Disney has suspended sales of its Magic Key annual pass program and is offering California residents a new three-day, one-park-per-day ticket this summer for Disneyland and California Adventure, park officials said today.
When the park rolled out the Magic Key program last August, it was meant to signal, according to a Disneyland announcement, that “you belong to the community of core Disneyland fans who all share a passion and love for the parks.”
There are four tiers of Magic Key passes ranging in cost from 399 to 1,399 per year. The 1,399 Dream Keys and the 949 Believe Keys sold out late last year, and as of Tuesday the 649 Enchant Keys and 399 Imagine Keys were no longer available.
Disney officials said the program offered more choices and flexibility, with guests required to make reservations for Disneyland and California Adventure, but some fans believe Disney falsely advertised the highest tier of their program which projected “no blockout dates.

Joe Dante's "Gremlins" is one of the greatest holiday horror films in history and is partially responsible for the creation of the PG-13 rating. "Gremlins 2: A New Batch" on the other hand, is a chaotic nightmare of fun and absurdity with cartoon-comedy, slapstick violence, and parodies of "Rambo," "The Wizard of Oz," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Marathon Man," "Of Mice and Men," Donald Trump, and even "Gremlins" itself. The movie is so absurd that one of the best "Key and Peele" sketches in the show's history is about the brainstorming session that led to "Gremlins 2." I'm a staunch defender of this ridiculous film, because...

When “King Richard” star Aunjanue Ellis and “The Harder They Fall’s” Regina King paired off for Variety‘s Actors on Actors, presented by Amazon, Ellis asked King to dish on one of her favorite performances from her fellow actor — Marcee Tidwell in 1996’s “Jerry Maguire.”
“You’re taking me back to a long time ago. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since that film,” King told Ellis.
The film debuted on Dec. 13, 1996, just over 25 years ago, opening at No. 1 at the box office and earning $273 million over its run. Marcee is the no-nonsense wife of Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.), the star client of sports agent Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise). [Technically, after Jerry’s in-office meltdown at the top of the film, Rod is his only client, but an important one regardless.]
“Jerry Maguire” went on to be nominated for five Oscars, including best picture, with Gooding taking home the best supporting actor trophy. In 2019, King earned an Oscar of her own, winning the best supporting actress prize for “If Beale Street Could Talk,...

Disneyland on Wednesday will officially unveil its new Disney Genie service, a sort of digital concierge that replaces the popular Fastpass system that helped visitors avoid lengthy lines at many of the park’s big-ticket attractions.
Disney Genie swill offer forecasts of wait times for various attractions at the theme park, much like the previous iteration of the Disneyland app. Disneyland officials say it is much like a navigation app on smart phones that helps motorists avoid traffic jams. It also provides recommendations based on user preferences.
The basic functionality, which also allows people to make dining reservations or place mobile food orders, is free.
However, for an extra $20 per park ticket, visitors can get the Genie+ service, which adds access to the “Lightning Lane” for one attraction at a time. The service, similar to Fastpass, will be available for popular rides such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Haunted Mansion or the newly reopened,...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio today announced a major vaccine mandate expansion including the first in the nation for private-sector workers.
In an announcement today, the outgoing de Blasio said the mandate, which will take effect on Dec. 27, will apply to roughly 184,000 businesses.
His “Key to NYC” program previously required vaccines for workers and customers at indoor dining, fitness, entertainment and performance venues. Starting December 14, that will be expanded to require children aged 5-11 to show proof of one vaccination dose for those venues. And as of Dec. 27, New Yorkers aged 12 and older will be required to show proof of two vaccine doses, instead of one (except for those who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.)
Also, five-to-11-year-old children will be required to get vaccinated to participate in “high risk” extracurricular activities including sports, band, orchestra, and dance. The requirement for the initial vaccine dose will...

‘The Harder They Fall’ Tops Nielsen U.S. Streaming Chart As Netflix Has Strong Overall Movie Showing
Netflix had a good week at the virtual box office from November 1 to 7, taking the overall streaming crown with marquee feature film The Harder They Fall.
Nielsen said the film racked up almost 1.2 billion minutes of streaming views. That was well ahead of any other series or film, as two-time champ You faded to the No. 2 spot at 994 million minutes of viewing and other shows also lost steam.
Two other original films performed well for Netflix. Army of Thieves, a prequel to Zack Snyder’s zombie action outing Army of the Dead, collected 456 million viewing minutes. Love Hard, a dating comedy starring Nina Dobrev, scooped up 455 million. Along with Harder, they helped Netflix take the top three spots on Nielsen’s movie-centric chart.
Nielsen measures only viewing via a TV set, leaving aside mobile, delivering numbers from Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV+, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video after a month’s delay.

This mini-series so far has been about as Missy as it’s possible to get without it being an actual episode of the TV show. Houser has up to now perfectly nailed the mannerisms, banter, and cockiness f the character, not to mention the borderline craziness she always seems to be straddling. Or was, of course, as Missy is now sadly a prior incarnation of The Master. Time, however, is luckily a very fluid thing, so no previous incarnations of The Doctor or The Master are ever truly gone, they are still running around somewhere in the distant past or the distant future.
The distant future was of course where this particular tale began, as Missy attempted to break her previous self out of Stormcage prison, all the while pretending to be a future incarnation of The Doctor.

The only thing that comes and goes faster than the waves in Siesta Key are minor characters. After an extended break due to the coronavirus pandemic, MTV's reality hit returns for its fourth season on Wednesday, but they'll be in a new location. Our favorite residents from the beachside Florida town—including Chloe Trautman, Brandon Gomes, Juliette Porter, Kelsey Owens, Amanda Miller and Madisson Hausburg—filmed the new episodes over the course of a month on Palm Island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The quarantined set limited the amount of new faces that could appear, which, as any fan knows, is a staple of Siesta Key, a show that has seen its fair share of side...

This article contains WandaVision spoilers.
We’re a third of the way through WandaVision and a lot of the show has been establishing the setting via era-spanning sitcom stories while occasionally taking a break to show cracks in the façade. Something is definitely wrong in Westview, but while we can see the errors like comparing two pages in Highlights, we don’t have the full picture yet.
There are many theories out there already. Some completely outlandish, others far less so. As we wait for the other six episodes to hit, I want to focus on the moments in the initial three where reality is questioned. The times when “the real world” starts to seep into the fiction within the fiction. What are these scenes and what do they really tell us?

This comes just over six months after she was named head writer on the NBC late-night show and follows a busy week for the Jimmy Fallon-hosted show, which earlier this week saw showrunner Gavin Purcell leave, replaced by Jamie Granet-Bederman, and Fallon himself extend his contract with the network.

Johnny Nash, the angel-voiced reggae-pop singer-songwriter who had U.S. hits with “I Can See Clearly Now,” “Stir It Up” and “Hold Me Tight,” died Tuesday at his home in Houston. He was 80. No cause of death was revealed.
Nash scored a pop smash in 1972 with his self-penned “I Can See Clearly Now,” which spent a month at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. He followed up that success with a cover of reggae legend Bob Marley’s “Stir It Up” that just missed the top 10. Nash’s first big pop hit was “Hold Me Tight,” which reached No. 5 in 1968.
