Based on the Molière award-winning play, already by Andréa Bescond and Eric Métayer, itself already based on Bescond's own life, albeit with character names changed, the film detaches itself from the construction of the show, which Bescond performed alone on stage, to adopt different angles and to explore the part of responsibility and guilt of each character.
The voice of the insurance advertisement filmed by Odette is that of Jacques Frantz. Frantz and Eric Métayer, co-director, co-screenwriter and co-star of the film, had both voiced the main roles in the French dub of Monsters, Inc. (2001).
