Lizzie McGuire (2001)
Iconic
The episodes had a fresh humor to them that made the whole show seem real rather then exaggerated.
Lizzie actually learns a lot and each episode has its own story. This show was way ahead of its time.
Sarangeui bulsachak (2019)
I hope this is a keeper
Recently, I have been trying so hard to get hooked on another K- drama. All I ask is that they keep the humor fresh and the romance sweet.
In two episodes, I am already drawn in. I now hope that some romance occurs, but the future of this drama is yet to be determined.
The series follows Ye Ri, a South Korean heiress when she accidentally falls into North Korea after a paragliding accident. All because of a tornado that had flying tractors. I laughed when she pointed that out.
I hope Ye Ri has a good character development arc, I would love to see her grow. You bet I will continue to watch this. Sign me up, you got a fan.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
A story of epic proportions
"People keep on telling me they know me. I am afraid know one does."
I was looking forward to this film so much ever since it was announced back in early 2019. I didn't really give it much notice, but simply knowing a release was enough for me.
Following the first and second installment in the series, the message and plot building rocked. I liked the action to develop and the battle that raged kept on going strong.
Now don't get me wrong, I loved the third film, and it didn't fall flat for me. I was hooked in the forty minutes of the movie though it did take a while. Of course the climax wouldn't come in until the end.
In the film, a lot of things happen that can shock you. Now mind you, this is marked for spoilers. Leia dies. Kylo Ren does NOT survive. The emperor is hidden in some "mysterious" location. Chu baca is taken prisoner. R2D2's friend memory is wiped out to translate a location written in Sith.
It is a long story. Perhaps the action could have been better, the fight scenes could have been better sequenced. I loved the darkness that took over, but it just never felt that INTENSE. However, there are some memorable scenes in here that I loved. The voices of the Jedi calling to Rey, Ray coming to terms with her identity, allies and friends coming together.
While all these ideas are all nice, they could have been performed better. Rey could have found here own home. The ending wasn't cliche but not exactly original either. I would say there is room for improvement. But most of all, I think at the heart- this film is more about believing in yourself. May the force be with you.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)
A good mix of fun and thrills
Using the tropes of a fantasy film, Maleficent is a god watch for a nice time of adventure and heartwarming moments.
The main driving force behind the film is that we can all learn to love one another if we put our heart out there and try.
In the film, we get to see the wedding. The queen sets a trap however and war rages as people get hurt and things start to spin out of control.
War between fairies and humans. Who will win? In terms of content, nothing too big. Just cuts and bruises.
A good film to cuddle up next to a loved one to watch. Recommended. A somewhat tear jerker as well.
Sunjeonge Banhada (2015)
Pure emotion
I don't really know what to say. I didn't want to watch this series but after a few episodes, I was hooked. I tell myself at least try four episodes and after that stop watching if you don't like it.
This drama has emotional moments and cried. Almost. Excellent.
Mean Girls (2004)
A funny and interesting view of high school
When I watched this film I wanted to do it to feel the nostalgia because television back then was weird.
This follows a girl who went on a journey to find herself after her identity is shattered and she must go through a destruction of the social hierarchy in order to see it. Literally.
While rough, I know it's a message that we all can share that we can all relate to so we can we what will happen.
This is so iconic and a classic because it's an ode of what happens in the social structure of school and what it can do to us. I feel like it's all a feeling that we can all relate to.
iCarly (2007)
Funny and nostalgic
I miss this tv show so much. I also live Victorious for its episodes and funny warm humor that always hits the spot. To me though, I also wished Victorious got a proper series finale if this show could manage one.
Victorious (2010)
Funny and off comedy
I don't know about you but this was pretty funny for me. I don't really see shows like this but I like original teen shows that have funny wit and real fresh humor.
I don't know why but back in 2010, the quality of shows like these were actually pretty funny, I hate to break it to you but now a days shows like these lack a lot. I guess it would have to be time.
Yuyeolui eumagaelbeom (2019)
Well done
The moments were nice and well done. It went by real quick for me. Real quick.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
Complex and dark
This film is much intended for a deeper understanding but is also very interesting to interpret.
K-12 (2019)
Dark and creepy
Nap time where you can crawl into your own world? A bus that flies in the air? Your outfit and hair changing every single time? Yes please. This movie has interesting songs and messages mixed in here.
Saui Chanmi (2018)
Vibrant and emotional.
This is a period piece that sparkles and shines with wit. Sad but uplifting.
The Good Place (2016)
Pure comedy
I loved this show and all the funny things in it. Of course there is mild content but nothing too much to get all bothered about.
I wish there was a balance of emotional scenes because it could be funny but how would that work out? Interesting to think about.
The Proud Family (2001)
Og
Back in the day this was the jam and where everything else was also very easy. I miss those days.
Russian Doll (2019)
Funny and crazy
Nadia is a protagonist with no direction she needs to head in. Life to her is wacked up and crazy and she tries to cope with it.
Watching the first episode,I laughed a few times at Nadia's craziness and just soaked it all in. It went by quick I tell you.
That time loop Nadia is stuck in occurs a lot through the series and the it's mild in mature content. I also hope to see some romance occur throughout the series.
This is a quick watch. Each episode is at least around thirty minutes. I am still waiting for that new Season to come out...
Chalard games goeng (2017)
A thrilling tale full of so many twists
For me,I had "Netflix Fever" where I wanted to stream a good film. I decided to lift up my favorite Thai tv show "Girl From Nowhere" for a little binge watch but when I lifted that up,I saw this in the results section.
At first, I read the summary with a little caution. After all,I do want to know that it's at least good. When I saw it, I tapped on the play button with a spark of curiosity.
This would be the time that I watched another Thai film. And I did not at all decide that watching this was a waste of time. It's so much more than that. It's a journey.
In it,our protagonist Lynn is a smart student and decides to help the students around her by helping them cheat and get the right answers on tests and quizzes. In doing so,she loses herself in this trap and risks everything
At first, when Lynn got caught the first time I shook my head and thought she wouldn't go any further then she already did. But she did it again this time and I screamed. Isn't enough the first time?
There was a sweet romance that was not really implied but it was innocent that it made me smile. In the end,I was so glad to see Lynn grow into the strong woman she is. In the end, she starts over. And that's enough for the film.
Ai Fai.. Thank You Love You (2014)
Funny
This was really fun to watch back in the year when I was still having fun and enjoying life where everything was nice and exciting.
The moments were great and I will tell you that I had a hoot of a time watching this film.
The Breakfast Club (1985)
The stirring of a journey
For me,this was a gem of a movie that I very abort did not see coming for me. The maturity was pg-13 not R. There was nothing disturbing or creepy about this. It was pretty interesting. I could compare this to an episode of Lizzie McGuire "He Said,She Said." It was a journey...
Hotel Del Luna (2019)
A odd piece of classic cake
This series for me was really weird. And creepy. I will definitely continue to stream this on my phone but it was a nice change of pace.
The first episode was so mysterious and engaging that I just had to keep on watching. For me, the first four episodes of a k drama you must watch before judging it.
I am still following that rule. IU reminds of Nanno ("Girl From Nowhere) when she plays her role. Just a thought.
Overall though, the romance and effects do play out. Now if I can only get those ads out of the way and look at the drama in peace....
Falling Inn Love (2019)
Not special, but heartwarming.
The film was entirely random. And the it went by too fast. The romance for me could have been a little more better done because I didn't see a lot of it to believe that it even existed.
Tall Girl (2019)
This reached new heights...
It wasn't ground breaking but some people have opinions and I won't take any side. I would have to say that this movie was average, but it made me realize that people can grow in their own way. Oh...literally.
Being self conscious about what people see in me when they look at me and having made my own mistakes,I was near gratitude with this movie.
It inspired me to stand tall for what believe in and instead of just sitting around doing nothing, making that change and going for it. And that's the best thing you can do.
Overall,I won't spoil anything. I've seen better and I won't say this is my most liked movie of all time, but it made me open my eyes a bit more.
SpongeBob SquarePants: FarmerBob/Gary & Spot (2018)
Funny and ironic
I didn't understand the real meaning behind Farmer Bob but it was super funny. It was quite random in the mix but oh well.
I watched it for free on this website called Daily Motion and I laughed so hard I felt like I wanted to hit a clock.
In this episode,a lot of crazy things happen. The episode happens on a farm literally and it was quite weird and funny.
Spongebob and Patrick raise a barn and then they mess around with a tractor. And they also invite aliens to party with them. I laughed. So weird.
Inside Out (2015)
Heartwarming.
At the moment this is what the film portrayed to me. I loved it all and the characters all grew into me.
The film is a honest portrayal of the teen life and everything in it. I cried happy tears as the movie went on. Worth a watch.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)
Creepy.
In a good way. And then a lot of pins and needles with all the twists and turns. This is insane. And everything I love in a good series. Great romance and characters grow in their own way.
In this series, we see Sabrina Spellman in a more modern setting. The series sets it tone it to a thrilling but intense pace and you will find yourself rooting for Sabrina.
You will cry and scream. You will be angry. I felt all of this. Don't look at all the negative reviews but focus more on the special sides of the the series. The moments, the magic, and everything in it.
So is it worth watching? Heck yes. The series proves to be a true classic and never strays away from trying to get its point. Watch a few episodes at a time and get lost into the moment.
Neko no ongaeshi (2002)
Not complicated.
What a sweet ending. The story was beautiful and heartwarming and full of moments. I loved this .
