Summer Hill is a fictional town in Maryland that was based off of Writer and Director Tyler C. Peterson's hometown, Rising Sun, MD. Despite the film all taking place across one town, the film was shot over four days in Reisterstown, Westminster, and Baltimore, MD.
The original song that Jasmine Washington performs was written and sung by the film's Director of Photography, Amanda Ferrarese, and produced by first assistant camera, Nick Gorey. Writer and Director Tyler C. Peterson wanted to ensure that Jasmine's song was written by a woman of color in order to be as genuine and truthful to Jasmine's experience as possible.
This is the third short film in a row by Tyler C. Peterson that Molly Shayna Cohen has starred in, Laura Gede has Production Designed, and Valerie Genzano has Assistant Directed.
