The Crow (2024)
Gory blood soaked remake worth a look
Not bothered it's not like the original a big fan but this was different enough as a standalone film. Skarsgard was very good and the story had a decent slow build for you to care about the characters.
Visually impressive and well edited for the most part.
The story did go off on tangents but it didn't bother me.
I was surprised how gory and bloody it was with a few omg moments, that along was worth the admission but if that is a turn off stay away from this one.
I saw the original in the cinema back in the day and was blown away but local critics wasn't so with that go see it or just read reviews and never see anything that's up to you. For me this was far from a bad movie.
Bring Him to Me (2023)
Good crime noir
Worth a look just for Barry peppers performance alone.
Slow burn with satisfying ending, filmed in my local town so I enjoyed it on another level.
Movie tell of a heist gone wrong and the price you pay pay for your actions and inactions. Don't be fooled this film doesn't shy away from the hard reality of life and crime.
Supporting cast from the always reliable Sam neil and racheal Griffith but the true star is Barry pepper the man as a face for this and could easy replace as the new Clint Eastwood for our time.
Story may not be new but it's never dull or lazy.
And the action for a low budget product was effective and brutal, what we come to expect these days.
