The USS Arizona Band is the only military band in history to have lost its entire compliment of men in battle.
When the production interviewed Frank Emond, a USS Pennsylvania musician, he had just celebrated his 100th birthday.
The average age of the bandsmen was just 20 years of age.
The members of the USS Arizona band were originally assigned to the USS Tennessee; they were transferred to the USS Arizona after the bandmaster originally assigned to the Arizona asked to serve with his brother aboard the USS Tennessee.
At the time of production, there were only four survivors from the USS Arizona still living. The production interviewed 3 of the 4. Since then, two of those survivors passed away. The last two survivors are Lou Conter of Grass Valley, California USA and Ken Potts of Provo, Utah USA.
