T.J. Miller wants to return to the Deadpool franchise, and now has a very different opinion of star Ryan Reynolds after previously calling him an "insecure dude" and vowing that he would "not work with him again."
Miller played Weasel in the first two movies, but allegations of sexual assault back in 2017 along with accusations of bullying one of his co-stars on the Silicon Valley TV series pretty much derailed his career.
"As the character, he was, like, horrifically mean to me. But to me. As if I'm Weasel," Miller said of his co-star in a 2022 interview. "He was like, 'You know what's great about you, Weasel? You're not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it's funny and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.'"
It seems Miller and Reynolds may have buried the hatchet, and the former is eager to be...

Lucasfilm didn't have much to offer Mando fans at D23 in Brasil, but fans remained optimistic, as the show's all-important 5th anniversary was right around the corner.
Unfortunately, Star Wars' official accounts on Twitter and other social media sites maintained an eerie silence on Mando's birthday, which isn't what fans expected. This is a new low for Lucasfilm, with a history of missing the mark on big days, including May the Fourth. They've often failed to mark big occasions and deliver new glimpses at upcoming projects when fans expect them to. In this case, their silence is not only upsetting and shocking, but it's unsettling.
Some fans have begun to suspect a boycott of the show from Lucasfilm, and others took to social media to remind the Star Wars Official account about the anniversary. One fan tweeted, "Hey, - The Mandalorian's 5th anniversary is today. How about showing some love...

Ben Affleck has been vocal about his love of Emmy-winning series “Succession,” but now the Oscar-winning writer/director/actor is revealing his own take on how the show could have ended.
Affleck said during CNBC’s Delivering Alpha 2024 alongside RedBird Capital Partners founder Gerry Cardinale that AI does have some benefit, including making storytelling more accessible to fans. Affleck used the series finale of the hit HBO show as an example.
“AI will allow you to ask for your own episode of ‘Succession’ where you could say, ‘I’ll pay you $30 and can you make me a 45-minute episode where like Kendall gets the company and runs off and has an affair with Stewy?’ and it’ll do it,” Affleck said. “And it will be a little janky and a little weird but it will know the sass and those actors and it will remix it in effect. That’s the value long-term.

Ryan Reynolds has taken to Instagram to share another deleted scene from Deadpool and Wolverine, and it's basically a montage of the Merc With a Mouth doing what he does best: annoying the sh*it out of Logan.
The sequence would have taken place after Wade and Wolvie leave the diner (this is where those "piggyback" set photos that did the rounds online during filming originated), and finds Deadpool yammering on about a number of subjects, including Logan's failed relationship with Jean Grey, and the God of Thunder.
Wilson brings up the "why was Thor crying" scene from earlier in the movie, admiring how handsome the Mighty Avenger is up close... while also making fun of his "cheap hair extensions."
It's a fun scene, but doesn't really add anything to the plot, so it's easy enough to understand why Reynolds and director Shawn Levy decided not to include it.

Playing Donald Trump’s mentor Roy Cohn in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice is not the first time Jeremy Strong has tackled recent American history. Before the actor became synonymous with Kendall Roy in Succession, he played parts in The Big Short, Selma and Parkland. While the actor feels a slight discomfort discussing acting choices for a film whose main subject “poses such a clear and present danger to you and I,” Strong is no less proud of the work. “I am happy with how it turned out and happy that I went for it,” he says. “I almost didn’t.”
Deadline: What made you run toward this role and this film?
Jeremy Strong: You run toward it, because it’s so dangerous. Because it’s been done before brilliantly. It was done by Al Pacino [in Angels in America] in a really definitive way, that had such an impact on me.

Did you know that part of the first movie in the "Harry Potter" film franchise ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," as it's known in the U.S.) is different depending on which country you live in? If you didn't, you're not alone — "Harry Potter" fans are shocked that they never noticed.
As People Magazine reported, a fan account on Instagram — which, it should be said, bears the pretty official-looking title @harrypotter — posted a clip from the first "Harry Potter" film showing Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), and Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) discussing the mysterious object lurking underneath a guarded trap door at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the version released in the United Kingdom, Hermione calls it the "Philosopher's Stone," but in the American one, she calls it the "Sorcerer's Stone."

There was a time, not all that long ago when the name HBO was synonymous with top-tier television.
Some of our readers might remember the iconic slogan from the cable giant’s heyday that summed up its unique approach to programming:
“It’s not; it’s HBO,” we were told. And as laughably pompous as that may sound in retrospect, at the time, it rang surprisingly true.
(Photograph by Macall Polay/HBO)
If one were to compose a comprehensive history of the past 25 years in American television, it would be difficult not to mention HBO on every other page.
When Sex and the City became an overnight cultural phenomenon in the summer of 1998, industry analysts likely regarded it as a fluke — a one-off instance in which a premium cable channel best known as a secondary market for theatrical movies stumbled onto success with an original series.
However, what HBO executives...

HBO’s hit horror series “The Last of Us“ returns for Season 2 next year, and Max has revealed new details that give us a better idea on when to expect the new season.
HBO and Max Content CEO and Chairman Casey Bloys announced during a 2025 programming slate presentation to journalists, via IGN, that “The Last of Us” season 2 will arrive in Spring 2025.
The announcement coincides with a video running down Max’s lineup in 2025, giving small glimpses of the upcoming season. It doesn’t reveal much, but it does highlight a rift between Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) over his choice to save her life at the end of season one. It also gives a first look at Catherine O’Hara, guest starring in “The Last of Us” Season 2 alongside Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, the very same character he voiced in The Last of Us Part II video game.

HBO is currently working on getting a new Harry Potter TV show off the ground. They're casting young actors to play Harry, Ron and Hermione and may be trying to woo veteran English actor Mark Rylance to play Dumbledore. They want to adapt all seven of author J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books with a level of detail that the Harry Potter movies couldn't squeeze in.
This means at least seven seasons of the show, which could keep fans occupied for a long while. Not that we'll be seeing actual episodes anytime soon. Speaking to reporters, HBO executive Casey Blows speculated that we wouldn't be watching the series until the start of 2027, but even that's just a guess; "don’t hold me to any of that,” he added, per Indiewire. They have a lot of work ahead of them before they can be sure about a release date.

“Harry Potter” author Jk Rowling remains “fairly involved” in the development of HBO’s planned series adaptations of her books, according to HBO CEO Casey Bloys. But he attests that her influence “hasn’t affected” the overall interest in the creative community wanting to bring “Harry Potter” to the small screen.
Bloys was asked specifically about Rowling’s continued controversial and often transphobic statements regarding transgender individuals on X compared to how much she’s posted about Potter. Bloys in response said she’s “been fairly involved in the process of selecting the writer and director,” and that “I imagine she’ll have opinions on casting,” but her involvement hasn’t deterred anyone from being willing to participate in the show.

Though it sounds like things are far from set in stone, Variety is hearing that Warner Bros. Television has an actor in mind to play the key role of Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series.
According to the trade, Mark Rylance is "at the top of the casting wishlist," and is now "in the mix" to play the fan-favorite Hogwarts headmaster. No offer has been made, but the studio has "reached out to gauge interest and availability."
One HBO rep responded to Variety's enquiry: “We appreciate that such a high profile series will draw a lot of rumor and speculation. As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalize deals.”
Dumbledore was previously played by late Irish acting legends Richard Harris and Michael Gambon, with Jude Law portraying a younger take on the character in the Fantastic Beasts movies.

Accio Harry Potter news! Almost a year and a half has passed since we first learned that a new Harry Potter TV show is headed our way, and so far information on the upcoming HBO show hasn't exactly been forthcoming. We know that Succession's Mark Mylod is set to direct the series with Francesca Gardiner (His Dark Materials) attached to write, and that an open casting call for the Golden Trio — Harry, Ron, and Hermione — went live back in September, but otherwise it's seemed almost as if an invisibility cloak has been draped over plans for the re-adaptation. Now however, per Variety's reporting, we're getting our first major bit of prospective casting news — and it's concerning none other than Hogwarts' headmaster and one of Harry Potter's greatest characters, Albus Dumbledore.

For Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone Season 5B is a slap in the face. Despite his severe hatred toward the f*ck-you-car-crash storyline, he was forced to end the arc of his main protagonist on whose back Sheridan built an entire empire. For 7 years, this neo-Western series promised the audience a certain endgame, a peak where the mercurial battle between the father and the son will decimate everything in its path.

But now, the pent-up anticipation, the waiting, and the wondering – all of it diffuses like a rubber balloon. The scheming and the planning pan out into sweet nothing as Jaime Dutton finally succeeds – behind the scenes, might I add – to do the one thing that hundreds before him have failed to do: kill John Dutton.

On Sunday night, during the finale of “The Penguin,” Max released one of those biannual teasers previewing the service’s upcoming programming that serves as a periodic reminder that HBO is the best in the business. Max’s 2025 is packed with a lot of exciting new and returning shows, and the spot shows off new footage from many of them, from the prequel series “It: Welcome to Derry” to Emmy-winner “Hacks” Season 4.
Among the returning series previewed in the spot, there are first looks at “Hacks” Season 4, featuring Deborah (Jean Smart) getting in Ava’s (Hannah Einbinder) face and sarcastically calling her a “big, brave girl,” to which Ava coolly replies “I guess I am;” “The White Lotus” Season 3, which features Walton Goggins admiring a huge gold Buddha statue and the return of Natasha Rothwell’s Season 1 character Belinda; and “The Righteous Gemstones” Season 4, which features John Goodman with a long,...

Arguments are often made by the true auteur artists working today that animation does not constitute a genre in itself, but simply a medium in which to tell stories; western animation too often spreads the idea that animation is best used to help younger audiences reckon with more existentialist ideas that may have been harder to contemplate in live-action. If there’s any crux to that argument that is true, it is that animation does often offer a space for healing, but that doesn’t mean it’s exclusively for children. In fact, the lack of traditional parameters regarding what can be accomplished visually allows animation to reach a potentially much wider audience by discussing a plethora of issues relating to different stages of life.
Adam Elliot’s latest stop-motion animated feature, “Memoir of a Snail,” achieves this ambition, and in no small part because it was loosely inspired by his own life.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details for the Season 5 return of Yellowstone on Sunday.
Written as usual by Taylor Sheridan, the long-awaited final half of Yellowstone’s fifth season opened Sunday with Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) pulling up to the governor’s mansion to see all hell has broken loose with emergency vehicles flashing everywhere. It isn’t much suspense that her beloved father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), lay dead inside, before he was to face an impeachment tribunal set up by his son Jamie (Wes Bentley), the Montana attorney general.
She’s held outside by police, but brother Kayce (Luke Grimes) pulls up, flashes a badge and tells the lawman to piss off. And their worst nightmare is revealed. We don’t see John Dutton’s face, but the body is frail and bluing, the wall in the bathroom is painted with blood from a single gunshot to the head.

It’s business as usual on this week’s very normal episode of “Yellowstone” — just kidding, things are totally wild! Without Costner, patriarch John Dutton has to hit the dusty trail somehow. What will happen to him? Will there be a time jump? Who else will Beth (Kelly Reilly) hit in the face with a brick? Check out all the big moments and burning questions Variety had about the first episode of the back half of Season 5.
This calm before the storm — a quiet moment on the range with Lloyd (Forrie J. Smith) — is making me anxious about what is about to go down.

Channing Tatum was given the opportunity to take on the role of Gambit in Deadpool and Wolverine, after originally missing out on playing the heroic mutant when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox's assets and brought the studio's X-Men franchise to an end.
Tatum made his MCU debut as Remy LeBeau in the Void, joining Elektra, Blade, and X-23 as members of the Resistance Wade Wilson and Logan encountered when they were stranded by Mr. Paradox.
A recently-released deleted scene from the movie strongly hinted that Gambit will be making his way to Earth-616 via a "Marvel Sparkle Circle" at some point, but we still don't know for sure if Tatum will get to reprise the role.
While chatting to Entertainment Weekly’s Awardist podcast, co-star Ryan Reynolds said he didn't know of any solid plans for Gambit's return, but did mention that the studio is very high on Tatum's take on the Ragin' Cajun.

James Shani bet big on Ali Abbasi’s buzzy Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice. After a stint as a talent manager at Issa Rae’s Hoorae Media, the 36-year-old producer launched his own indie production and distribution company, Rich Spirit, earlier this year, raising a pool of capital for an initial three-film slate of edgy international titles with positive social messages. But instead of spreading his bets, Shani opted to spend the bulk of his capital by stepping up from the role of minority investor to full co-distributor of The Apprentice alongside Briarcliff Entertainment when he fully acquired the movie after it became mired in a lengthy dispute over final cut with its original backer, Kinematics.
In North America, The Apprentice opened below expectations in October with $1.6 million in its first weekend, but Shani says he still very much believes his bet was the best choice for his company’s strategic future.

Before cameras even started rolling on Deadpool and Wolverine, there were rumors that Nicolas Cage was set to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider, and we'd later learn that there were indeed early plans to include a version of the character via some officially-released concept art.

Former U.K. prime minister Boris Johnson was “fired” from Channel 4‘s overnight election coverage after going on and on about his book, according to the program’s co-host.

Bruce Springsteen paid a visit to Jeremy Allen White — who was in character as ’80s-era Springsteen — on the set of upcoming biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere.”
The two were photographed in Bayonne, N.J. on Monday as Allen White and director Scott Cooper filmed a scene at what looks like a car dealership parking lot. Even though the final season of Succession earned him his first Golden Globe, Kieran Culkin hasn’t really gotten to enjoy his success.
The actor recently revealed he still hasn’t watched the series finale of the HBO show, which wrapped up last year after four seasons. He was filming his latest movie, A Real Pain with Jesse Eisenberg, in Poland when the finale aired.
“I’ve heard!” he said about the episode’s great reviews on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “I was there. I read the script, I know what happens—or at least I think I do. It wasn’t intentional at first, but I guess it sort of is now.”
Culkin explained, “I was in Poland filming when the last three episodes aired, and I couldn’t log into my Max account. My wife went on Instagram and asked if anyone could share their login...

Kieran Culkin, known for his role as Roman Roy in the hit HBO series “Succession,” revealed that unusual circumstances have prevented him from watching the Season 4 finale. Culkin earned both Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his supporting role in the final season but has not seen its conclusion.
While filming another project abroad during the airing of the finale episodes, Culkin experienced technical issues accessing the series through streaming. “I couldn’t log into my Max account,” he explained. With help from his wife on social media, fans offered their own login credentials so Culkin could watch episodes 8 and 9.
However, a subsequent hotel change without smart TV access stopped his viewing. Culkin said “Before the last one I moved to a different hotel that didn’t have a smart TV, so I just couldn’t watch it then.” Upon returning home and taking time off, Culkin felt he had...
