March 2024 Box Office Expectations Do Not Bring Hope Despite Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan & Siddharth Malhotra Arriving. (Photo Credit – IMDb/Instagram)
The year 2024 has offered us 8 Hindi films in the theaters, and now March 2024 is ready with as many as 12 Hindi releases in the theater. However, are these 12 films a hope for a March 2024 box office boom? Certainly not. However, the month definitely has a mixed bag with some unpredictable and dicey moves.
The only thing that might be certain is that March 2024 will perform better than March 2023 at the box office. Last year, the films released in the third month earned a total of 260.59 crores, and this month, the 12 films in total are targetting somewhere around the same number, but only in one condition – if word of mouth acts like a charm for some films.
In February as well, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya...

There seems to be some positive development for the exhibition trade, as some filmmakers are venturing to release their films at the cinema halls. Last year, due to Corona, some of the best release slots were lost. Since then, neither filmmakers nor viewers have come forward to take in a movie at a cinema hall.
Not that any film released since lockdown in cinema halls was withdrawn -- albeit with restrictions -- had what is called face value or promotion. The few films that managed to release were not worth one's while even during normal situation, least of all in Corona time.
Since the cinemas reopened in September last year, films like "Khali Peeli", "Bolo Hau", "Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari", "Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi", "12 'O' Clock", "Madam Chief Minister", "Kaagaz", "Indoo Ki Jawani", "Amma Ki Boli" and a few other such films released in cinema halls. They had...

Itanagar, March 11 (Ians) Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday unveiled the portable cinema theatre Digiplex here. Khandu along with Bamang Felix, Minister of Home and Inter State Border Affairs, inaugurated the Picturetime Digiplex with a flag-off ceremony.
"This is an initiative taken by the Ipr and tourism department. The government's thought process behind this was that entertainment should not just be limited to metro cities but should also be accessible to the rural areas. These mobile theatres would be helpful with not just providing entertainment, but also in education purposes. There is a craze for Bollywood films here too, and with these portable theatres we could bring newly-released films to the villages," Chief Minister Khandu said.
"I hope our vision to help empower people in the interiors/rural areas will succeed and everyone will benefit from this set-up. We have ordered five such theatres and will send them to various districts of Arunachal.

Kaagaz (Zee5)
Directed by Satish Kaushik
Kaagaz tells a very peculiar and poignant story of a man from Uttar Pradesh who spent 18 years of his life proving that he was alive. Unfortunately a bigger tragedy than the one that befalls Lal Bihari strikes this well-intended film on his life.
Kaagaz is peculiar but not the least poignant. Director Satish Kaushik with all his experience in theatre and cinema, fails to invoke any real sympathy in us for Lal Bihari who for all practical purposes, is dead on governmental paper. If we feel no real sympathy for Lal Bihari it isn’t our fault. Kaushik starts off the story as one of monstrous bureaucratic bungling and then takes the tragedy into the dangerous territory of farce with Lal Bihari making evey effort to get arrested so that the ensuing Fir would prove he’s alive.

What to say about a movie that brings great writers like Harishankar Parsai, Sharad Joshi, actors like Sanjeev Kumar and filmmakers like Basu Chatterjee alive for those 2+ hours. Satish Kaushik’s Kaagaz starring Pankaj Tripathi in the lead does that.
Based on the real-life story of Bihari Lal aka Lal Bihari Mritak, a farmer activist and a dead man between 1975 and 1994. Pankaj...

Actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik has revealed why he chose to come back to direction after a gap of six years. Kaushik has helmed the Pankaj Tripathi-starrer upcoming film Kaagaz, which is slated to release in January.
"I read a news article about Lal Bihari Mritak many years ago and I was touched by his journey. When I researched about him, I felt that his story deserved to be told and I wanted to do that myself. That's why I decided to helm this project after a gap of six years," said Kaushik, whose last directorial was the 2014 release Gang Of Ghosts.

Mumbai, Dec 9 (Ians) Acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi has emerged as an unlikely star of the Ott world. He does not fulfil the stereotype of traditional good looks, neither does he cut an image of traditional heroism. He certainly does not belong to the GenNow brigade. Yet, every time a new project comes up flaunting his name in the credits, fans sit up excitedly.
Tripathi attributes his success to his diverse choices, stating he has worked hard to get to this point.
This year, he has showcased his brilliance as an actor in projects as diverse as "Mirzapur 2", "Ludo", "Extraction", and "Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl", besides the big screen release "Angrezi Medium", where he had a limited but quirky footage.
The year coming up promises to be even more exciting for his fans. He has six finished projects lined up. These are "83", "Kaagaz", "Mimi", "Criminal Justice 2", an untitled film...

It was 1979 when Satish Kaushik came to Mumbai from Delhi to achieve his dream of becoming an actor, and it took a lot of hard work, dedication to reach where he is today. Looking back at those days, Kaushik reveals he even worked as a cashier before venturing into films.
"It was a big thing to even have a thought of entering Bollywood at that time -- especially for a person who belongs to a middle class family in Karol Bagh, Delhi. I clearly remember how I worked as a cashier for a year in a textile mill to meet my financial needs. I did not want to sleep on platforms, so I had worked a lot to earn enough to be able to sleep without an empty stomach. I used to receive only Rs 400 a month for that job. After finishing my job, I used to go to Prithvi Theatre and do plays,...
