Hit Bite Love (2023)
The best show for the fans of Fifty Shades of Grey
Yeah, it was mostly boring, but the last 10 minutes were craaazy. The main couple was the most interesting, and (unexpectedly) the least weird. Shokun is sad all the time, poor guy, and Matteo... Well, Matteo loves BDSM. No, no.. His LIFE is BDSM. Sounds weird that this high schooler is into BDSM and his parents don't know he's got a secret room like Christian Grey? Um. Okay. The ending was kinda.. great. It wasn't boring. I don't even remember what were the previous episodes about. That speaks for itself.
My fav scene:
"Burger."
"Are you hungry?"
"No, I was with Burger."
"So you're King?"
"Yes."
"Burger.... King."
BEST DETECTIVES EVER!!!!
Chains of Heart (2023)
Is this a drama or a comedy?
Gorgeous cinematography, the actors were (mostly) great, beautiful locations, well-done direction. Everyone tried and wanted to make Chains of Heart a quality and engaging series. Well.... everyone except the writers. The first episodes appealed to me as they reminded me of my favorite series, KinnPorsche. Then it got worse; especially at the end things started to make no sense. But it was so funny! Especially Din's ninja moves in the forest. Or how was Ken crying 24/7. Or how someone was strangling him all the time. Too bad this wasn't a comedy. :)
1) Mr. Lue is wearing sweater and leather gloves in BANGKOK where is hot all the time
2) If Ken is not being choked, he is crying
3) That one dude who is literally READING MINDS
4) The main bad guy is illegally selling wood and... human organs
5) No one can shoot Mr. Lue even if he's like 5 meters away from them
6) Mr. Lue's ninja moves in the end
7) Payu's eyebrows.
My Engineer (2020)
Bohn was the king of red flags
So, the main couple was basically like:
- Bohn sees Duen with a random girl or a guy
- He gets jealous
- They fight
- They make up
ALSO the doctors in this are so stupid, Frong's mum went to the hospital because her stomach hurt and they were like "oh yeah, it's a tumor" WTF i thought tumors can't cause this kind of pain. Then, when they checked her the second time after idk how many days, they were like "yeah, everything is fine, it's just a cyst." WHAT DID YOU GUYS STUDIED?!
It was boring in the end. The only couple I was interested in were Ram and King! So healthy. So supporting. So sweet.
Cutie Pie (2022)
Boys love? More like toxic love.
This show is about two childhood friends, Kuea and Lian. Kuea's grandfather actually helped Lian's family to start their own business. Then they become successful and rich, just like Kuea's family. Their grandfathers were close and one day they thought "You know what could be amazing? If our grandchildren marry each other!!" So basically, they want them to marry to have their families closer to each other's? Okay. Their last wish wasn't like "Oh, it would be great if they were close friends and..." NO, THEY NEED TO MARRY! Even if they didn't like each other! Even if they're toxic together. Yeah. Makes sense.
(Actually, it wasn't the most toxic couple in this show. But more on that later.)
Lian thinks Kuea isn't interesting, but he's not like other boys. He likes motorcycles and he also performs music under his secret stage name, Kirin. Which is not really important, because he'll reveal his true identity in episode two. So. Yeah.
They're also going on dates, and it's just.. embarrassing. They're not eating their food which is in front of them and oh my god, eat your food. They don't really like each other and then, during a heated confrontation, Kuea calls off the engagement. The end. OH I WISH THAT WAS THE END. But of course, when they start getting to know each other and their true selves and feelings, they start to fall in love. Okay, yeah, I really like this concept, but the execution was just.. off.
This is the part where I'm going to get angry. I'm going to talk about Diao and Yi, the secondary couple. Yi feels guilty because his dog attacked Diao, causing childhood trauma. So he's like taking care of him, and he's also deciding where Diao can or can't go??? He's like controlling his every move. In one scene, Diao literally visits a karate school called FREEDOM. Yes, FREEDOM. The reviewer on BL Watcher dot com is shipping Kuea & Diao, and I didn't see it at first, but now that i'm thinking about it, it doesn't look bad. They're supporting and caring and.. OH MY GOD I CAN TOTALLY SEE THAT NOW! And another thing that Yi does is when he and Diao have an argument (like in every episode) in the car, and after that, Diao comes home, and he sees a dog. A little cute doggie, so he's like "Whose dog is it?" and Yi is like "Welp, it's yours." You fricking manipulator. You think this will resolve this problem? Ok, maybe yeah. I love dogs. God dammit!
I love what happens in episode twelve. Lian's dad is having this big birthday party and everyone is there. And you know what Lian does? I couldn't believe my own eyes; he asks Kuea to MARRY HIM. AND HE'S LIKE.... NO. I love this moment. Every fan must've been like sad and I was just laughing out loud. It was perfect. In the end, Kuea is the one, who proposes to Lian. But Lian is like "No way! You think i'm going to be the BOTTOM now? I ain't gonna have anything in my ass tonight." And HE proposes to Kuea. In the very end, there's this text saying "Love will be continued." Noo, there is no season two. No. There can't be. Well.
So after a month I watched Cutiepie I was browsing the internet and I saw "Cutiepie 2" and I'm like no, this can't be real. It's like a fan made thing. Then I saw it on the official site and yeah, it's real. My PTSD came back and I was like "Nope, I can't watch it. I can't." But y'know. I eventually did..... It was basically about the marriage and wedding, or I don't know, I skipped A LOT of it. Yi and Diao are back, Yi looking like a sociopath and Diao looking scared of him. Just like the old times. So, in the end they'll marry and Diao will catch the bouquet, poor guy, and Kuea will get the music deal. It's just like a fairy tale. But toxic. Really, REALLY toxic.
I also wanted to say that I hated the main song.
I don't know why, but on Viki, where I watched season one, there was like every ten or fifteen minutes this ad break, or something, but there wasn't an ad, so they just played the main song again and again and I was like.... *Cries*
Eiko (2004)
An unusual friendship between two unusual people
Viewed in Japanese without English subtitles... Eiko buys a lot of weird stuff. Last time she bought a ring that can bring her happiness according to some random old lady on the street. Not only does she have a problem with buying useless trash, but also with debt collectors. They're robbing her of the last yen she makes. One night, while dodging the debt collectors who are waiting impatiently outside her apartment, she notices an ad for a beauty company that recruits girls to try beauty products and so on. Since I don't speak Japanese, I don't know why she went to some 50-year-old dude's apartment, but she decides to stay there because the debt collectors are still lurking outside her apartment. Eiko's life takes a turn for the better. She gets a new job as a waitress, and there she meets a handsome young man. Could the lucky ring work? Nope. Then, unfortunately, she finds out that the older guy she was living with is working with the young crush of hers and finds out about her, where she grew up, and with whom. Eiko is devastated and moves out immediately. [There's also a side story where Eiko's friend or brother (?) is arrested for selling drugs, and then she finds the drugs and plants them in the beauty company's warehouse. Just a little revenge lol.] She meets a debt collector on the street, and he tells her that someone paid the debt for her! I don't know if they'll say who paid it, but I think it's clear that it was the guy she was living with. At the end, she encounters the old lady who sold her the ring, but this time Eiko rejects her "miracle" product (this time a bracelet). You go, girl. BTW, I laughed at the scene where one character was following her, and she turned to look at him and then quickly ran in his direction. Dude didn't know what to do. ๐ The perfect way of dealing with stalkers lmao.
Otoko wa tsurai yo: Hana mo arashi mo Torajirรด (1982)
A cute comedy about love and family
Tora-san (Kiyoshi Atsumi) is unemployed and lives with his sister and her husband, son, aunt, and uncle. After a fight with his family, he travels to a spa with one suitcase and a few coins in his pocket. Here he meets two lovely female travelers and a young man who catches the eye of one of the girls, Keiko (Yuko Tanaka). This young man is Saburo (Kenji Sawada), a shy zookeeper. Saburo's mother, who worked at the spa, has died, so he buries her remains in a nearby cemetery. Tora-san goes back to his family and brings Saburo with him as a guest. Saburo tells everyone that he likes Keiko but doesn't know how to approach her. Meanwhile, Keiko starts a new job in Tokyo. Her parents want to find a husband for her, but she is only thinking about Saburo. Tora-san acts as a matchmaker in the film and tries to bring Keiko and Saburo together. But something happens that rapidly complicates his job - he falls in love with Keiko too! It's a sweet comedy about family and love. What I found most beautiful was that Kenji Sawada and Yuko Tanaka are married in real life. Kenji may have looked older (for example, the cute scene on the hill looked like a teenager meeting a 30 year old virgin, haha), but I would fall for him too. Welp, Kenji Sawada is Kenji Sawada. ;)
My School President (2022)
The sweetest show I've ever watched
This was the sweetest, cutest and funniest BL show i've ever seen. I loved everything! The story, music, jokes, relationships... Gun's & Tinn's relationship was wholesome. I loved how they were slowly falling in love. One of the best high school shows. Wow, now I even miss my high school days. The ending (prom, last day in school) literally made me cry. Well, it wasn't like that on my last day of school - me and my classmates were standing in the hallway and we were like: "So... It's over." The hallway was dark and we were just standing there... Man, it was hard. Anyways! It was perfect. Thank you. BTW I hated the fact that they made my favorite teacher homophobic ๐
Akuma no youna aitsu (1975)
Didn't understand a word. Yet, I loved it!
THE STORY: The main character, Kamon Ryo (Sawada), grew up in an orphanage and is a beautiful young man who plays in clubs. He had a dark side: he was a male prostitute. The customer was arranged by Nonomura (Tatsuya Fuji), the club's owner and brother at the orphanage. Ryo had a past that he could not tell anyone. He was a criminal in the 300 million yen case. The statute of limitations is almost up. When the statute of limitations expires, Ryo will be in possession of a large sum of money, but he is suffering from an incurable brain disease.
MY REVIEW: A story full of twists and turns that kept my mouth fully open! Yeah, Ryo seemed a little bit "off". But in the end, he became a full-blown psycho who recklessly shot at the police.... Nonomura and Ryo would've been such a power couple :(((( That scene in episode 12, where Ryo betrayed Nonomura, was so fricking sad. The pain in his eyes... Man, that was hard. What makes it funny is the fact that EVERYONE is attracted to Ryo and wants to help him. I get it, Kenji is really hot, but heyyy ๐๐ If he hadn't had glioblastoma, his faith would be different. Maybe even happier.
