In news that shocks no one, the Twitch streaming community is in the middle of yet another controversy. What’s even less shocking is that Asmongold has a part in it. The streamer is one of the platform’s biggest creators and is threatening to expose its alleged “extremely biased” moderation system.

The whole thing started when a clip surfaced of Central_Committee, also known as Mike from Pa, allegedly making a threatening statement about political commentator Destiny. Central_Committee was banned for a mere three days which caused the streamer to demand stricter enforcement. Now he has pledged to “expose” the platform’s biased policies.

Rumble wasn’t the only digital platform to see a major spike in viewership on Election Day. YouTube generated 72 million hours of watch time with Voting Day coverage–and, like on cable TV, Fox News was one of the most-watched entities offering real-time reporting of ballot results.
According to data from Streams Charts, YouTube generated more Election Day watch time than any other platform: It alone grabbed over 80% of livestream viewership across the web. Right-leaning Rumble came in second place with 13.1% of viewership (around 11 million hours), followed by Twitch with around ~4 million hours. Kick got just 1.6% of viewership, around 1.3 million views.
Streams Charts says peak viewership for Election Day coverage hit 9.14 million viewers across platforms. Average concurrent viewership for political coverage throughout the day was around 3.5 million, with that figure of course spiking the closer we got to the announcement of results in key swing states like Pennsylvania and Michigan.

The 2024 election turned into a reckoning for the American left, with a red wave spreading across the country on November 5. The reelection of President Donald Trump also affected the tech ecosystem as conservative platforms and creators enjoyed Election Day viewership spikes.
No platform exemplifies that trend better than Rumble. The streaming hub that brands itself as a haven for free speech and right-wing positions enjoyed its best day ever on November 5, when its platform-wide peak traffic reached a new high of 1.79 million viewers.
According to Streams Charts, which tracks viewership data across major platforms, this is the third time in 2024 that Rumble has set a new record for its peak viewership. Its previous best also came during a political moment: The September debate between Trump and Kamala Harris, which drew more than one million viewers to Rumble at its peak.

When you see images of Charlotte Kirk looking like a tough action heroine, you usually expect those images to be from a Neil Marshall film, as the couple has recently collaborated on Duchess, The Lair, and The Reckoning – but yesterday, the folks at Coming Soon unveiled a trio of images that show Kirk as the tough heroine in the upcoming action thriller Myra, and this is not a Neil Marshall movie. Currently in production in Tijuana, Mexico, Myra is coming our way from director R. Ellis Frazier, whose previous credits include Across the Line: The Exodus of Charlie Wright, Dead Drop, Misfire, Rumble, 8 Days Carlo, Larceny, Legacy, Hustle Down, Repeater, As Good as Dead, and Day Labor. The images that show Kirk as the title character can now be seen in this article.

An influential attorney in Donald Trump’s campaign to subvert the outcome of the 2020 presidential election has outlined a proposal for Trump to steal the 2024 electoral college votes in the state of North Carolina — the results in November be damned.
Ivan Raiklin is a former Green Beret and an attorney; he has raised alarms in Congress by positioning himself as a future “secretary of retribution” in a new Trump administration, reportedly compiling an enemies list of more than 300 members of the supposed “Deep State.”

Neal Mohan gave iShowSpeed his diamond play button. YouTube’s creator rewards may be shrinking, but the platform is compensating with exemplary customer service. It’s not every day that a tech CEO hand-delivers a gift to a creator, but when you break YouTube records, you get special treatment.
DrDisrespect might even be too controversial for Rumble. After reportedly soliciting a minor, DrDisrespect is banned from Twitch. Kick doesn’t want him, and even right-leaning Rumble might spurn him, though the platform’s CEO could have ideas of his own. Speaking of disgraced streamers…

A live broadcast that carried on for 11 days has raised ethical questions about streaming trends. An Australian creator named Norme succeeded in his attempt to stay awake for 264 hours in a row, though he was banned on three different platforms in the process.
Norme attempted to forgo sleep for 11 straight days in order to certify himself as a Guinness World Records holder. Though the actual record is nearly twice as long, that person used stimulants, and Norme planned to eschew uppers during his attempt.
There’s just one problem with that plan: The feat Norme attempted (and eventually pulled off) is extremely dangerous. People who completed similar challenges warned the streamer that it would take years to undo the damage he caused for himself, if he could even undo it at all.
“Sleep deprivation like this can cause serious damage to the brain,” said commentator Philip DeFranco in a video discussing Norme’s stunt.

George Clooney is praising Joe Biden for dropping out of the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump. The Oscar-winning actor made headlines on July 10 for publishing an op-ed in The New York Times in which he urged Biden to end his campaign following his disastrous performance in the first 2024 presidential debate. Now, Clooney is saying Biden has saved democracy by dropping out out of the race.
“President Biden has shown what true leadership is,” Clooney said in a statement obtained by Variety. “He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest.”
Clooney’s original op-ed urging Biden to drop out was notable as it was published only a few weeks after the actor co-hosted a huge Hollywood fundraiser for Biden that raised a record $28 million.

The Western audiences became familiar with Jackie Chan’s crazy edge-of-the-seat action sequences and physical comedy from 1995’s Rumble in the Bronx. The film, as the name suggests, was completely shot in the Bronx, New York State. Viewers were surprised by this Hong Kong actor who did everything for his movie, including extremely dangerous stunts.

The conservative cable news channel Newsmax is planning to go public, and is also seeking to raise as much as $225 million in a private placement, in a push to expand its presence in both cable TV and in streaming.
The company posted an investor presentation to its website Tuesday outlining the planned private placement, as well as revealing that it planned to raise another $75 million when going public on the new York Stock Exchange or Nasdaq. The company says it has already reserved the ticker Nmax.
According to Chris Ruddy, Newsmax’s CEO, the decision to raise capital and go public is meant to capitalize on what he sees as a boom time for conservative media, sparked in part by former President Trump’s Truth Social.

The total eclipse crossing the United States on Monday is more than a celestial marvel. According to Maga-minded “prophets” with dubious gifts of divination, the eclipse is a signal of God’s design for America, and another marker that former President Donald Trump is heaven’s “anointed” candidate.

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is running online advertising to raise cash for 2024 — and a portion of that ad spending is monetizing pro-Nazi content on the streaming service Rumble, Rolling Stone has observed.
In a short video ad that plays before select videos on Rumble, Trump makes a pitch to the Maga masses to help him counter “crooked Joe Biden” by donating to his 2024 campaign: “I am very humbly asking if you could chip in $5, $10, or even $25.” Trump vows that donors will help him “win back the White House” and “make America great again,...

Officials from the Kansas Republican Party have faced widespread criticism and calls for resignations after a fundraising event titled “Grand Ol’ Party,” took place in Overland Park, Kansas, and featured an effigy of President Joe Biden that attendees were encouraged to physically assault.
Video footage from the event shows individuals punch, kick and swing a bat at a Biden mannequin dressed in a “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt. The incident sparked a significant response on social media and ignited a broader conversation about the boundaries of political discourse and the importance of respectful engagement, regardless of ideological differences.
Although the video, originally uploaded to the video platform Rumble, was later deleted, Democratic commentator and attorney Kaivan Shroff uploaded a video of the event to X. Kansas GOP officials swiftly condemned the attacks on the effigy.

Update: Actor turned right-wing political activist Laurence Fox’s misogynistic rant on episode of “Dan Wootton Tonight” on U.K. channel Gb News has fallen afoul of media regulator Ofcom.
Comments made during the program by Fox targeting female political journalist, Ava Evans, prompted 8,867 complaints to Ofcom with viewers expressing concerns that his remarks were sexist, misogynistic and offensive.
Ofcom launched an investigation into the matter. “We found that Mr. Fox’s comments constituted a highly personal attack on Ms. Evans and were potentially highly offensive to viewers. They reduced her contribution to a broadcast discussion on mental health – in her professional capacity as a political journalist – to a judgment on whether she, or women like her who publicly expressed their political opinions, were sexually desirable to men,” Ofcom said. “As such, we considered that Mr. Fox’s comments were degrading and demeaning both to Ms Evans and women generally...

Plenty of American traditions surround Super Bowl Sunday: good food, overproduced commercials, the Puppy Bowl, and having octopi (and other animals) predict the game’s outcome are just a few. But in recent years one tradition has consistently threatened to ruin everyone’s fun, that being right-wingers spending more time fuming about their pet political and cultural grievances than actually enjoying the game.

Tracy Chapman brought down the house with a stunning performance of “Fast Cars” alongside Luke Combs. Joni Mitchell earned a rousing ovation for her first performance on the Grammy stage, singing “Both Sides Now” while backed by Brandi Carlile, Allison Russell, Sistastrings, Lucius, Jacob Collier, and Blake Mills. Taylor Swift is the odds-on favorite to make history with an Album of the Year victory for “Midnights.” It would be her fourth win in the category following victories for “Fearless,” “1989” and “Folklore.” That would set a new record for the most Album of the Year wins for any recording artist ever, breaking Swift’s tie with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon. But she’s only tipped to win two other categories out of her six total nominations: Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights...

After insisting publicly for years that it was not dead-set on pursuing sports rights, Netflix has made a landmark deal for one of linear TV’s staples, WWE’s Monday Night Raw.
Starting in January 2025, Netflix will now be the exclusive home of Raw in the U.S., Canada, UK and Latin America. Additional territories from Netflix’s footprint of more than 190 are to be added over time. USA Network had aired the Raw franchise and launched it in January 1993.
The deal is for 10 years and more than $5 billion, a person familiar with the terms told Deadline.
Along with the main Raw program, Netflix will become the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the U.S., including other weekly shows SmackDown and Nxt. Sorry ABC, CBS and CNN, there’s a new player in the political primary debate fray.
NewsNation, the upstart cable news channel owned by local TV giant Nexstar, will host the fourth Republican primary debate next month.
The debate, which will also air on the Nexstar-owned CW network, will be moderated by NewsNation anchor Elizabeth Vargas, as well as SiriusXM host (and former Fox News primetime star) Megyn Kelly, as well as The Washington Free Beacon’s Eliana Johnson.
The debate will be held Dec. 6 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and will also stream on NewsNation’s website, the conservative video platform Rumble, and on SiriusXM.
The debate is a coup for Nexstar, which has been trying to grow NewsNation as an “unbiased” alternative to the other cable news channels. It’s also a big win for Vargas, the former ABC News anchor who joined NewsNation earlier this year, and for Kelly,...

Rumble has made a brave stand as a right-leaning “free speech” video site where users can get life advice from accused human trafficker Andrew Tate, learn how vaccinated people are “ticking time bombs,” dive into QAnon lore about Princess Diana and JFK Jr. faking their deaths to take down an evil banking cabal, or adopt the screenname “Jew Hunter” while using a picture of a Ku Klux Klan rally as a profile background.
