I had to stop the movie three times (family reasons) while watching it, but in the meantime I couldn't stop thinking about it.
I found something powerful in the gazes of the characters, especially Nik's. He is so expressive, so deep; has a world in his eyes.
He seems halfway between fury and peace, the condition both really seek, like home.
There are several aspects that don't need as much explanation to understand (again, due to gazes, and a few but useful words), so I think this is one of the reasons why I loved this movie.
And hope.

I loved 'Transference'. Not only was the music beautiful and so fitting for each moment of the film, the characters and performances were brilliant, both nuanced and intense at the same time. It's a nice slow burn and as such, you are gripped wanting to find out more about the two main characters. By the end I was so invested, I just wanted to keep watching.

Indie film at its best. Stunning performance and directing from Raffaello Degruttola. A profound love story with an important message. Great performamces from all cast members. I was totally immersed in this film and I understand why it received so many nominations.

This film portrayed the depth and severity of mental awareness, in a very beautiful way.
Gripping, intriguing and very honest. Great piece of work!
If you are a fan of hidden gems in the independent film genre then this film is for you. This film explores an intense and whirlwind romance between an older man with a mental illness and a young lady eager to see the world and experience life. Both characters have their own charm about them. I love how the characters come from different cultural backgrounds which appears to seperate but also connect them. The age gap brings an element of innocence to the relationship. Beautifully written. The shots are artistic and the music accompanies them perfectly. Amazing actors.

A topic which affects many but is hugely underrepresented. The fine line between obsession and mental illness is played brilliantly here by Raffaello Degruttolla, and the innocence of Emilie Sofie Johannesen is captivating. Beautifully shot, with great cameos from some fantastic actors.

I really enjoyed this film. The story line was interesting and everything became clear at the end. I would definitely recommend!
I thoroughly enjoyed this. This is a film that will stay with you long after watching. Its honest look at mental health and it's impact on a relationship is really well executed and the locations chosen as well as the brilliant performances draw you in to their very real struggle.
