99 Homes (2014)
Really good beginning ... falls terribly short in the last 20min
The movie started off strong... great characters ... and good performances
The last 20min the movie just started taken a turn for the worst .... Made no sense.
Fathom (2021)
Hardly any whales ... sentimental tripe
Slow shots ... trying to be clever ...it just misses the mark.
Incendies (2010)
Story of a selfish women
This is a story of a selfish person who did what she wants and ended up with the death of her lover, disgrace of her family line and ruin the lives of her siblings ....
Sometimes chasing a love story and crossing the line results in nothing but tragedy...
Amazing film nonetheless .... brilliantly directed
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Dani's character is terribly miscast
Why cast a midget to play this role? There are plenty of strong Latino girls that could have done a far better job !
They keep milking this franchise ... I don't know if studios realise that today's young generation don't turn up to cinemas to watch this crap... it's us older folks that are trying to find some familiarity to quench our yearning for nostalgia ... but we get let down because it's a lazy derivation of the original classics
Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer (2019)
Mind blown
Amazing ... a well done documentary ... suspenseful ... keeps you guessing till the very end ...
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee: Matthew Broderick: These People That Do This Stuff. They Stink. (2019)
I think I just cracked a nut ?
Hilarious ... did not know that Mathew B was this naturally funny ... I loved the banter ....
I'd wish they stop doing those cuts... if they could just keep the camera on the two ... without cutting away to a shot of a coffee being poured .. it would allow me to feel more absorbed in their discussion...
Shaft (2019)
Sam Jackson is 73years old
This is a fun Netflix film...
SJ knocks those onliners out of the park..
The film ends with a funny shaft trio ... there is a lot of comedic potential getting those characters to play of each other
looking forward to a few more sequels
The Highwaymen (2019)
Probably the best film I have seen on Netflix
Great movie ... really happy to see Kevin Costner back on his game ... loved the slow pace and acting
Captain Marvel (2019)
Good film.... shame about the false press
Great film... can't wait to see carol danvers in endgame...
I agree that the character arc is a little weak and the plot is not at the same league as some of the more recent marvel movies ....
but it is still a great film ... and a nice intro to captain marvel character ...
It's just a shame that film has been covertly politicised by the mainstream media ... pitting left against right for click bait and add revenue ...
go watch this film and make up your own mind
The Wedding Planner (2001)
Why spend millions to make terrible films!? WHY!
Just another movie for J-Lo to parade around showing off her big butt.
Why do people go and watch this. If you people stop watching J-Lo movies and listening to her self absorbed conceited music she'll disappear from our lives forever.
And then she could live out the rest of her days away from us
in one of her big mansions swimming in the billions of dollars she robbed from us.
I was unfortunate enough to see this film on my plane ride. It's the only time I ever wished for the plane to crash.
POOOO'EEEE !
The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
First Hour was a complete waste of my time but the rest of the film made up for it.
This film could have been amazing.
The first hour is just Load of Sh**. Might as well watch a special on jar jar binks. So pointless.
The film's main downfall is that it tries to be too many things at once and cover too much story. They were running out of time and the last 30 minutes was literally like a trailer!
The fighting scenes were amazing, but UNLIKE the first film, the choice of music for those fight scene was RIDICULOUS. Completely out of sync with the action and it really spoiled the rhythm.
And those Lawrence Fish-bone speeches.. so dire, so naff. Probably written by some hippy. I was really embarrassed for those actors.
I am disappointed. there were brilliant actions scene, a good story line, but the editing, the directing, the acting are all horrible!
I hope there is a director's cut in the future that sorts out this mess.
Bowling for Columbine (2002)
EYE OPENER
I have spent a part of my life living in America and yes, I agree totally with Michael Moore's depiction of the typical US citizen. While living in the US, I learnt that the common American is a good-natured welcoming person who is sociable and friendly, more so than any of his European counterparts. Yet, to see common Americans displaying all levels of paranoia towards even the smallest print read in a newspaper or shortest phrase heard on the news channels is quite saddening. Michael Moore's documentary is an amazing piece of filmmaking that tackles this issue eloquently and articulates exactly what I feel about American culture. It raises the question "why are Americans conditioned to be paranoid?' what is the reason behind news channels to preach this fear. Is it Money? Ratings? If so what about the American government? Whose attitude to fictitious threats (mirror to the attitude of the common American) has made American policy a revered and hated notions in almost every foreign culture and drove America to almost ritually make a new enemy every decade or so; communism (led to cold war, north Korea and Vietnam) drugs (led still ongoing US military attacks against Columbian drug lords) and NOW Muslims and terrorism. By far the best documentary I have seen, its true that it will not change the fear-addict attitude of every American that sees it, yet "not every one who watches a Lexus advert goes and buys a Lexus, but some will".
Deliverance (1972)
Eerily thought provoking
It is Burt Reynolds's best film.
Based on a genre drawn from Dostoyevsky's "crime and punishment" and Edgar Allan Poe's "Tell Tale Heart" etc., the film brilliantly tackles the reality of murder and its moral/conscience consequences.
It is enthralling, suspenseful and has excellent character development. Although Jon Voight had the lead role, it was Burt that delivered the best lines and more memorable performance.
Recommend it highly, especially for that tune.
