The Forbidden Kingdom (2008)
Script Fu!
The old Monkey King legend meets modern times in this martial arts movie. Don´t look for 13 Oscars here just medidate along to this adventure from a far far away place.
Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)
It comes at night
The sequel to the smash hit Insidious really gives bang for bucks. The evil are back so it´s up to a family and geeky ghost hunters to stop it again. It´s not the Oscar winner of best 2013 movie but good for a stream or buy if you like classic 80s haunted house movies like Poltergeist. Let us see if there ever will be another Insidious after the last movie failed.
Commando (1985)
I command thee
If you collect some good old 1980s action movies VHS cassettes this has to be one of these. No Oscar bait here just some Arnold pumping the iron and lots of mindless hammer down the baddies here.
Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982)
The nostalgia burns me
The Wall is cult and I see why as it had been a part of my childhood, and many others. This movie is now very actual again after the Berlin wall as it now represents this spring´s pandemic, and Nostalgia Critic´s 2019 version. If you love this movie then watch the Berlin live perfomance.
Chopping Mall (1986)
I got crabs
Imagine if we get security robots in malls in the nearest future. This is a classic robot thriller/comedy with a bunch of 80s youths trying to survive. Good for an 80´s themed Halloweenm night. If you love malls go watch Dan Bell´s mall videos on Youtube.
Grey Skies (2010)
I turned grey
Get some candy and stream this on a boring Weekend, turn your brain on, and then think of what would happen of the consequences of storming Area 51 . Classic body snatcher plot as seen in Friendship is Magic´s A Canterlot Wedding.
Sonic the Hedgehog (1993)
Sonic Empire
Last decade nostalgia fans smashed the internet with love for everything in the 1970´s and up to the 1990´s. In the 1990´s people praised the 1960´s and 1970´s music and oldies remakes. 1993 marked the year of the Sonic Sat AM and it became cult. This show has something for all like furries, scifi settings, a wolf clan, time travels, some big feelings and a cool soundtrack. But a shame the show suddenly had to end at a big highlight.
Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County (1998)
Aliens!
To be based on real events about alien abductions. This movie was made the year before The Blair Witch Project. If you´re a mature fan of our Danish classic Danish 1990s dogme movies, and want no big names alien invasion movies stream this.
Mickey's Fun Songs: Beach Party at Walt Disney World (1995)
Sing!
Now available on Youtube´s Disney Dan and I hope it stays. If you want some mindless 1990s kids nostalgia including 2 now abandoned parts of WDW watch this.
The Great Ziegfeld (1936)
We should have the roaring 2020s but now its the Great Depression.
I grew up with black and white movies on Danish TV in the 1980s so that´s why I few years ago watched this movie. This movie takes you way back to vintage USA when Palisades was around, and you had shows way ahead of it´s time.
Night of the Comet (1984)
This is the Night
With a remake in sight Night of the Comet are made for empty mall fans on Youtube, and fans of cheesy 1980s doomsdays movies that predicts the emptiness of major cities in these 2020 outbreak days.
Us (2019)
It´s cool, man!
Some 80s and 90s references like the Hands Across America song and the song I Got 5 On It, and lots of whack the dopplegangers. Let´s see if Candyman will give Peele some Oscar runners up this Winter.
Earth to Echo (2014)
For the tech savvy family
This plot are seen in many other movies like in Pete´s Dragon and the Red Balloon. But this is handheld so be sure you can handle 1000 of handheld camera drops.
The 5th Wave (2016)
A 5 outta 5 yo
Classic what if Armageddon could happen movie for real movie. Also a classic perfomance by Liev Schreiber. Good for a watch on a teen nights out on a Weekend.
The Blackwell Ghost (2017)
Well, well, well
Thanks to the success of Blair Witch last decade got flooded with handheld hororr based on rea, or you call it fake events on Amazon.com including The Blackwell Ghost that got a row of sequels. A classic combination of haunted house movies with new handheld technology.
A Haunting on Brockway Street (2019)
To Be Continued
To be based on real events. In Youtube style some ghost hunters tries to solve the hauntings of a big old house. If you want to stream something else that is scream and bang constant for an hour watch this ansd have patience. Let´s see if the sequel will come out.
Classroom 6 (2015)
A 6 pack
To be based on real events. This movie takes classic haunted schools to another level with handheld cameras, and of course the reuse of loudly arguing people, camera glitches and lesser known actors. If you want something else than Mainstream Universal horror stream this.
BoBoiBoy: The Movie (2016)
O boy
Being from Denmark I grew up with The Monkey King. Decades later my interest for Asian animation grew so I searched for animation around the World last year and found this. If you and your kids loves Incredibles and Paw Patrol, and cartoons far from Hollywood watch this.
Lilo & Stitch (2002)
Nani?
If you want more than Disney princesses watch Lilo and Stitch with an unusual combo of Elvis, aliens, hula and Hawaii. Followed by sequels, prequels and an anime.
Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)
Evil!
Its such a shame the 6 year wait for the final RE movie opening was not about the epic battle as seen in the end of this movie. This movie is made for the adults that loved the cheap 1980s apocalyptic science fiction movies on the rental rows.
Circus World (1964)
Angry lion noises
One of the more obscure John Wayne movies 14 years before his death. I can barely remember seeing this on TV when Danish TV channel DR1 had old movie cavalcades in the 1980s when I was younger. Watch this on the biggest screen you can buy with good speakers.
Good Bye Lenin! (2003)
Alexa play Sandmann Dummies
Fictive movie about real events. It is an must watch movies for us that grew up with, or foreigners trat has an interest in German media and culture since 1980s. Well deserved Golden Globe nomination.
Up (2009)
The Only Way is Up
We seen the story of elders in love like in Amour and at times with the two donkeys Cranky and Mathilda from Friendship is Magic. I remember being hyped for Up since the first showing at Cannes in May 2009. If you love b movies watch Whats Up Balloon to the Rescue and Car Go also starring Ed Asner.
Da nao tian gong (1961)
Monkey around
I watched the Monkey King TV show and the movie on Danish TV and was at the Peking Opera in a local city. A good intro to Asian culture for younger kids especially in school.
Kermit's Swamp Years (2002)
A frog!
One of the more obscure Muppet movies taking place in a far away swamp in Florida. This TV special is made for the youngest Muppet fans, at times because the ending is a little dark. Stay for the bloopers. If you love Muppets I recommend Electricdragon505 on Youtube the master of Muppets.
