Sequel to “Dragon Ball Super: Broly “(2018), “Dragonball Super: Super Hero” is the twenty-first animated feature film in the Dragon Ball franchise, the second to carry the Dragon Ball Super branding, the first to be produced mainly using CGI animation, as well as the fourth and final animated Dragon Ball film to be produced under the supervision of franchise creator Akira Toriyama before his death in March 2024. It is also a kind of a tribute film to the whole iconic series, with the majority of characters that have appeared through the years appearing one way or the other, plus enough fanservice to satisfy all the fans of “Dragonball”.

The Dragon Ball franchise is often criticized for preferring brawls over plot, and even Akira Toriyama is aware of this shortcoming. While the very first Dragon Ball series focused more on the adventure aspect, as the franchise continued with Dragon Ball Z, Gt, Super, and others, battles were given more focus.

Fans have thus begun missing the adventures of Goku, who roamed around places to get stronger. The World Martial Tournament in which different characters battled each other without impossibly high stakes, is also sorely missed.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is the 20th movie of the franchise, and after its release, it became the highest-grossing anime film of 2018. It was also a huge hit in the United States and Canada, and all of Akira Toriyama’s efforts for the movie have paid off.
Just like other Dragon Ball movies, Akira Toriyama was personally involved with this film. From the story to the screenplay and even checking on character designs, the creator left no stone unturned to make Broly a huge hit, and he, like always, didn’t disappoint.

Akira Toriyama created Dragon Ball, the one series that has reigned the hearts of every otaku since childhood. And a lifetime achievement franchise like Dragon Ball isn’t created easily. It involves a long process of creating, scrapping, editing, and more, and everything needs to be perfect before it is showcased to manga readers and anime watchers.
Dragon Ball has received several movies and series, most of which have received positive reviews. Akira Toriyama also kept his eyes on the movie production process. For Dragon Ball Super: Broly Toriyama wrote the story and screenplay as well as supervised the character designs.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is critically acclaimed for its stellar animation quality and fight scenes, as Gogeta vs. Broly is revered by fans as one of Dragon Ball‘s best fights ever! Even though some people may find the plot and Bardock’s characterization to be controversial, all Dragon Ball fans can agree that the film’s visuals, art style, and animation are some of the best in the industry.
This comes after the hype following the end of the Tournament of Power and director Tatsuya Nagamine giving up his role to Toei’s fan favorite animator and director Megumi Ishitani for Dragon Ball Super‘s final episodes. This was a game changer from the poor animation quality in Dragon Ball Super‘s initial episodes and fans expected better things to come in the future.

Vegeta is one of Dragon Ball‘s most popular and beloved characters and for good reason. He’s probably the only character that fans can relate to, given his struggle to fit into groups of people or in this case, the Dragon Team itself. In parties, fans will usually see him sitting in a corner and being absorbed in his own thoughts. The same applies to Piccolo as well.

But what differentiates the two is that Vegeta has his Princely pride that interferes with his growth. However, there’s one area where his pride does help him and that is in the department of techniques. In the 40-year time span of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise, the series has witnessed 21 Super Saiyan transformations. These Super Saiyan transformations have upgraded with time and have provided the Saiyans with the power that they needed to save their world and take down dangerous villains.

Each of these transformations has different power levels, and some of them are even unique to a particular Saiyan character. However, these Super Saiyan transformations are sometimes executed differently in the anime series than in the manga. The biggest example of this is the Super Saiyan God transformation.
The enticing godly power is one of the strongest Super Saiyan transformations that has been introduced in the series. And while it was greatly emphasized in the manga by Toriyama, Toei Animation did not give much preference to it. The anime series only introduced it for a limited amount of time,...

Goku and Vegeta are one of anime and manga’s most iconic rivals. They’re so inseparable that fans sometimes forget they have wives supporting them from the background. Vegeta is one of the most beloved characters in anime and manga, period! Some might even describe him as standing next to Roronoa Zoro as one of the best deuteragonists in the medium. But sadly, that’s not how the late creator, Akira Toriyama, initially felt about the guy.

Vegeta constantly talking about pride made Toriyama think, “This guy should be a one-off character.” The author wanted fans to resonate with Goku more and use Vegeta to counter him.
Admittedly, he did not expect the Saiyan Prince to become very popular when he created him. But as the story progressed, he grew to like the character, who ultimately became one of his favorites.
Even so, fans still wonder why Vegeta is always behind Goku.

The Dragon Ball franchise is full of interesting theories. Most of them often include alien species like Saiyans and Namekians. Some of them are pretty interesting, while others are shallow. Over the years, the Dragon Ball franchise has expanded to a multiverse level, and the scope of theorizing has also increased.
One of the recent fan theories is that one of the Earthlings is an alien. The mentioned Earthling is the daughter of Capsule Corporation’s owner, Bulma. While Bulma has always been portrayed as a human, her ability to create scientific tools easily led to the birth of the theory.

Bulma has been one of the pillars of the Dragon Ball franchise. It was her father’s wealth and scientific brilliance that helped the Z warriors find the Dragon Balls with ease and come out of perilous situations.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise is famous for designing some of the best antagonists ever. Due to those dynamic and potent villains, the duo of Son Goku and Vegeta could attain multiple Super Saiyan transformations. Out of all those villains, the one that spectacularly stands out is Frieza.
Frieza is always plotting something evil. Even his smile is as malicious as it can get. Having suffered multiple defeats at Goku’s hands, he hates him with all his might. Frieza’s design remains one of the most iconic works of Akira Toriyama. But his initial design was quite different. If the mangaka had decided to go with it, the fans would have made it an internet meme.

Known for their strength, violence, and pride, the Saiyans are probably the strongest race in the Dragon Ball universe. Their ability to increase their power and go berserk in times of crisis makes them adaptive and fierce to the strongest of attacks. Additionally, until a few years ago, it was believed that the Saiyans did not have many weaknesses in battle.

But all this changed when Dragon Ball Super: Broly came out. Broly was the epitome of the Saiyan race, and he was deemed a Legendary Super Saiyan who appeared every one thousand years. However, even the Legendary Super Saiyan was shown to be weak against electric shocks given to him by his father Paragus.
This led to fans believing that maybe the Saiyan race has some kind of vulnerability to electricity or electric shocks. But according to a Reddit post, the Saiyans,...

From the beginning, the main motive of Dragon Ball has always been the best possible portrayal of battles and fights between the vast array of characters that have been featured in the series. However, along with the fights, the series also carries a balanced proportion of humor, excitement, satisfaction, and happiness.

While these combinations of themes have kept Dragon Ball on top, Akira Toriyama, the creator of the series, once revealed that there was one Dragon Ball movie that he felt was too battle-focused and did not give much attention to other themes of the series. Bandai Namco will take character customization to a whole new level in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. They confirmed this in the latest details they shared on their official website. The best part of it that may strike the fans the most is that the feature isn’t simply cosmetic.
They are already talking about it, and calling the game peak again. Several games associated with the popular anime provide character customization. However, a lot of things remain nothing but cosmetic, rather than affecting the character in any way. It’s about to change with the Spike Chunsoft game.

Eye for details of the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero developers is best judged when the game arrives. But what we saw in the game’s trailers is enough to assume that a great deal of attention to detail was paid. Now it seems time to make some adjustments to focus on its performance.
Some fans noticed the details the developers are working on and one can’t really say if the graphics have been downgraded. Instead, some smart work goes in there as far as the changes are concerned. For what it’s worth, the community appears to be liking their work.

While Gogeta always has something up his sleeve that is usually a visual treat for Dragon Ball fans, his fighting style has a different kind of charisma. Potara fusion Vegito might be a better warrior, but Gogeta certainly is the cool one. Think of the former Chandler Bing and the latter Joey Tribbiani.
A recent conversation sparked by fans on social network Reddit had them drooling over a fighting technique that has been included in Sparking Zero. It first appeared in the 2018 film Dragon Ball Super: Broly, when the Legendary Super Saiyan went bananas and appeared almost unstoppable.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly has been one of the most successful movies of the Dragon Ball franchise, and for good reason. The renewed introduction of Broly caught the attention of many fans, and his character development was well-appreciated.
In fact, Akira Toriyama fleshed out the movie so much that the staff were in a major dilemma. Why? Because adapting it whole would have made a short series instead of a movie.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball series has been popular on the basic formula of featuring epic fights, lots of training, a gripping story, and some fan theories, that will get you hooked on the show. With rich storytelling and complex characters, featuring Saiyans and different life forms, often leading to interesting fan theories.
Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly
Toriyama-Sensei has given much thought to the creation of each of his characters, or else people would not have been addicted to the show for 38 long years. One of the mythic fan speculations of the show is the Genetic Mutation Theory revolves around the Saiyans. Ironically, this theory revolves not around Gohan but a new character, who made his way into the Dragon Ball canon in 2018. If the theory turns out to be true, then, he would surpass Kakarot and The Prince of All Saiyans with ease.

The release of the Dragon Ball Super manga changed a lot for the original Dragon Ball series by Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball Super not only introduced some new aspects in the narrative, but it also gave a huge makeover to a lot of things from its prequel series. One of the biggest changes the series made was with the character Broly/Broli.
Broly – Dragon Ball Super
Broly was possibly the strongest Saiyan in the Dragon Ball Z franchise, but the biggest problem with the character was that he was non-canon. His appearance in the Z timeline did not feature any significant changes in the story. However, Dragon Ball Super decided to make Broly canon, and after his introduction in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, he became an important figure in the story.

When it comes to the legacy of Dragon Ball, canon plays a more major role than its characters. This is because even though there are so many Dragon Ball films, none of them are considered canon in the series’ universe, except Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In the series’ long run, Broly has made quite a few appearances in the series, but he became an official part of the franchise when his standalone film was released.

But when we talk about Dragon Ball Gt, the only series that was aired after Dbz ended its run became a hated non-canon series of the franchise. However, the show featured one of the coolest Super Saiyan transformations. Yes, the much hated Dragon Ball Gt featured SSJ4 transformation unlocked by Kakarot and The Prince of All Saiyans; and this form could make a return in Dragon Ball Super!

The main character of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, Goku, has gone through multiple power-ups over the years, but the most interesting one among them was the fusion technique. It allowed Goku to fuse with his supporting character, Vegeta, who is also a powerful Saiyan, giving them a combination of their overall abilities and strengths.
Fusion Dance
Goku and Vegeta can perform two types of fusion, which result in two different beings with extraordinary strength. The first one is Vegito, and the second one is Gogeta. While Vegito made an appearance during the fight against Super Buu, Gogeta was a non-canonical character for a long time, but ultimately he was introduced in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
One of Toriyama’s interviews was published in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 6: Movies & TV Specials, where he talked about the introduction of fusion in the series and how it started as a joke but...

Created by Akira Toriyama, The Dragon Ball manga and anime series has overarched in its popularity, thanks to its well-written characters, gripping storylines, and a long list of antagonists that keeps the series interesting. The saga is now in its Superhero Arc, which focuses on Piccolo and our beloved Gohan-san, as Kakarot and Vegeta are off-planet focusing on getting stronger.

Toriyama-Sensei focused on presenting a more intrinsic, closed-loop story than the usual dynamic, and typical storyline that the franchise is usually known for. However, it looks like the mangaka artist’s vision had failed as larger-than-life visuals and a longer screen time of their favorite characters, that is Son-Goku and Vegeta were something they needed. To make things worse for Akira Toriyama, he noticed a grave slip-up in the title of the film which went unnoticed by everyone on the team.

There are so many directions that a Spy x Family could pursue. The ongoing anime has a deeply versatile story structure that allows it to indulge in diverse missions so that the series always feels fresh. Accordingly, it’s seriously surprising to see Code: White function as a covert cooking anime movie.
It’s the type of story that audiences would expect to see in a Food Wars! or Toriko feature film, but not Spy x Family. It’s also an ambitious approach to Spy x Family’s first movie that hedges its bets and is too cautious to disrupt the status quo. Code: White is still rich in classic Spy x Family elements, even if it amounts to an empty meal.

Illustrator of the Dragon Ball Super manga series Toyotarou took to his Twitter account to disclose a behind-the-scenes detail regarding the final panel of chapter 103 of the manga.
According to Toyotarou, his original draft of the chapter featured everyone simply turning their backs and departing. However, the last revision by the series’ creator, Akira Toriyama, introduced a significant change.
Original draft by Toyotarou
Toriyama requested that the character of Piccolo be shown offering a farewell to Pan’s kindergarten teacher.
However, Toyotarou shared that he only received the news of Toriyama’s passing after submitting the draft. Reflecting on this sequence of events, Toyotarou expressed that while he didn’t draw Piccolo with the intention of paying tribute to Toriyama, he couldn’t help but find additional layers of meaning in the final panel.
“After submitting the draft, I heard the news of the passing.
So, I didn’t draw Piccolo with that intention.
