Former One Direction member Zayn Malik joins forces with director José Padilha ("Elite Squad", "RoboCop" remake) in this clip paying respects and tribute to De Palma's "Scarface" (1983). Not sure who brought me here if Zayn or Padilha but I watched it anyway and I liked it. It's all great to look at it, from the beautiful cinematography to the gorgeous Zayn showing his acting skills.
As said, "Scarface" is the prime inspiration for the video but the crime element is out. Here, Malik plays the guy in love with the beautiful wife of his boss (Steven Bauer, Manny in the actual movie), just like Tony Montana was head over heels for Michelle Pfeiffer character. Small moments of sensuality and danger.
Very stylish but the other key to sell the video is slightly weak....which is the forgettable music. Aside that the production values are first rate. 7/10
