Nâsu enjeru Ririka SOS (1995)
Only for girls in grade school.
I saw this a couple of years ago, and it's just not for anyone over 12 years old. All it's about is the adventures of a little school girl(not even a teen)whose school gets attacked and she discovers that she is some Nurse Angel whose job is to fight evil. The comedy isn't funny and the action wasn't that great. I will admit that I've only seen a couple of episodes, but after watching them, I've decided to avoid this series.
K.O. Beast (1992)
Still one of my favorite anime series.
My friend introduced KO Century Beast I and II a few years ago. It's a great anime with good action and fight scenes, and lots of humor. The character designs and animation has a "kiddy" look to it, but it does go well with this series. The story was about four beasts who were captured when humans attack their homelands and kidnaped them and the villages "Jins". They were Wan for the beast world(transforms into a tiger), Mei Mah(was that her name?)from the mermaid tribe, Bud from the Bird tribe(who uses a lot of English words), and some fat guy(don't remember name) who turned into a turtle. The Jin are protectors of their homelands, but these three are supposed to be the most powerful of all the Jin ever created. While locked in a bubble, a little human girl named Uni was playing with her ball when she saw the beasts, and let them out. It was really her grandfathers doing because he wanted the beasts to escape and take Uni with her; he felt that place was too dangerous for Uni. It's not a bad storyline, nothing great but acceptable. On a scale of 1-10, I would give this about an "8".
Battle Fighters Garou Densetsu 2 (1993)
My favorite of the three, but it needs work.
I've been an SNK fan since the early days of Ikari Warriors and Athena. I like a majority of the games for the NeoGeo and that's why I was excited when I first heard about the Fatal Fury anime. Well, I wasn't too disappointed with it, but it definitely could have been better. The animation is good, but not great. The fight scenes should have been a lot better(seeing Axel Hawk get knocked out with one punch just isn't right). Even the last fight was lamed. Wolfgang never even hit the ground, but he just assumed he lost and then falls out the window in his castle, WTF? Well, at least this was better than the first one. I would recommend this for a rental at best. I wouldn't mind seeing an anime version of Fatal Fury 3, or Real Bout, but that might not happen.
