But there is a flaw in the narrative that bothered me a lot.
There is no mention of Admiral Fletcher at all, not even once. It is as if the person who had tactical command never existed. But they do mention Spruance who was his subordinate.
Can you imagine a report about the battle of Trafalgar and no mention of Lord Nelson?
I also watched the Battle of Britain, which is listed as number two in this series, and there they do honor to Dowding and Park. This was pleasing since Dowding had suffered a similar fate as Fletcher did due to pettiness of other high officials.
The movie 'Midway' 2019, also has no character portraying Fletcher at all.
And the original movie Midway with Heston depicts Fletcher as dithering.
It is sad that the misinformation campaign is still strong.
I wonder what John. B. Lundstrom and John. T. Keuhne will think of this documentary, not amused my guess.
