After watching the pilot, I gave this show a 5/10. But after watching episodes 3 and 4, I feel like Duncanville is beginning to find its footing. It's got great jokes, the characters are interesting, and the stories are unique. I'm eager to watch more.

"Duncanville" is a simple series with a simple plot. It tries to be entertaining and relatable to young people. Does it get to do it? Yes. The series has a humor that knows where to stop, and characters whose personalities you can see in yourself. But they are a bit empty sometimes. Some jokes aren't good and some topics are just unusual. The first two episodes are the best ones to me, but I think the story they present is forgotten easily some episodes later.
Duncan is a funny teenager with a female voice, it's nice. The other characters are fine, but they could be working better. The plot doesn't seem to, like, exist or advance through the first season, but there's so much more to watch yet. I hope it gets better and finds its own essence, because it doesn't look so different from any other "adult" series. However, "Duncanville" is imperfect and incomplete, but it's funny as the average show you watch once in a while. It could be so much better, I hope it's just a matter of time.
I see a lot of 1 stars and I'm kind of confused. There are only 2 episodes of this show, and I think it's off to a good start. Sure it's first two episodes were decent, but it's very hard to judge a show off of its first season. If you remember Disenchantment, it's first 4-5 episodes were really not very good.
Regardless of that, I think basing this off of other pilots, this show can either find its rhythm or fail. Now, based off of that, I believe that this show is pretty good. It contains a lot of things that someone that is the age of the characters can relate. It's a feel-good (kind of), relatable and sometimes comedic animated show.
On the opposite side, this show can be (as much as I hate saying this word) cringe-worthy. There are a lot of jokes that really make me just kinda want to turn it off, but that's not that often.
All I'm trying to say is, I think this show has potential, however, it'll need a lot more work in order to appeal to everyone (most audiences and all of the people who gave this 1 star. Overall, 6/10.

It appears that every person who has one type of taste for animated shows are reviewing this one. It's not a superb show, yet, but it does the foundation to become an animation hit. The characters, while being mostly simple and nothing write home about, are witty and entertaining most of the time.
People that are complaining that there is no plot or character development are really looking in the wrong place. This is not that type of show, at least not yet it isn't. This is only the pilot.
Simply put, don't expect the next Rick and Morty or Big Mouth from this, mostly because it is neither of those two shows. It's entertaining enough to give a chance.

Honestly, I didn't find this series to be as bad as some reviews say.
The jokes are a mixed bag, some are funny, others not so much, but nothing about this series is particularly terrible.
In my opinion, Duncanville would be better if it was a down-to-earth animated sitcom (Like King of the Hill) instead of trying to be a gentler, less extreme version of Family Guy, but I guess Mike Scully can't resist including these kind of jokes in all his series.
The same thing happened in the Napoleon Dynamite cartoon, but the result is somewhat more effective here. Still, I hope the series gets better on its next season.

Amy is awfull as Duncan, she should have done just Annie, but the show is ok, it's not so good so far this first season but it's not a disaster either, you can have fun.

I love this show. The cast ( Amy Poehler, Wiz Khalifa) and the characters are all hilarious. You can tell there was a story in season 1 that was building up or they were just saying outta pocket stuff but either way this show is hilarious and I'm just waiting for a weed episode!
There were a few funny moments and it's only a couple episodes but characters need work. I know the dad is suppose to be annoying but he's unbearable. I would give it sometime and it is not the worst animated show they try and pair with The simpsons or Bob's Burger.
Its like a Hot Take of all them main talking points of blog writers over the past 4yrs in one show.
It tries to be F is for Family for 2020.
But doesn't even have a quarter of the humor or writing quality.
It isn't funny, because all the jokes are memes. You could write a scene by scene of how the writer set around talking about which point to make set up within the confines of Duncan learning to drive.
So many check marks covered in just the first episode.
I don;t get the 1 or 10 stars. because its not worthy of a 10 at any level. Or a 1 because that would mean everything thing about it was useless. It wasn't.
The voice acting is good. The art style works.

Duncanville he's really improved since last season and it has me exited for the next episodes. They really have something here. Most bad reviews were based of the first season anyway and the next season has way higher reviews with later episodes. This has potential of at least 5 seasons.

Nothing special as far as I've seen. Some of the jokes were good, the animation is consistent, and the voice acting was good.
Will I watch more? Probably not. But it's definitely got potential to be something excellent in the future.

The pilot was a bit messy, but then it turned into gold. It's similar to Bless The Harts but way more funnier, characters actually have depth and development and surprise guest appearances with the voice actors (Wiz Khalifa). Give it a chance!

Solid cast, it's pacing is fine, and the writing is pretty good too. With proven funny man Mike Scully running it there is lots of potential for this decent little show.

It's a good show, not great but good. Although only like the first 2 episodes are about Duncan. After that the main plot for most episodes are about his parents. That's not necessarily a bad thing but you could change the title of the show if its not about Duncan.

It is trying way too hard to be hip and youthful but ends up being annoying. There was no plot development or character development no growth of any kind. It was bland and boring. The animation is just okay, it does not stand out in the least bit. My prediction is two seasons then it will be canceled.

The first episode I wasn't hooked, but it really grows on you and it's not one of my favorite shows.

I think this show brings a cool view to teenage life. Although the jokes aren't the funniest they still make me giggle. This show could improve but right now is a good base for it

Simpsons and Family Guy can't sustain Sunday night line-up forever ( they have been doing if for the last 20-30 years), which is why in the past few years Fox has been desperate to work a long-term replacement in. However Family guy and Simpsons were the result of an animation renaissance, and the shows are a product of art and talent. This isn't here in Duncanville, I don't know why Fox keeps using SNL alumni as the anchor for these shows (outside of SNL, no one really likes the cast).
Fox never should have NEVER sold American dad to TBS, and they should honestly take some notes from Comedy Central, Adult Swim and Netflix as these shows have had successful animated programs in the last 8 years. (South park, Rick & Morty, Bojack Horsemen etc).

It's solid and once they get all the world building out of the way it can be very good. I hope it doesn't try too hard to be edgy. Just let it be natural and it will work.

I tried with every breath in my body to like Duncanville. I can't. It was boring, not funny and just plain embarrassing

So you're telling me Jack has a normal iPad 10.2 yet Jing has a much better iPad Pro? What sort of logic is that?! LMAO!
The animation is kind of a mix between bobs burgers and family guy. The character designs are fun and the voice acting is really well done. The jokes are quick and there's some for the children watching and adults, although I will say it's hard to be hilarious without Fbombs and constant gore. You can't compare 11 minute adult swim shows to prime time cartoons. Even family guy has adapted to be more like adult swim with characters dying/nonsensical plot points only to be forgotten by the next scene. This show is more of an animated sitcom like the simpsons or bobs burgers.
Just because a character is gay or handicapped doesn't mean this is left wing propaganda. You people need to read a book, people around the world are different than you and that's ok.
Animation:Good. Voice acting:Great. Jokes:funny. Plot: it's the pilot calm down even bobs burgers was a lil slow at the beginning.
