Jeff Zucker and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Imi on Thursday closed its £1.15 billion ($1.45 billion) acquisition of TV and film production powerhouse All3Media, the largest TV producer in the U.K., from Warner Bros. After nine years, Gordon Ramsay’s “Kitchen Nightmares” is back on Fox, with Season 8 seeing the chef once again giving struggling restaurants across New York and New Jersey much-needed makeovers.
While most of the unscripted series is about Ramsay dishing out tough love to restaurant owners and their staff in order to teach them how to run a successful business, each episode sees the eatery at hand also getting a physical transformation.
“The real problems are usually the leadership and what’s going on in the kitchen. Our renovations are there to elevate the places and help them fix it in that way,” production designer Brian Crabb told IndieWire, revealing that the execution of those changes — which are only seen by the owner and staff after completion — typically takes place in 18 hours.

Gordon Ramsay is to host his first ever game show after his production company scored a primetime commission from the BBC.
The British public broadcaster has ordered Bank Balance, a show described as greed versus strategy.
The Hell’s Kitchen star is fronting the show, which will see contestants compete in a high-stakes, high-pressure quiz, where they can literally build themselves a fortune or see it come crashing down in an instant.
The BBC won the rights after a competitive pitch and “a few weeks of intense negotiations”, according to Studio Ramsay. Tabloid reports earlier in the summer had suggested that the show would air on rival ITV. Filming will begin later this year.
The production company is currently in discussions with networks for a U.S. version of the show. You’d have thought that Fox might be participating in those discussions given the fact that Ramsay hosts and executive...

It appears that “America’s Got Talent” may be settling into a ratings groove.
The NBC talent show scored a 1.3 rating and 8.6 million total viewers, retaining 100% in both metrics from last episode and comfortably winning the Tuesday night ratings race. Its premiere from two weeks back scored a 1.5 rating and around 9.9 million viewers for comparison. Later on, “World of Dance” tangoed its way to a solid 0.8 rating and 4.5 million viewers, which also means it barely lost a step from last week.
Non-replays were few and far between across the other major networks on Tuesday, with CBS’s “Justice For All” special the best of the pack at a 0.4 rating and 3.2 million viewers. The special news report was the latest to examine the state of the country amid mass protests against police brutality following the death of George Floyd at the hand of Minnesota officers. “For Life,” the drama from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, aired what could be its final episode (pending ABC’s renewal decision) to strong numbers on Tuesday night, behind the special tribute to late sitcom icon Garry Marshall.
The season 1 finale of the ABC drama scored 0.5 rating among adults 18-49 and drew 2.9 million viewers, its largest tally since the premiere three months ago. The Disney-owned network “Happy Days of Garry Marshall” special preceded it with a 0.6 rating and 5.6 million viewers.
NBC comfortably won the night overall thanks to a results episode “The Voice” which came in at a 0.9 and 7 million total viewers, roughly even on the performance episode from the night before. The season 3 finale of “Ellen’s Game of Games” came in even week-to-week at a 0.8 and 4.1 million viewers. NBC’s “Hollywood Game Night” special, hosted by Jane Lynch, scored a 0.6 and 2.7 million pairs of eyeballs.

Happy days were (kind of) here again for ABC last night, when the network’s “Happy Days of Garry Marshall” special drew 5.6 million total viewers.
Unfortunately, that was not enough to win Tuesday in total viewers. The two-hour program’s 0.6 rating/3 share among adults 18-49 was also too light for ABC to compete in the key demo.
Among adults 18-49, there was a primetime logjam last night.

NBC was first in ratings with a 0.8 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and third in total viewers with an average of 4.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Voice” at 8 p.m. posted a 0.9/5 and 7 million viewers. The “Ellen’s Game of Games” season finale at 9 drew a 0.8/4 and 4.1 million viewers. At 10, a special “Social Distancing Edition” of “Hollywood Game Night” got a 0.6/3 and 2.7 million viewers.

Update: The latest figures from Nielsen show an even greater audience for CBS News’ coverage of the Democratic debate than the early numbers released on Wednesday morning.
An average of 15.3 million viewers watched the South Carolina debate on CBS, according to Nielsen. The figure also includes viewers of a simulcast on Bet and Bet Her.
CBS drew 14.8 million viewers, with about 556,000 watching the Bet simulcasts. The network said that it was the largest audience for a single-network broadcasting a debate this cycle.
For its coverage of the Las Vegas debate last week, NBC drew 12.1 million viewers and MSNBC drew 7.7 million viewers. But their combined viewership of almost 20 million set a record for a Democratic primary matchup.
In the spin-heavy world of the network news ratings race, NBC argued that its audience would have been larger had viewers not had the option of also watching it on their news network.
