Animal (2023)
Brutal storytelling with convection!
"Animal," Sandeep Reddy Vanga's third cinematic venture, delves into the affection of a young kid for his father, gradually reaching toxic levels. The first half of the movie lacks a linear storyline, while the second half adopts a straightforward approach to storytelling. The issue arises as the story seems simple and entertaining in the first half, but complexity arises in the second half, featuring scenes that feel like a break in continuity.
This isn't an action movie; it's more of a drama where almost 90% of the content is dramatic. Every actor in the movie delivers a phenomenal performance. Some scenes, such as killing someone and engaging in a physical relationship suddenly with blood all over you, or dancing nude in public, are challenging to portray onscreen convincingly. The post-credit scene is also noteworthy, and I won't spoil it.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's cinematic framing is beautiful, and credit goes to the cinematography team. The background score serves as the heartbeat of the movie, flowing throughout and pleasing the audience. The only drawback in the technical aspect is the editing; some scenes, like the recovery scenes of Ranbir Kapoor's character, feel unnecessary.
Certain characters are introduced but left unexplored, like the bodyguard beaten for being with Ranbir's character when he stood up against those who offended his sister. Despite Ranbir's character promising to remember him, the story forgets him. Shakti Kapoor's character remains unjustified throughout the movie.
A significant complaint is the underutilization of Bobby Deol. He doesn't come across as an antagonist; although he looks villainous, his limited screen presence hampers audience connection. Despite a powerful backstory, his character is not explored enough, making this 3-hour-22-minute movie feel empty regarding his role.
Despite these issues, I recommend this movie because Bollywood hasn't witnessed anything like this before. It takes courage to create such a film, and Sandeep Reddy Vanga executes it convincingly. Kudos to him. With the promise of a sequel, I hope the sequel will also maintain the same brutal honesty in storytelling.
Qala (2022)
This is a beautiful cinematic painting not for everyone but for everyone !!
Movie: Qala
Director: Anvita Dutt
Starring: Tripti Dimri, Babil Khan and Swastika Mukherjee
Genere: Psychological period drama
OTT: Netflix
This isn't a movie, this is an art which will be remembered for years and years to come. Every frame is a beautiful painting, I can't remember any Hindi movie which was made so beautifully like a painting.
This is a story of a girl who wants to be a successful singer so that she can make her mother proud but when she kissed success she is haunted by her own dark past. Is the success she always dreamt worth it ? Is she guilty ? Is her mother guilty ? OR is there someone else who is guilty ?
Hands down to the director Anvita Dutt for bringing this beautiful story in motion picture. Even though we are familiar with these kind of stories Anvita Dutt's way of telling the story is a perfection, she nailed it.
The performance of actors in this movie is top notch. The way they express their situation with their facial expressions with out any dialogues is praise worthy. The way they sit, sleep, speak, smoke, dance, act takes us to 1940 of which the story is. There is not a single scene in the movie where the actors came below perfection.
The cinematography of this movie is one of the best aspect of this movie. The way they decided to shoot this movie is something we rarely see in a Bollywood movie. Mirror scenes are captured so beautifully leaving us wonder how the cinematographer managed to capture the scene. Talking about the cinematography there is a scene where a guy is enjoying a sexual benefit form Qala and the scene fades out from a wall slowly showing us the facial expression of the guy and rotates around to stop in front of a statue with its mouth open. That was beautifully captured symboling us what was happening.
The next beautiful thing about the movie was the music. In the time of TikTok, reels and shorts this movie is filled with classical music and background scores which will hit your heart directly. They are gem, every tone - every words in the songs are beautiful.
Other aspects like editing, costume design and set design has its own pleasure. The editor knew how the director wanted to show every frame to tell us the story of Qala. The set design of this movie takes you to 1940 Calcutta. The fashion designer designed costume for every character reflecting their respective dominance in the story.
This movie has its heart and soul in it. This is a perfect way to tell everyone that bad parenting can kill your kid mentally and also physically.
This is an art movie which is of course not for everyone but if you have time, watch this movie because this movie hugely deserves your attention.

Monica O My Darling (2022)
This movie tries to impress and it success !!
Move: Monica, O My Darling
Starring: Rajkumar Rao, Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte
Director: Vasan Bala
Genre: Neo-noir, Crime comedy thriller film
OTT platfrm: Netflix
This movie tries hard to impress and it succeds. The best thing in this movie is the performance performance by leading actors. Rajkumar Rao shines in is role so des Huma Qureshi as Monica and Radhika Apte as the police officer.
Story is good but we have seen these kind of stories earlier too but while watching this movie I was going with the flow and I totally forgot the ovies with same storylines earlier. Kudos to the screenplay writers for this. The cinematography of this movie is catchy as well as the background score of this movie gives life to the scenes.
Talking about the drawbacks, this movie sometime lacks logic. The comedy could have been better but its okay though.
If you are free and you have access to Netflix then this movie deserves your time, give it a chance.

Bhoot Police (2021)
Horriable Outdated Predictable Boring
This horror comedy fails to make you afraid nor it makes you laugh !!
The childishness outruns the quirkiness of this Pavan Kirpalani's directorial. Even though, relevant one-liners on nepotism and references to go-corona-go are hilarious. Talking about the story, its predictable and outdated. The technical aspect of the movie is outdated too, as the VFX of the movie looks cringe. The background score of the movie is extremely loud and unpleasant.
Saif Ali Khan comes across as an odd mix of trying too hard to be funny and not trying at all to be invested in his character. Arjun and Yami are sincere yet very poor in acting department. Jacqueline and Saif seem more like tourists in Dharamshala, who chose to act in this film as a pastime. A special mention to, Johnny Lever's talented daughter Jamie Lever. Her character singing Aishwarya Rai's dreamy romantic number 'Aao Na', while her husband struggles to take a dump has you rolling with laughter.
AVOID THIS MOVIE if you are a fan of quality cinema, but if you take cinema for entertainment only and doesn't care about logic then watch this movie for Jamie Lever.
Bhuj: The Pride of India (2021)
This is a parody of a war movie !!
#BhujThePrideOfIndia is undoubtedly one of the worst war movie ever made in the history of cinema. This movie is made so badly that I didn't even found even a single praise worthy point. Pakistani soldiers on a war field and they don't have guns I mean why would Pakastani soldier carry guns while trying to invade India. Indian soldiers are shown so dumb that when air raid siren blast soldiers instead of saving assets or going to bunker they keep on looking up to the Pakistani fighter planes as if suddenly after the siren Indian soldiers turns into statue. There are fighter planes flying near sonic speed fighting with Pakistani fighter planes and the pilots are talking about what they are going to do after the war. Their is a Punjabi soldier who is always so depressed and when his aircraft crashes to sea and the depressed Punjabi soldier swims to shore. He doesn't even bail out even when the aircraft crashes. There is war going on and you have information that the enemy are half their way to attack you but the Indian side got no chill, they come up with huge drums to sing song. The CGI of this movie is so childish, it looks as if it is not an A grade movie this is some kid's animated show. The leopard or the blast scenes every CGI portions looks very bad.
This is a parody of a war movie where the main actress Sonakshi Sinha seems to be inspired by watching some cringe tiktokers that she acts like them. Dialogues of this movie are just cheeky and the screenplay is absolutely pathetic.
It is clear that the makers were only tricking to sell this movie in the name of patriotism. This movie is a big NO from my side.
Shershaah (2021)
For the first time in a war movie I enjoyed the romantic portions !!
Comes with the usual army-movies cliches, Sidartha Malhotra as Vikram Batra in #Shershaah nails the character's tone but also his quirky personality. Watch the end-credits, which has an interview of Vikram Batra & you'll realize how amazingly well Sidharth has embodied him in the film's same scene. Kiara Advani's cuteness gives her character Dimple an alluring touch. I am so happy with the supporting characters they won my heart.
As this is a biographical movie of Captain Vikram Batra known as Shershaah in army, this movie takes you to a journey of a young filmy Punjabi boy who wants to serve his nation as an army officer, how he fell in love with Dimple, his journey from university to army and celebrates his bravery in army.
The screenplay and direction of the movie is sharp and engaging. Usually I don't like songs in movies but the timing of songs in this movie, the tune, lyrics made me fall in the love with the songs too. This is probably my first time where I loved the romantic portion in a war movie. Kiara and Sidhartha's chemistry is something to praise. The VFX of the movie is so properly done that the blast scenes looks so real and the cinematography adds more beauty. I was so invested in the action scenes, the visualization of the movie that I wept out when Vikram was shot dead.
There are also few drawbacks in the movie like its predictable, character's fake Punjabi accent and whenever a character talks about going home or his family he dies as it happens in almost all war movies.
This movie undoubtedly deserves your time, watch it now on Amazon Prime.
Sarpatta parambarai (2021)
Lengthy yet completely engaging, deep and political without breaking any clichés
#SarpattaParambari is lengthy yet completely engaging, deep and political without breaking any clichés. Director Pa. Ranjith creates a world full of characters with flesh and blood. Sarpatta Parambari, is one of the best boxing films India has produced in term of story and screenplay. Arya nailed it as Kabilan, an amateur boxer who is prohibited to do boxing because of his mother. His physique, his performance is extremely eye catching. Pasupathy, as Kabilan's boxing coach is natural. Anupama Kumar as Kabilan's mother & Dushara Vijayan as Kabilan's wife are delight to watch. All the actors have portrayed their character very well.
One thing I loved about this movie was the boxing choreography, the way camera moves makes us feel we are watching it live in the ring. The background score is extremely pleasure to hear. Street fight scenes are extremely well presented, hats off the the director and the editor. This is a watch watch movie if you are a sports movie lover.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
This one is horribly beautiful
From the horribly beautiful mind of James Gunn, The Suicide Squad is finally out and is a non-stop joyride from start to finish. The Suicide Squad felt like a love letter to DC nerds everywhere, willing to engulf its main cast in the wacky regalia of their comic counterparts, where many other films of the genre would typically shy away in favour of tactical jumpsuits.
Talking about the performance, my darling Harley Quinn's character is portrayed once again by the Margot Robbie and she is always so freaking awesome. It seems as if she was born to play the character of Harley Quinn. Idris Elba, as Bloodsport is good. John Cena as Peacemaker is so dumb good and his chemistry with Bloodsport is extremely entertaining to watch. Daniela Melchior, as Ratcatcher is so cute to watch. The rest of the character are also very good.
The background music, cinematography, action choreography, editing are of world class. The story of the movie is horribly beautiful just like the mind of James Gunn. This movie breaks the rule of plot armour and is a perfect standalone movie.
This trash poetry of James Gunn, shows its R rating violence in a stylish and comedic way to justify the title of the movie The Suicide Squad.
You may be wondering whether this is a remake of, or a sequel to, David Ayer's 2016 Suicide Squad. It's a reasonable question. But one which new writer-director James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) answers by effectively saying: 'Don't worry about all that. Let's just have some fun.'
Note: There is a post credit scene so wait for the end !!
Jungle Cruise (2021)
Watch this old fashioned typical Dismey's fantasy ride for Emily Blunt
Jungle Cruise, is a typical Disney fantasy movie where protagonist as well as antagonist are in a journey to hunt treasure as they believe the stories told by the legends are real. I have seen Dwayne Johnson earlier in JUMANJI and this is nothing new for him. But, Emily Blunt after A QUIET PLACE II she did this with such a delight it was outstanding. Jack Whitehall as McGregor is a comedic relief to watch and Jesse Plemons as Prince Joachim is okay.
I didn't enjoyed the story of the movie that really, maybe because I have seen a lot of fantasy with with almost same storyline. There is a twist in this movie on who really is Dwayne Johnson's character Frank but that wasn't really enough atleast for me.
As this is a fantasy movie, a lot of VFX is used and it is done in a good way, I really enjoyed the VFX of this movie. The background music of this movie could have been better. The runtime of the movie could have been shortened in editing. Talking about direction, the directorial aspect of the movie is okay. As this is a Disney's product and is targeted to kids and is rated PG-13, don't watch this movie with an expectation of seeing some violent action scenes. There are action scenes where characters get hurt and also die but are choreographed in a comedic way talking kids in mind.
So, watch this movie if you have time and you are ready for one more Dwayne Johnson fantasy movie.
Black Widow (2021)
Better then Wonder Woman 1984 !!
Just finished watching the Marvel's Black Widow. Black Widow shows the story of one of our favourite character from MCU our beloved Black Widow. This movie answers almost all the question we earlier had about Natasha's character. We finally got to know the origin of Black Widow, we now know Clint and Nat were hiding in a small place in Budapest for two days & now we know what Red Room is.
Talking about the merits and demerits of this movie, here I would clearly like to mention that I loved this movie a lot more then Wonder Woman 1984. I was already emotionally attached with the character of Black Widow, and this movie introduced us with her second family. Few may find the emotional portion of the movie a little low but for me it was beautiful. The action scenes and its cinematography is top notch and the background music gives it more life. The CGI of the movie matches the level MCU has made for themselves. Scarlet Johanson is so perfect as Black Widow and we are going to miss her a lot as Black Widow. Florence Pugh as Yelena is so perfect hats off to the casting directors. It will be a delight to see Florence portraying Yelena and how she fits the shoe of Natasha. David Harbour as Alexi is so convincing that he makes us believe this funny character to be the nemesis of Captain America.
Talking about the demerit of the movie, the antagonist of the movie isn't as frightening as he should have. I was personally hoping Taskmaster to be more dangerous.
This is a treat from MCU to its fans, and its sure MCU's fans aren't going to miss this tribute to Natasha Romanoff.
4/5**
The Tomorrow War (2021)
This is no new concept but isn't boring though !!
Alien invasion, time travel, saving the world, a female comanding officer and a guy who fights beyond time doesn't this sounds too much familier with the Tom Cruise's "Edge Of Tomorrow" but trust me The Tomorrow War nowhere comes near Edge Of Tomorrow, that doesn't means that this movie is bad, its dumb but its also fast, loud and entertaining.
Talking about the merits and demerits of the movie I would like to point what that this movie would have been a different experience if it woud have got a theatrical release because the VFX, background music, cinematography are top notch for a theatrical experience. The acting performance of all the actors are above average and Chris Pratt is as always brilliant on what he does.
The demerit of the movie is its sceeenplay which fails to make a connection between us the viewers and the characters of the movie. Its runtime of 2 hours and 18 minutes is something that's bad about this movie.
Overall, this is a fun ride and you can enjoy this movie if you do have enough time.
Karnan (2021)
This is one of the finest Indian movie ever produced !!
OUTSTANDING.. BRILLIANT.. MASTERPIECE
This movie loosely based on the caste violence of 1995 in Tamil Tamdu where around 600 policemen entered a dalit village destroying their property, looting them and harassing their women, the police violence in the dalit village had occured after the instruction of the dominant caste officials.
This movie takes us to the journey, where a dalit village isn't provided with simple basic needs and how the upper caste dominates them everywhere. Karnan, is the story of a dalit society where they fight to stand straight.
Symbol plays huge roles in a movie, and in this movie the symbolic representation of a donkey whose story is just like the story of the protagonist is superbly presented. I loved how the cinematographer captured the butterfly in the police station scene. In many places, girls who dies before getting married or their first mensuration are regarded as a goddess, and the symbolic representation of the goddess is beautifully picturized in the movie.
The story, direction, cinematography, editing, background music, production design, art direction and the breathtaking performance by the actors make this movie look extremely real.
This is one of the finest Indian movie ever produced.
HUGELY RECOMMENDED !!

Krack (2021)
Watch this only if you love typical south Indian action action comedy.
So, a friend of mine recommend me this movie and I watched it keeping my brain aside & as I predicted logic & physics were brutally murdered in this movie. Overacting by the cast was making me feel as if I wasn't watching a movie but a spoof. But, I loved the technical aspect of the movie, I loved the color grading of the movie and background score was nice. The story of the movie of okay but the presentation wasted it..
Watch this only if you love typical south Indian action action comedy.
Jagame Thandhiram (2021)
A one time watch gangster movie
This movie is long, predictable after second half, has unnecessary romantic plot, fake American accent and a lot looks to be copied from Quentin Tarantino's movies yet the technical portion of the movie is superb so is the performance by Dhanush as Suruli, Joju Geroge as Shivadoss and James Cosmo as Peter Sprott.
This is an average gangster movie where a Tamil gansgster kills people in the street of London.
#Jagame_Thandhiram.
Sherni (2021)
If you are a conversationalist or a jungle lover this is for you ..
Okay first and foremost I am a huge fan of director Amit Masurkar's previous work and for me Vidya Balan is one of the very few Bollywood actress who can properly justify her character.
Talking about the movie, this movie doesn't have unnecessary songs and is very sincere to its story. Vidya Balan, Vijay Raaz and all the actors did a proper justification to their roles. Cinematography, editing, direction, background music takes you inside the jungle.
I wanted to see the tiger more on screen but unfortunately, there was not so much screen time for it.
If you are a conversationalist or a jungle lover this movie is for you.
Jallikattu (2019)
A most watch cinematic art
Made me think again.. who is the real beast us humans or animals ??
A cinematic art every movie lover should watch.. from cinematography to background score to editing to direction to story and man the performance of all the actors is praise worthy.
You may find the story somehow similar to LORD OF THE FLIES but still this movie will hook you up.
A most watch..
4.5**/5 from me !!
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
This doesn't scares you BUT...
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
First of all, lack of James Wan as director is clearly seen in this third venture of The Conjuring series. This movie fails to sacre us like the earlier movies but this movie takes you on a ride in an epic storyline. This time this movie is not limited in a single house, it goes to city and the court too.
It seemed as if, the goal of this movie was to focus on the Warrens and their investigation which is why it was less scary than the first two movies and this is where it fails. This looks like a detective movie where the detectives are searching for someone who is forcing innocents to kill other and make them commit suicide. This part doesn't even have a demon in it, well the antagonist of this movie is a human. Watching a horror movie where a human is the main antagonist and you don't even have a demonic character in the movie makes it less scary and this is where the movie fails.
There were no unnecessary jump scares which is a positive point of the movie. Also, the background music is smooth and makes you feel the circumstances the characters are facing. Editing of the movie is very sharp.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren respectively are a treat to watch. We can see the fear, the anxiety in there face.
Overall, if you are a Conjuring movies fan then you can go for it. Also, you don't need to watch the earlier Conjuring universe movies to understand this movie so if you are free then give this a try.
My Rating.:- 3/5**
Laxmii (2020)
Watch the original its better !!
#LaxmiiReview
The main character #Laxmii is a low budget representation of #Pennywise #Flash & #Bahubali. Some characters just disappeared without any reason & none of the character touches emotionally.
This horror comedy fails to scare you & make you laugh. A total waste of time.!
