The film was shot with a very small budget. In fact instead of shooting on a stage, the team disassembled director Mark Ross's living room. They moved out all of his furniture, and built a full prison set in his living room. For one entire month, Mark Ross could not use his living room! He had to explain to guests that he was shooting a movie on nights/weekends, and he volunteered his house. Producer Marshall Scarpulla designed the unique lightweight PVC frame for the set. Marshall and Mark assembled it in the living room.
