Alpha Centauri (1999)
A true sci-fi computer game classic!
Although the title says: Sid Meier's, the true genius behind this epic piece of art is Brian Reynolds. The game, which in many ways is so much more than merely a "game", takes you to the colonization of planet Chiron. More of an inviting novel than a classic strategy-game, the events of colonization are unraveled to the player as he struggles for survival for his faction in a new world filled with both dangers and wonders.
The voice-acting and design are stunningly atmospheric, and draws thoughts to great sci-fi stories such as Dune. The essentials of all faction leaders are delightfully pictured in the many "fictional" quotes from their life works. I have just recently begun reading the books by Michael Ely, spawned from the game itself, and all I can think is; "When will someone make the movie"? Not that it could ever surpass the genious of the game, but with the right people and ambitions, a movie could be formidable. Dina Meyer is the self-written person to play Corazon Santiago for instance.
A game, and more. A masterpiece...

The best computer criminal story ever told...
I was so surprised when playing this game. I knew the graphics would be stunning and the gameplay extraordinary. But what really got to me while playing was the immense and truly thrilling story that was written before my eyes. With tons of intertextuality, humor and great voice-acting (unlike Hitman for example) it developed into a story unlike I had never experienced neither in a computer game, a movie or a TV-series before...
Way to go Remedy! Can't wait to play the sequel...
Much Ado About Nothing (1993)
What a beautiful movie
Awarded for it's long one-take dancing scene n the end, "Much ado about nothing" brings you a moment of light, beautiful thoughts about love... The sunny set of buildings located in the lovely countryside fields of Verona invites you to a stage were the actors are very well cast, the writing is a masterpiece, and the music is fitting.
Benedick, Beatrice and the others are wonderful to look at and listen to and sums the movie up to one of the best Shakespeare movies of all time.
Predator (1987)
A modern classic...
When I first saw Predator, I was immediately struck by the genious way in which the director had presented this movie. Unlike what you might have presumed, this movie was not another B-action movie.
The entire concept, they location, the actors and the special effects, all make this film an equal to the Alien movies. But one of the movie's biggest assets is undoubtedly the music. Alan Silvestri was cut out for the job and the thrilling military theme in the music is perfect for the enviroment in which the movie is taking place.
The sequel was obviously not as good, but who would have expected it? However, it had a great movie to rely on, thus making it fairly acceptable, I would say.
Although the characters had relatively small roles, they invite to memories past, and I sure would like to see a movie where we get to now what Poncho means when he says; "Remember Afghanistan?" and Dutch replies;" Trying to forget..." . Obviously that is never going to happen, heheh, but who can blame me for dreaming...
