Succession actor Nicholas Braun, David Castañeda and O-t Fagbenle have joined the cast of The Climb director Michael Covino’s upcoming sex comedy Splitsville, from Neon and Topic Studios.

The film also stars the previously announced Dakota Johnson, Adria Arjona, Covino and Kyle Marvin. Neon International is shopping Splitsville at AFM in Las Veags this week. The indie recently wrapped production.

The comedy centers on Ashley (Arjona), who has asked for a divorce from good-natured Carey (Marvin), who then runs to his friends Julie (Johnson) and Paul (Covino) for support. Carey is then shocked to discover that the secret to their happiness is an open marriage, which he attempts, only to cross the line and throw all of their relationships into chaos.

Exclusive: Neon and Topic Studios have wrapped on their comedy Splitsville, directed by and starring The Climb‘s Michael Angelo Covino, adding Nicholas Braun (Succession), David Castañeda (The Umbrella Academy), and O-t Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale) to the cast.

Details as to the trio’s roles are being kept under wraps. As previously announced, Dakota Johnson, Adria Arjona, and Covino’s The Climb collaborator Kyle Marvin will also star.

Emmy winners Billy Porter and Guy Fieri are getting into the passenger’s seat for the road trip comedy 80 for Brady.

The duo are among the ensemble cast of the Paramount Pictures and Endeavor Content movie, which is led by Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field.

NFL star Tom Brady will appear and produce the movie through his 199 Productions shingle. Kyle Marvin, the actor-writer behind indie movie The Climb, directs from a script he co-wrote with Michael Covino, based on a draft by Booksmart writers Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins. The project has wrapped filming.

Inspired by a true story, Brady tells of four best friends and New England Patriots fans who take a life-changing trip to 2017’s Super Bowl Li to see their quarterback hero, Tom Brady. Chaos ensues as they navigate the wilds of the biggest sporting event in the country.

Sales agency Beta Cinema has revealed the casting of further lead roles for action thriller “The Climb”: Hero Fiennes Tiffin, star of the global box office franchise series “After,” as well as the upcoming Sony/Tristar feature “The Woman King,” and IMDb break-out star Hannah John-Kamen, best known for her performances in “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and “Black Mirror,” will star alongside Cara Delevingne, who was announced earlier this year.

After Signature Entertainment picked up the project ahead of the Marché du Film in Cannes for U.K. and Ireland, Beta Cinema has closed further deals for Germany, Austria and Italy (Koch Films), Switzerland (Ascot Elite), Spain (Youplanet Pictures) and Middle East (Front Row). Signature Entertainment has acquired UK-Ireland distribution rights to eco-action thriller The Climb starring Cara Delevingne.

The project, which is at script stage ahead of an April 2023 shoot, will depict the true story of Greenpeace activists who scaled The Shard skyscraper in London in 2013, to protest planned oil drilling in the Arctic.

Hayley Easton-Street, a visual effects and art director on titles including Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, is making her directorial debut on the film, which she has also written.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 7, Episode 10, of “The Masked Singer,” “Season Finale: I’m Team Good, Thanks for Masking,” which aired May 18 on Fox.

It came down to a battle of the Good in the season finale of “The Masked Singer” but only one could emerge victorious: Singer/actress/dancer Teyana Taylor.

“The Masked Singer” ended its seventh season with three finalists, all from “Team Good,” competing for the Golden Mask trophy. Landing behind the Firefly, “The Goldbergs” star Hayley Orrantia came in second place, as the Ringmaster, while “Call Me Kat” star Cheyenne Jackson earned the bronze as the Prince.

For Firefly, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg guessed right, with Taylor. Nicole Scherzinger thought it was Monica, and Ken Jeong guessed Alicia Keys.

As for Ringmaster, no one guessed Orrantia. Thicke thought it was with Maren Morris, Scherzinger chose Lucy Hale.

That’s a wrap on Fox’s “The Masked Singer” Season 7! All was revealed Wednesday night, as Firefly, Ringmaster, and The Prince went head-to-head for the top spot.

The Prince was the first to be eliminated after a rendition of “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. While earlier in the season the judges had assumed that the contestant behind the frog mask was an athlete, they were confident he had to be a performer by the end of his run. Guesses included Ben Platt, Ricky Martin and Matt Bomer — who are all good friends of the actual competitor, Cheyenne Jackson.

“Once they started honing in on the theatricality of The Prince, it was very funny to hear them kind of listing off all of my friends,” Jackson told TheWrap. “I was laughing inside my frog head.”

Hayley Easton Street has written and will direct the movie. Street is an experienced VFX art director with credits including Justice League and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Orange Studio, the film and TV production and distribution arm of France’s leading telco group, is launching a trio of new projects, “The Nannies,” “The Green Perfume” and “A Cat’s Life,” at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris.

“The Nannies” (“Les femmes du square”), directed by Julien Rambaldi (“Labor Day”), stars Eye Haïdara (“C’est la Vie”) as Angèle, a young undocumented woman in her thirties who lives on the outskirts of Paris. Threatened by gangsters she conned, Angèle decides to leave her neighborhood and starts working as a nanny for Hélène’s 10-year-old son in a chic Parisian area. Although she’s supposed to keep a low profile, Angèle meets other nannies, some of whom are being taken advantage of, and sets out to help them. Haïdara stars in the film opposite Ahmed Sylla (“The Climb”) and Léa Drucker (“Custody”).

FX announced that the pilot based on Octavia Butler’s 1979 science fiction novel “Kindred” has cast Micah Stock, Ryan Kwanten, Gayle Rankin, Austin Smith, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy and David Alexander Kaplan as series regulars.

They join previously announced cast member Mallori Johnson, who will play the lead role of Dana, a young Black writer who finds herself transported back and forth between the present and a 19th century slave plantation.

Stock is primarily known for his stage work, including his Tony-nominated performance as Gus in Terrence McNally’s “It’s Only a Play.” He will also star in John Slattery’s upcoming film “Maggie Moore(s)” alongside Jon Hamm and Tina Fey. His other credits include Netflix’s “Bonding,” Disney Plus’ “The Right Stuff,” and Paul Downs Colaizzo’s film “Brittany Runs A Marathon.” Stock is repped by ICM, Anonymous Content and ID.

Sondra James, a character actor who has appeared in film, TV and onstage over the past four decades with the likes of Ben Affleck, Robert De Niro, Christopher Lloyd, Mike Birbiglia and Joaquin Phoenix in his Oscar-winning role in 2019’s Joker, died September 12 in her native New York City after a five-month battle with lung cancer. She was 82.

The news was confirmed Monday by her manager Carolyn Anthony of Anthony & Associates Ltd.

James, made her feature film debut in Woody Allen’s 1995 pic Mighty Aphrodite, setting off a string of big-screen acting and voice credits that included Alfie, Taking Woodstock, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, The Dictator, Robots, Don’t Think Twice, Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Climb and as Dr. Sally in Todd Phillips’ Joker.

HBO Max has handed Jason Momoa and professional rock climber Chris Sharma’s rock climbing competition series The Climb an eight-episode order. The series hails from Momoa, through his On the Roam banner; Sharma and The Intellectual Property Corporation (Ipc)

Developed by On the Roam, Sharma and by Ipc, which is an Industrial Media Company, The Climb seeks to represent the foundations of rock climbing and the exploration of the human spirit. In this all-encompassing competition, amateur climbers are put through a rigorous series of mental and physical challenges, utilizing the most intimidating ascents in the world to crown the world’s best amateur climber.

Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, and Matt Shanfield executive produce on behalf of The Intellectual Property Corporation (Ipc), an Industrial Media company, which also handles all production services. Momoa, Brian Mendoza and James Mendoza also serve as executive producers for On the Roam as well as Sharma and Jonathon Resteck.
