He Slid Into Her DM's (2024)
The Storyline doesn't Make Sense
First of all, let me start by saying that Bernie's mother - I recognized her voice, but I did not recognize the face. I had to look it up to know that it was Courtney Thorne Smith from Melrose place. I can't believe how skinny she is. I hope she is OK. Second of all if Bernie would've told the truth to begin with why would it have mattered? This is what doesn't make sense. She runs into him and she pulls away so how would this change the fact that he shows up at her house with a gun? I don't understand why they lied about it . The mother is very pushy and manipulative IMO. I just don't get why it was such a big secret that she did run into him at one point but actually didn't know him. I mean, the kid had a gun and threatened them at gunpoint. It was actually self-defense.
My Son's Deception (2024)
Soccer star looks 40
Like what the hell? This is a mess of a movie. None of the characters are really developed and you cannot really like anybody in this movie. The 18-year-old soccer kid looks like he's 40 years old. I cannot believe they would let somebody this age portray an 18-year-old high school student going into college. None of the actors are believable. The mom is not bad, but this whole movie does not seem believable. I feel like it is very confusing and you really don't know the characters at all. I don't understand why they would cast somebody that looks so much older as an 18-year-old. In real life he's 29 but at the same time , he does not look like he's in high school or even college. Is there a lack of younger people in Canada? I don't recommend this movie.
Babysitter's Black Book (2015)
Glorifying underage sex?
You know when I started watching this movie, it seemed pretty interesting. The fact that these are high school girls makes it very cringey. I feel like the producers somewhat glorified sex with a minor especially when the husband took her to the university. With all the music and intimate scenes they made it seem romantic when it in fact is disgusting. Thankfully, in real life, this young lady was 26 years old and he was 40. Still a big age gap but definitely, nothing like if this kid was 17. This movie just made me cringe because I feel like they were glorifying underage sex. Watch if you must proceed with caution. Lol.
Our Mother's Secret Affair (2024)
Too much going on to really care.
Let me start off by saying this movie is not like a typical lifetime movie. You don't know much about any of the characters as they are not developed. At first no one seems like they're a bad person, but towards the end is when you find out who the actual Person who is controlling the situation. It's just a mess of a movie and it doesn't even really make much sense at all. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen, but it didn't never really happens. The actors are boring and have no personality. Much better movies out there to watch. This apparently isn't one of them in my opinion. Just downright boring.
Stalked by My Doctor: A Sleepwalker's Nightmare (2019)
Am I the only one disgusted?
I don't understand this series of movies, nor do I understand the hype for Eric Roberts. Am I the only one that was disgusted when he was kissing the young girl? I had to turn it off because I was about to throw up. It looked like a teenage girl kissing a grandfather type. Couldn't finish it so can't get a give a full review, but had to turn it off when they were lip locking because it grossed me out so bad. I've seen one other movie in this series and it really wasn't good. Eric Roberts plays a good creepy old man but watching it up close makes me wanna hurl. I don't understand how other people are not weirded out by this.
Beware the Night Nurse (2023)
Dumbest parents alive!
What kind of parents meet a stranger at a funeral and allow her to sit in their car watching their infant while they go pay respects to the person that died? How careless and idiotic do you have to be to do this? If you're going to make a Lifetime movie about a crazed nanny, at least make it somewhat believable! These have got to be the dumbest parents I've ever seen in my entire life! What new parent isn't sleep deprived??? That's the way it is with a a baby!
When that crazy lunatic took the baby in her car to help "get him to sleep" and then "accidentally" scratched the mother's arm while battling with the mother-in-law, why didn't the mother just completely cut ties with this crazy woman? I typically don't side with the mother-in-law, but she was the only one that made sense in the movie and the only one that had a friggin brain, unless you're counting the baby.
Tall, Dark, and Dangerous (2024)
Ho ho holy crap!
Where did they find the lead actress from this movie?? HORRIBLE!!! The storyline wasn't too bad but my goodness, this lady couldn't act her way out a paper bagl! Crazy guy is obsessing over her from one meeting? I've seen this actor in other movies and he's not the greatest either. TBH this movie was like watching a high school play. Also, was she wearing a wig? Her hair was certainly bizarre. I think the only decent actor in the movie is the lady that plays her assistant. And she doesn't have very many lines so that should tell you a lot about this movie. How did Eric Roberts agree to star in this pile of mung?!
My Killer Reunion (2023)
Victor got around DAMN
This is a hot mess of a movie. Starts out slow, middle is slow...thank God for the ending. The acting wasn't good. The picture was dark. The music was annoying. The characters were not developed. Simon's mother was the weak, abused wife of the philandering Victor. Too many loose ends to consider this a complete movie. I thought it was going to be fast paced and interesting. I typically like movies about reunions, but this one was dark and dreary, and very poor acting involved. The characters were boring and as stated earlier, never developed fully. You can't really empathize with any of them. The ending is predictable, but they make you sit through a bunch of crap to get to that point which seemed rushed as hell.
Catfish Murder (2023)
Old teenagers
Why is it that Lifetime always casts older people as teenagers? Like people in their mid to late 20s and even early 30s? Are teenage actors that hard to find in Canada? Gia's voice is so damn annoying. It's like she's straining to speak. Her voice sounds like she's whispering. Not sure if she can't help it but I was cringing every time she spoke! To the point where I couldn't enjoy the movie. The kid who played her brother was already balding. How could they even try to pass him as a teenager? The movie was a bit confusing because you couldn't empathize with any of the characters. Teens looked as old as their parents. Weird ass movie.
Scorned (2019)
I am so mad at myself
For watching this piece of crap. A sad attempt at an artsy film. Neither lead actor is that attractive to be honest. I don't understand what the lead actress saw in that boy. And she looked a bit like Kermit and desperately needs a tan on those pasty white thighs. The husband was even worse. What the hell kind of name is Ste? I don't care if it's short for Stevens that's a dumb a$$ nickname. I hate their attempt at trying to be a high class art film when it was nothing but a load of crap. I can't believe they actually had sex in the church. How disrespectful. And she does this knowing that her husband was banging the dude she was banging. And then she gets upset with him after the fact. How about not sleep with him you dirty dirty tramp? I'm just so mad at myself for watching this till the end because it was nothing but a piece of crap. Do not watch it's a waste of time. I think the only character that I liked was Wong.
Sugar (2022)
What a horrible ending!
I REALLY wanted to like this movie. Many of the scenes left me confused. They could and should have developed some of the characters better. The two lead main actresses did a good job but I don't understand why they would take the cocaine off the ship at all. They could've just gotten off and left From Australia back home. What was the point of having that Australian guy take them to the hotel? There are so many things that could've happened in this movie that didn't. And I absolutely hated the ending! There was like no point to the movie with that horrible ending. Do they go to jail? Do they get off? Do they remain friends? What happened to Jules? So many open ended stories and no resolution. It could've been a great movie and they really flubbed it especially in the end.
Rooming with Danger (2023)
Oy vey
Did they do a casting call for the most annoying actors in history? The lead redhead has the most annoying voice I've ever heard in my entire life next to Joey Lauren Adams. Her best friend talks like she can barely move her lips. Maybe they all got lip injections before the movie begin filming. Two red flags before the lead character even moves in with the psycho... Flag one - psycho's ex-roommate left and is never coming back for any of her stuff. Ever. Even tho it's pretty nice stuff. Flag two - lead redhead tells psycho about a girl she's counseling. The girl's father killed her mother in front of her. Psycho asks what did the wife do for her husband to kill her. No raised eyebrows on either of those? Not at all, let's just move in TOMORROW! LOL The rest is pretty much your standard Lifetime movie with predictable plot and mediocre acting. Ok for a rainy day or for calling in sick.
Killer Prom (2020)
Lead Actress is SO ANNOYING
Where do I begin with this mess? I don't understand how they keep casting Yvonne Zima in any role. Her voice is the most annoying voice I've ever heard in an actress. It's like she's trying to be sweet and sultry, but I just wanna punch her in the face. She is a horrible actress. And the characters in this movie are so hum drum and ignorant that it drove me nuts. The best actor in the movie was the poor mom who, unfortunately dies in the first scene. I really can't recommend this movie, because the acting is terrible, the plot line is terrible, the husband is stupid, and I cannot believe he would actually let the psycho live with them, after knowing she was the last person to be seen with his wife. Wouldn't they suspect that she could've killed her? Why didn't she go in after her to save her from drowning? There's no way in hell I would allow a woman who could've possibly killed my wife in my house. Stupid and not believable.
Revenge for My Mother (2022)
Starts good, gets crazy weird
This movie actually started out really good. The father and the daughter characters were initially believable. A lot of people are stating the father was a bully. Not true. Just giving her tough love telling her to get a job because she just got out of prison after 18 months. Not a bully at all. Just an actual caring parent that wants to make sure their kid gets off their a$$ and make something of themselves.
As the movie progresses, the plot gets a bit ridiculous, the main character goes psycho and the acting from the other set is not great. I really felt for the lead girl in the beginning but that soon dissipates. The mother character has a baby and she's got to be at least 40 years old in the movie. The boyfriend is a little bit of a joke in my opinion. Not a bad watch but not the best.
The Girl He Met Online (2014)
Lead Actress is HORRIBLE
Who casted the lady portraying Gillian?!? She's a horrible actress. It's like she's trying (and I emphasize TRYING) to sound like Marilyn Monroe. Her outbursts are ridiculous. The way she whispers her lines make her face punchable.
At first I didn't think I'd be able to make it through but at least the supporting actors weren't bad. But why was a full grown adult still living with her "mother" who she treats like absolute crap. I would've kicked her out ASAP. Did I mention the lead actress sucks? Holy cow. I cringed every time she spoke. Wish I could seal up that tiny little mouth. Watch at your own discretion but be advised, you will get annoyed quite quickly.
My Landlord Wants Me Dead (2023)
I Talk but my mouth doesn't move
Emily Villarreal who plays Maddie, is a horrible actress in this movie. It's like she doesn't even move her mouth when she talks. All you see are teeth. So many better actresses could have played the part. I've never seen her in anything else but in this movie she's terrible. I could've done a better job blindfolded with a gag.
I don't understand how they pick some of these actors for these lifetime movies. Her best friend Layla and Kevin were ok. The guy that played Paul was a horrible actor as well. They could've picked a better killer in my opinion. He was creepy but his language felt so scripted. I felt bad for Jazzy :-(
At one point Maddie passes out in the middle of nowhere and comes home like nothing has happened. We don't know why or how. When she gets home, she plugs her camera into her computer with a smile. Like WTH. I hate that Kevin died. And Grace doesn't contribute much at all. She's there. She leaves and returns after everything has happened.
And why don't any of the actors in Lifetime movies ever turn the lights on or lock the doors? And when they are trapped in a room why don't they break a window and climb out? They just go upstairs and lock themselves in a room. Maybe I need to write a script and send it in.
Sinister Stepsister (2022)
Dumbest Parents Ever
The premise is predictable but interesting, however, these have got to be the dumbest parents ever. Thank goodness for the kids, especially the daughter, who pick up on cray cray "half sister's" menacing ways. Mom's hair reminds me of 1970's Pete Rose (kind of like when Carrie on The King of Queens got that really bad short hair cut). Did anyone else realize that they were all wearing generic converse sneakers? And that the sinister sister actress is actually 10 years younger that the guy playing her father? From the beginning I knew she was older. 34 years old playing a college student. LOL Not a bad watch but not a great one either.
Angie: Lost Girls (2020)
Good movie and deserves a watch
I'm not sure why anyone is leaving low reviews on this movie. I've seen worse movies get higher review. It's probably one of the best Lifetime movies I've ever seen.
It is heartbreaking and very sad at times and it scares me because I have a daughter of my own but it holds your attention and makers you aware of things that actually happen in this world. Horrible things unfortunately.
Actors are for the most part good. Lead actress gives a good performance. Mom's lip injections are bad but she proves caring in the movie. The ending is not all roses but at least the a-holes get caught.
Do Give it a watch.
Wicked Mom's Club (2017)
And the Oscar goes to...
The Wig! Come on now Lifetime! Splurge a little when it comes to wardrobe especially when it's a main character. The acting isn't too bad but I've never heard of a high school with competitive gymnastics, although not a bad idea. Watchable but not great. Like the plot tho. Should be called Mean Moms :-)
The Wrong Stepfather (2020)
I wanted to like it but...
I really wanted to like this movie but all I saw were duck lips (mother and daughter) and the geeky teacher is trying way too hard. The acting is not very good and makes this movie cringeworthy. Save yourself the time and watch something else.
Your Family or Your Life (2019)
Jenny Garth saves this movie
Would have been a better movie if there were better actors. Jenny Garth is the only one that can act here. The lady that plays Erica Hearns HORRIBLE. All I can say is thank God for Jenny Garth. The rest of the actors are robotic. The dead husband is ok in the flashbacks.
The Bobby Brown Story (2018)
She looks nothing like Whitney
The movie isn't bad but I wish they would have picked someone else that actually looks as beautiful as Whitney was. Not a bad job picking Bobby Brown. Gap tooth and similar build. Overall an ok movie but not a believable Whitney unfortunately.
Mean Queen (2018)
A 30 year old playing a high school student???
In the beginning of the movie, they show "Amy Turner" acting strange and crazy. At first glance I'm thinking she's a psycho mom who was turned down for Prom Queen when she was a kid. No. It's a 30 year old playing a 17 year old. A bigger stretch than the actors who played in Grease. It's just weird that they cast someone way too old to play a HS kid. Not even a good actress. Looks as old as Miya's mom.
The Twisted Nanny (2019)
Not bad but Not great
I like the premise of the movie. The nanny's character was so hateable that I wanted to punch her in the face. As a mother, I would have fired the nanny as soon as I saw changes in my kids and she didn't. But then we wouldn't have had a movie right?! I also would have googled the nanny's "name" and I'm sure that the real Olivia's pic would have popped up, discrediting the psycho. Lifetime does have the most outrages plot lines but that is why we watch :-).
A Teacher (2013)
Like watching paint dry
Horribly sloooooow. Annoying music. Terrible acting from everyone. Very hard to watch. Save yourself the 90 minutes and take a nap. The only thing that kept me watching was waiting for something interesting to happen and it never does. BORING. Plus the lead actress is gross and pasty white. Makes me nauseous to think she was with a kid.
