- TriviaA top model and sex symbol in the 70's/80's, Bruna Lombardi surprised everybody by writing an acclaimed book, "No ritmo dessa festa" and later acting as a woman disguised as a man, in the epic TV series based on 1956 iconic literary romance "Grande Sertäo Veredas" by Guimarães Rosa. Her character Diadorim was a soldier of the rebel band that acted in the dephts of northeast Brazil, who falls in love with the leader Riobaldo, unbeknownst that he is attracted to a woman. With that role she was able to deconstruct her image and reinvent herself as a respected actress and writer.
Featured review
It's never a good combination when the lead actor in a series is also the creator and writer. One can be assured that whatever is produced will be rubbish. This series from Brazil proves that point. There is a lot of hand held camera technique with blurred images, half body shots etc. The camera work leaves you nauseous and you feel seasick just watching the series. I gave up after the first episode as the story was buried in a scenes with blurred bodies and a mountain of overacting! A waste of time.
