The series accompanies a group of 16-year-olds on the journey of their life following day to day in real time. Dependence on social media, how they face sex, love and ruptures, religion, the search of their identity and the need to fit in.

Skam España is not as good as original SKAM but still it was quite enjoyable.
The series covers important and current topics such as sexuality, friendship, mental illness, religion or psychological abuse. I really like the Spanish version of Evak (Cris and Joana were so lovely together!) and Vilde - Celia Mondero as Viri was great. Sadly, I&#39;m not a huge fan of Nora and Amira.

Skam España

After the original, I decided to watch the remakes, of which there are quite a few (a Croatian version is coming this year, which I&#39;m looking forward to), the first one on my desktop was the Spanish remake, which attracted me the most. I can praise that it is quite well done and in some segments even better than the original. I liked the first season the least because it is almost a copied copy of the first season of the original, so it was not interesting for me to watch the same plot. Obviously, the authors of this version also saw this, because already in the second season they deviated from the original and started writing an original script, which turned out to be a complete hit. Cris and Joana, although they didn&#39;t manage to surpass Isaac and Evan from the original, were wonderful and I really loved their romance, which was portrayed quite realistically and Chris&#39; struggle with Joanna&#39;s mental illness, without trying to romanticize it. Both actresses have great chemistry, and I think it&#39;s good that in this version a little focus is also placed on the lesbian population, considering that in the original they were pretty marginalized. If we already had a male one, we should have also had a female representation of queer youth. However, the third season is an absolute masterpiece as far as I&#39;m concerned. If there&#39;s one reason I fully recommend this version, it&#39;s the third season. What a difference in Nora&#39;s story between the two versions. What disappointed me about the original was that they went for the romanticization of toxicity and the attempt to present Nora and William as a couple to root for. William is toned down in the Spanish version, but Nora isn&#39;t even paired this season with him but with a new character named Miguel and the two are the very definition of toxicity. In the beginning, I found them wonderful and adorable, but as the episodes progressed, Miguel showed his true colors. He did not abuse her physically, but he psychologically manipulated her, destroying her personality with his possessive jealousy. It was sad to see a feminist like Nora fall more and more into his clutches. A very realistic portrayal of a toxic love relationship between teenagers. The scene at the game where Nora finally breaks down and her friends hug her blew my mind. I started crying with her too. But it&#39;s those emotional moments that make me love the Skam universe. Definitely big kudos for the development of certain characters compared to the original, especially Viry (much more interesting than Wilde from the original), Chris (she served no purpose in the original. She&#39;s a much cooler character here and like I said, the romance with Joana) and Nore whose story in this version is better and more realistic. I plan to look at more Skam versions in the future. I&#39;m especially excited for the French, German, Italian and Belgian versions, which I&#39;ve heard raves about.

Find it really valuable. Even for educational purposes. Shows how teenagers deal with real life and it&#39;s fully accurate regarding several aspects such us relationships, friendship, religion, values... Hope there is a fifth!!

I may be a little biased because the only reason i started delving into the Skam franchise was because of this specific version, but i loved it so very much, with the exception of season 3. Starting out with season 1, i found eva to be pretty hard to like and root for, but i did see where she was coming from, with her boyfriend being extremely sus throughout the time she thought he could&#39;ve been lying. I felt like this version gave us a great introduction to the friend group and all of them individually, while still being able to focus on the season&#39;s main character focus at the same time. Eva&#39;s friendship with nora blossomed here and just made sense as the series continued. Moving onto season 2, as a lesbian with bpd, this was clearly going to be my favorite season and it didn&#39;t disappoint. I&#39;ve been waiting for more bpd representation in tv for so long and seeing the way they portrayed joana was honestly pretty accurate and didn&#39;t romanticize any aspect of the illness. It also allowed me to see cris and how she decided to handle the situation at first, then continue to grow in her relationship with joana, which included dealing with the bpd and acknowledging it in order to help as much as she could. The way that the creators didn&#39;t make cris&#39; coming out story as the focus was a great choice because this trope is already overused enough and sometimes there are deeper problems than what your parents may think about your sexuality. This season gave me more of cris and amira&#39;s friendship as well, which also just made perfect sense as the series went on. The series was continuously building and developing characters and their relationships with each other, giving the girls a genuine bond. Season 3 had... many issues. I was so excited for a nora/ viri season, thinking it would finally focus on one of my favorites but instead, they barely showed viri at all and then made nora go through an insufferable relationship and completely change from the girl i knew from season&#39;s past. It was very hard to watch but this is how life works and i guess it was showing the realistic side of things, that people can change into a worse version of themselves when they&#39;re with the wrong person. The way the girls were constantly there for nora was perfect though. Season 4 gave me everything i needed from amira&#39;s character. The complexities of being a muslim woman were really highlighted here and i appreciated all the education i got and the way amira didn&#39;t ever give up on her beliefs, even when it came to a boy she liked. Being able to see alex and nora get together was also all i could&#39;ve ever asked for from a finale season and the end felt like such a great closer for the show, instead of something abrupt. This season provided me with multiple great quotes that i can look back on and live by, which made me feel even more connected to the show as a whole. I loved it and it barely left me with more to ask for, especially seeing great side characters, like Lucas, share their stories throughout the seasons as well. A solid 9/10 rating from me.
