really interesting and dynamic. Huge number of events take place from the very first episode and you will never guess what happen next.
So, I advise you to move closer to the screen and look very carefully. There will be a lot of fascinating things!
Zvyozdniy razum (2022)
A mission that cannot be failed
I've always loved Alien and Pandorum films. There is something intriguing and mesmerizing about them, but recently nothing worthwhile has come out in such a genre. Therefore, when I came across the "Project Gemini" trailer, I wanted to see this film, and it was a rather pleasant surprise.
The plot takes place in the distant future, when people have already learned to fly to other planets. On one of them, life is theoretically possible, and a group of researchers rushes there to try to make a planet suitable for colonization. But, as it turned out, something terrible dwells here, and it won't be possible to become friends with that creature.
The film turned out to be really interesting. There are not only high-quality special effects, but also a well-thought-out story. I don't notice unnecessary scenes here, the personalities of the characters are revealed in detail and, in general, the intrigue does not subside until the very end.
It is worth watching in the cinema since you can fully enjoy a story that is both intriguing, frightening and mesmerizing on the big screen. Good work!
Soviet design (2021)
Without the past there is neither present nor future
In childhood just a few of us thought about the story of well-known Soviet tracksuit with patterns, or how the famous Zenit camera differs from European and American equivalents. But lately I've became really interested in how these iconic things appeared and their true history. Frankly speaking, I wasn't interested in finding out that stuff in books, but thanks to the "Soviet Design" show, which in a laconic and very interesting form tells us about famous and popular things from the past, I managed to learn lots of interesting things about history, which shouldn't be forgotten.
To begin with, all the episodes last about 15 minutes, and therefore we don't have time to get bored. The format of the show is dynamic, there is no time for unnecessary reasoning and philosophy. "Soviet Design" focuses on the most important things.
In the first four episodes, we are told about how the legendary Zenit camera appeared, as well as about the emergence of the Soviet tracksuit, school uniform and a poster that could be observed both on the bulletin board at the university and on the street. Moreover, all the facts are told animatedly, fascinatingly and so that you remember them on the fly. These are what lessons should be - interesting to both adults and children.
I would also like to praise the selection of guests who, in each episode of "Soviet Design", talk about things that have rightfully gone down in history. Believe me, there are definitely no random personalities here - each character is directly related to the subject and has something to tell and to captivate our attention.
I think that "Soviet Design" will be of interest to the widest circle of viewers, because this is a truly interesting project, watching it time flies by and you want to see the next episode as soon as possible.
Nefutbol (2021)
Now it's girls time!
Many people recklessly believe that football is just a man's business while girls should better do rhythmic gymnastics and chess or stuck behind the stove at home. They definitely shouldn't show up on the on football pitch once again. However, in my opinion, these all are outdated stereotypes that need to be revised. So when the new sports comedy "Nefutbol" about the women's football team was released, I extremely wanted to watch it, because it promised to be pretty fun.
Briefly about the plot. In the central character is Danya Belykh performed by Lyubov Aksenova. From the very school the girl was into football and even joined the adult professional league. Now Danya is the team captain, but she still has a lot of challenges ahead, as her home club is on the verge of extinction. Only old teammates can help her otherwise Danya can simply forget about future cups.
The most important thing here is that the movie is easy to handle, in one breath. The story is dynamic, there are no unnecessary scenes, and the jokes are resourceful and funny. At the same time, "Nefutbol" demonstrates its audience that in some aspects of life girls are in no way inferior to men, and maybe even surpass them. At the same time, there is no bitter feminism here. The authors accurately and at the same time plainly show us their position, without minimizing anyone's qualities - neither female nor male.
So the movie is definitely worth watching! It is fascinating, it contains smart ideas, and high-quality humor will amuse even the pickiest viewer. "Nefutbol" bursts onto the screens and wins dry. The comedy is really worthwhile.
Dzhetlag (2021)
There are different kinds of love
Everyone deserves true love. It's just pointless to live without it. However, not everybody manages to build their romantic relationships in such a way that everything is perfect and joyful since the very beginning. Some people have a long and arduous way to go before realizing where exactly their happiness is. Actually, the new romantic tragicomedy 'Jetlag' focuses on the search for the most important thing in the life of any person.
The film tells us about a strict businesswoman Zhenya and the creative romantic Nikita. Sometimes, it's hard to believe that such divergent people can be together. The couple quarrels and fly away from one airport to different parts of the world.
The air road brings Zhenya to Berlin, and Nikita ends up in Thailand. It seems that everything between them is over, but in fact, their story is just beginning. So you need to get ready for the most interesting and watch how this extraordinary love story will be developing.
This film was a great revelation for me, cause the authors of "Jetlag" understood exactly who they were shooting their film about and for. We are shown the problems that unite people from different countries, be it Russia, Germany or the United States. We all dream of personal happiness, career, travel and money. It is quite possible to achieve all this, but first you need to achieve agreement with yourself, and then everything will follow and life will become much brighter and happier.
Thus, I'd like to recommend 'Jetlag' to all those who expects to see not just another romantic comedy, but a smart picture that holds attention from start to finish. I think you might like it.
Proklyatyy chinovnik (2021)
Neither give nor take
It was high time to shoot a comedy about officials and corruption. Furthermore, do it without an excessive "childish" morality but with a little bit of spunk to be remembered for a long time. This issue is very relevant and fascinating. And I enjoyed the way Sarik Andreasyan showed in his film.
Just imagine where the life of a Russian official will lead him if he just can't take any bribes! This is exactly what happened to Fedor, the protagonist of the new comedy «Proklyatyy chinovnik». And all the troubles happened because one shouldn't be rude and refuse granny's requests, especially when it comes to a place in the cemetery. Even the sweetest pensioner can turn out to be a witch and cast a terrible curse. And now Fyodor'll have to get out of a very difficult situation, cause there are cases when it is DEADLY essential to take a bribe.
The comedy is really cool and fresh. It doesn't contain vulgarity and stupidity, lively humor and in some places it's rather sharp, turning into satire from time to time. Situations are extremely vital, the characters aren't stereotypical, and, most importantly, not static. They open up and develop, changing before our eyes. We can get identify ourselves and our environment in them. The dialogues are casual, quite natural. You watch and believe everything that happens.
The acting is also splendid. Of course, here we have a lot of famous actors with excellent works under their belts: Lagashkin, Arzamasova, Volkova. It's nicenot only to watch them, but also to listen to.
To sum up, this film's everything for a great pastime: smart, competent humor, modern plot, strong characters, played by talented actors and the right message.
Chikatilo (2021)
Murderer in the crowd
The series "Chikatilo" tells us the story of the most dangerous maniac of the USSR. He was being hunted for ages, the investigation resulted in a deadlock many times. Some innocent people were convicted, but finally the murderer was caught and in this series we are able to follow progress and details of the investigation which helped to expose Chikatilo and put him on trial.
The maniac himself is played by Dmitry Nagiyev and he does a tremendous dramatic work. You look at him and you see the real slaughterer. It's a really powerful reincarnation. Nagiyev plays a kind, decent family man and a terrible monster that kills without a shadow of a doubt at the same time.
In addition, I would like to emphasize the strong direction of Sarik Andreasyan, who has repeatedly proved that he is a confident drama director. After mastering his skills on "Neproshchennyy" and "Zemletryasenie", Andreasyan approached the creation of "Chikatilo" with all confidence, an assertive and catchy show that will instantly dragging the audience into its essence.
"Chikatilo" came out as a strong, tense show. I advise all fans of the thriller genre to watch it. You'll definitely like it. Pay special attention to Nagiyev! He gives out the strongest acting here.
Byvshaya (2021)
She's coming after you
Making a quality horror movie is actually not that easy. This is a great responsibility to the audience who hai already seen such cult films as "Insidious", "The Conjuring" and "Paranormal Activity". However, only several films of the genre released in the past few years actually deserve attention. One of these horror films, personally, I consider "Ex".
The story tells us about a young girl Katya is going to marry her beloved boyfriend Sasha and everything seems to be perfect but then suddenly strange stuff starts happening around our couple. Sasha's former lover sends the guy odd messages, and Katya begins to feel that someone is watching her even when she knows for sure that there can be no one around. This means that mysticism is definitely involved in the case.
The film won me over with its tense atmosphere and a large number of high-quality screamers. The creators skillfully escalate the tension and close to the finale you sit on the edge of the chair, covering your eyes with your hands, and get ready for the worst. And you can believe me, "Ex" will not disappoint your expectations and the climax of the film is worthy.
Thus, the film is definitely remarkable. This is the one of those few horror films that are truly frightening and make you peer into the darkness with caution, because something creepy can definitely hide there.
The Courier (2020)
On the verge of World War III
Even if you know the history superficially, you certainly couldn't help but hear about the "Cuban Missile Crisis" that took place nearby Cuba in the early 60s of the 20th century. Then the USSR and the USA almost started a new global war, however everything worked out eventually. Now we will find who we've to be thankful for resolving the conflict and making the sky above our heads calm again.
The protagonist of the film is British businessman Greville Wynne who is involved in financial affairs around the world. Thanks to his charisma and a
silver tongue Wynn finds friends everywhere and now he is recruited by the British special services so that upon arrival in Moscow he would get in touch with a local defector and transmit important information to London.
I've watched lots of spy films, but this one's gone deep into my soul. To start with, I really appreciated the stylization, as if the film was actually filmed in the 60s. Besides, I can't fail to mention the actors, Benedict Cumberbatch is beyond comparison, he actually doesn't know how to play badly. I also loved Merab Ninidze as a Russian agent who decided to help England and the United States in the battle against the USSR.
So the film is really remarkable, it is a great pleasure to watch it. The tension won't let you go until the very end, and I can highly recommend it to you.
What Lies Below (2020)
The truth is far scarier than you might think
If you assumed that intriguing, captivating and truly unpredictable mystical thrillers were a thing of the past, then you should definitely check out "What lies below". The film has a number of strong points from an elaborated script to a first-rate cast.
The story revolves around a young girl named Liberty whose mother takes on an attractive man. Together they head to a remote country house, and this is where things get interesting
Liberty notices that John is acting weird, though Mom says that everything is ok. The more time characters spend together, away from the city, the more suspicious a mysterious man seems to be as he's definitely not that simple.
The film bribes with disturbing and eerie atmosphere, which is constantly thickening. Something wicked is certainly hidden behind John's smile, and Liberty should really worry about it, since it's almost impossible to call for help and she is practically one-on-one with her opponent, not taking into account the mother blinded by love.
I advise you not to let "What lies below" past your attention, since this story can easily enthrall and even make you shiver. A strong mystical thriller is now a rarity after all.
Zoya (2020)
She couldn't act otherwise
Lots of history books have been written about Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya so far, as she was the very first woman to receive the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Schools, streets and warships were named after her. Tankers proudly branded their tanks with "Zoya" name while attacking Berlin. Nonetheless the modern generation knows faintly nothing about what exactly Kosmodemyanskaya became famous for, however, this film's going put everything right.
As you see from the name, the main character here is Zoya herself. We meet her as a schoolgirl who is in love with a nice guy. It's summer ahead, time for relaxation and hope. Everything was good and joyful until the tragic date of June 22 came. It was then that Nazi Germany attacked the USSR, and all the young people headed to the front to defend their country. Zoya also found herself among the volunteers, and here's where the story turns serious.
Kosmodemyanskaya didn't go to a military hospital, didn't enter the disposal of some strategic facility, but picked out a sabotage detachment for herself. It is not easy for even old hand soldiers here, not to mention a fragile girl. Nonetheless Zoya set a target and did everything to make her name go down in history.
The film is fascinating because it is based on the memories of people who lived into the era of Kosmodemyanskaya and might have even known her. In addition, the authors gained access to important historical documents, and therefore the recreation of those tragic and at the same time heroic events corresponds to the canons of truth, which simply cannot be rewritten, no matter how anyone tries.
In the second half a real rough drama begins, since the Germans begin torturing the protagonist and it make you shiver and really frightens. Sensitive audience should take this into account. But I believe that it's quite right to demonstrate such episodes. As we simply have no right to allow anything of the kind to happen in the future!
In general, "Zoya" is a decent movie, which I highly recommend to all connoisseurs of high-quality military cinematography, it shows history as it was. Unvarnished and without falsehood. Look carefully and draw your own conclusions.
Pereval Dyatlova (2020)
Great series
The most famous TV series in the world, based on a rather sorrowful page from the history of the USSR is without a doubt "Chernobyl". But now a new series has emerged - «Dead mountain. The Dyatlov Pass Incident» - that is also based on real and rather terrible events dated back to the USSR , and I'm wondering if it will become an international sensation?
The series is built around a widely known tragedy that happened in the Ural mountains in 1959. A group of tourists set off on a ski hike but at the appointed time hadn't reached its destination point. Several days later criminalists were sent out to look for the tourists and only by May all 9 bodies were found. The skiers died under mysterious circumstances. Tremendous amount of versions were built around this tragedy, but the incident still remains unsolved - even 60 years after the event. Can the series shed light on that ill-fated night?
The main protagonist is the KGB major Oleg Kostin. He is sent from Moscow to either establish the truth or to cover it up. Kostin is a former veteran of WWII, and in his military past there is a certain ominous encounter that the authors do not put on the table immediately.
The series was shot in the style of "Soviet Noir": an atmospheric retro vibe shot on film. Despite the rapidly changing events, the mood is quite unhurried. It doesn't give you a feeling of senseless action sequence, «Dead Mountain» gives a viewer an opportunity to think and get absorbed by the event. Camera work is truly outstanding - gloriously shot mountain scenery, remarkable camera angles, unusual jumps and moves.
«Dead mountain» is for those who love TV series based on real events, who like to time travel into the past in search for answers. It is both stylish and captivating.
Doktor Liza (2020)
They are human - they need help too
Good always wins. This simple truth is very important to remember, especially in our tough times.
The film "Doktor Liza" tells us about real, humanity's sense of good.
The film tells about a day in the life of Elizaveta Glinka - a delicate though incredibly strong woman who was engaged in palliative care and aid to the homeless.
"Everyone needs help and everyone deserves it," Doctor Liza was convinced.
The storyline of the picture consists of amazing stories that happen to Liza throughout the day.
Help a little girl, calm her parents down, get a diploma for the fight against the world's evil for a locksmith and urgently find a kid. It turns out that you can do a lot in one day! And you are definitely able to save a person's life.
What a wonderful cast of actors! Khamatova, Khabenskiy, Burkovskiy seem to live the lives of their heroes!
The whole film you sit and think - I want to help people in the same way. When the film is over you understand that you are able to help people too!
Guns Akimbo (2019)
Firing in all directions
Daniel Radcliffe is no longer just the guy who starred in Harry Potter. To prove that he is a real actor and not a creature of one character, Radcliffe has continued to risk it all in a wide variety of his artistic experiments. He is ready to appear naked on stage in a potentially perilous performance, he then went with a movie crew to film in an actual jungle and he now plays in a movie where the plot goes non-stop and there can be no respite from action at all.
The main character of the movie is an unfortunate reclusive video game developer who never parts with a cup of coffee and tends to spend his weekends at home wearing a dirty robe. However, one day, everything changes when Miles is pulled out and forced to become a member of a dangerous game called "SKIZM". The purpose of the event seems simple, but that is a dangerous misconception. Homicidal lunatics are running the streets and firing at each other. Viewers pay money to watch this event, its sadistic organizers are pleased by its chaos. It is only the participants who can never feel safe.
This is really crazy but a totally enthralling experience. The movie is really interesting and holds viewers in complete suspense. You just sit and keep an eye on Radcliffe, who had transformed for this role and does not even look like himself. His hero, Miles, is a typical nonstarter, but at the same time he has the kind of luck most people can only dream of in real life. All this may be fantastic, but it is fun and smashing from beginning to end.
The verdict: You have to go and watch this movie; because it is not often that you will feel this much adrenaline! I definitely want to view Guns Akimbo one more time!
Marafon zhelaniy (2020)
Never give up on your dreams!
"Marafon zhelaniy" is a wonderful romantic comedy. It motivates and teaches us how to reach our goals despite any difficulties and problems. It's quite fresh and extremely feminine.
The plot is pretty standard. The provincial girl Marina, who works in a beauty salon, desperately wants to get married but the circumstances are against. So she has two options - surrender the destiny and give up dreaming or fight for future. The girl chooses the second one and buys a ticket to Khanty-Mansiysk since her best friend Liza signed them up for a motivational seminar with some magic coach in lead. Here Marina's adventures start.
I liked the idea of one-location action, furthermore the location is an airport. It reminded me The Terminal by Spielberg a little bit. Though, Marina's adventures are a little bit different. During the film we saw almost all the parts of airport starting from runway and ending with toilet.
Humor and characters make the movie. All of characters are interesting and close-to-life. Aglaya Tarasova, performing Marina, is marvelous. You can't stop admiring her. She is smart, hard-working, determined and very lovely. And her dialect is her highlight. The cast is superb.
There are no dirty or super stupid gags, humor is exquisite and light, I read that actors improvised a lot during the shooting so lots of jokes were invented on the spot, plus comedy guru Gudkov wrote dialogs.
I would recommend to watch the comedy to all the girls with a good sense of humor. You'll definitely like it!
