The 10th edition of the Jagran Film Festival (Jff) will include a showcase of actor and producer Anil Kapoor in the Retrospective of Indian Cinema section by screening his best known and award-winning films.

"I am honoured that Jff has chosen to screen my films in the Retrospective of Indian Cinema section. I had attended the 5th edition of the festival and am looking forward to this year's edition of the festival," Anil said in a statement.

The film gala begins in Delhi on July 18 and will travel through Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut, Dehradun, Hisar, Ludhiana, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Gorakhpur, Raipur, Indore and Bhopal. The festival will culminate on September 29 in Mumbai.

Actor Aparshakti Khurana is excited to be the face of the pop single "Tere do naina", composed by Gourov-Roshin and sung by Ankit Tiwari.

"I am thrilled to be the face of the song that is melodic and reminds us of our loved one," Aparshakti said in a statement.

Actor Anil Kapoor is happy with the successful run of his film Total Dhamaal at the box office, and says getting commercial success is important. "Any and all success is important. It also means that the film has managed to entertain huge numbers of people. That's more gratifying to me me (is commercial success)," Anil told Ians. The actor, who started the year on a hit note with Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, explained his process of finalising a project.

"If I feel I can give my whole heart to the project, then I go with it," he said.?

Anil is thrilled about Total Dhamaal earning over Rs 150 crore in India. Helmed by Indra Kumar, the film is the third instalment of the successful franchise Dhamaal, which originally starred Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi and Riteish Deshmukh alongside Sanjay Dutt.?

Veteran actor Anil Kapoor says actor Arshad Warsi is an integral part of the upcoming film Pagalpanti. Anil on Wednesday evening took to Twitter, where he said that Arshad is a joy to work with. "You are an integral part of our Pagalpanti Arshad Warsi! Always a joy to work with! A lot of craziness lies ahead! Lots of love," Anil wrote.? Which songs have you choreographed in Total Dhamaal?

I have shot 2 songs for the film. One is called 'Paisa yeh paisa' and other one is called 'Speaker Phat Jaaye'. On my 1st meeting when I got to know with 8 actors in a song I was as happy as I was stressed about it. I couldn't figure out where to begin with. It was a challenging song and I and my team had to give our all to see to it that nothing goes wrong in d preplanning. But it...

Actor Anil Kapoor, a part of the Hindi film industry for almost four decades, says his mission is to explore more of what he can do and how to improve it. Anil has shown versatility in the myriad genres, like drama, action, romance, comedy and socio-drama. He has even featured in Hollywood films, including Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Slumdog Millionaire. Asked if there is anything else he aspires to do, Anil told Ians over e-mail from London: "I aspire to do better, to be better. The film industry, which plays a prominent role in both India and Pakistan, has felt the immediate impact of warlike tensions being ratcheted up between the South Asian neighbors and rivals.

The Pakistan Film Exhibitors Association says it is boycotting Indian content, and that no Indian film will be released in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has asked Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to act against Indian-made advertisements.

The two countries have repeatedly been to war over the disputed province of Kashmir, since the two countries gained their independence in 1947. Tensions have flared in recent days after a squadron of Indian warplanes crossed the so-called “Line of Control” between the two countries in the early hours of Tuesday, and bombed what India claims was a training camp for terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad.

The film has netted a superb 60 crore plus, the best of 2019, during its opening weekend from India and has already surpassed the total net collection of (45 crore) of last Dhamaal series franchise and is on way to a hit status, if not more.

British audiences embraced Stan & Ollie, not least because the charming biopic of comic duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy is set in the UK, while Us moviegoers were far less enthused.

Australians’ sentiments towards the comedic drama starring Steve Coogan and John C Reilly seem somewhere in the middle, judging by its fourth-ranked opening last weekend.

Fox’s Alita: Battle Angel easily retained top spot in its second weekend but is not performing at the level here or internationally which the studio needs to recoup the $US170 million production budget and hefty marketing costs.

Mindblowing Films’ Bollywood adventure comedy Total Dhamaal began brightly but there were minimal contributions from the other openers including Umbrella’s Lords of Chaos and Madman Entertainment’s Vox Lux.

Umbrella launched Nicholas Wrathall’s feature documentary Undermined: Tales From The Kimberley on limited sessions at eight cinemas, fetching a modest $19,000 including previews.

“Run the Race,” a faith-based film which has former NFL quarterback and outspoken Christian Tim Tebow attached as executive producer, scored an impressive box office debut on an otherwise quiet Oscar weekend.

Released by Roadside Attractions on 853 screens, “Run the Race” grossed $2.27 million for a per-screen average of $2,664 and the No. 10 spot on the box office charts.

For comparison, the last faith-based film that opened with a similar screen count was Pure Flix’s “Indivisible,” which opened to $1.5 million from 830 screens last October with a PSA of $1,811.

The best per-theater average specialty debut goes to Oscilloscope’s Wrestle, which had an exclusive New York bow for $7,100. Incidentally, the company’s second weekend holdover, Catvideofest 2019, ranked up there in a slow Awards weekend, grossing $12,250 in two theaters for a $6,125 PTA.

The widest specialty debut this weekend is Roadside Attractions’ faith-family drama Run The Race, which had the weekend’s highest gross at over $2.27M. The title by Chris Dowling averaged $2,664. Bollywood comedy Total Dhamaal from Fip played 202 North American theaters, taking in $835,000 for a $4,135 PTA. And The Iron Orchard by newcomer Ty Roberts skirted the New York/L.A. template, opting to open closer to its roots in eight north Texas locations, grossing $49,250 for a $6,156 average.

Is there any polite way of saying this? Total Dhamaal is the worst most undesirable brand of filmmaking obtainable to mankind. Crass, corny, lowbrow and utterly non-intellectualized, it boils down to watching a bizarre burlesque of line and situations borrowed from lowbrow Gujarati theatre.

This is the kind of comedy that attempts to make us laugh at the exploitative and cheesy treatment of the comic genre by a bunch of actors and technicians who ought to know better, if for no other reason, then only because they have had years of experience.
