The Power franchise is showing no signs of slowing down at Starz.

The premium cabler on Thursday announced its full cast for Power Book IV: Force, which will bring back Joseph Sikora as Tommy.

Isaac Keys, Lili Simmons, Gabrielle Ryan, Shane Harper, Kris D. Lofton, Anthony Fleming III, Lucien Cambric, and Tommy Flanagan.

Courtney A. Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will executive produce alongside Mark Canton, and series creator and showrunner Robert Munic.

Power Book IV: Force will air on Starz in the U.S. and Canada and on its international streaming platform Starzplay across Europe, Latin America, and Japan.

The fourth series in the franchise centers on fan-favorite character Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good.

Exclusive: Crackle’s financial-makeover hit Going from Broke is overhauling production methods for its upcoming second season in an effort to depict the impact of Covid-19.

The Ashton Kutcher-produced show, whose debut season drew more than 17 million views to become the streaming service’s biggest original series, features college students and graduates grappling with debt. Student debt now affects some 44 million borrowers with $1.7 trillion in outstanding loans, a burden that has exponentially increased for many Americans during Covid-19.

Season 1 premiered in October 2019, and by the time work began on a new season, the coronavirus pandemic had shut down production in much of the world. Even once shooting was allowed to resume, the producers of Broke felt the show’s mission compelled it to reflect the financial impact of the pandemic. That would mean a different approach.

The new season, produced by Flicker Filmworks, is set to begin streaming in March.

The upcoming Amazon series “Outer Range” has rounded out its main cast.

Lewis Pullman, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, and Isabel Arraiza have all been cast in the series, Variety has learned. They join previously announced cast members Josh Brolin, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Tom Pelphrey, and Imogen Poots.

“Outer Range” centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness.

Pullman is set to take on the role of Rhett Abbott, the family’s younger, more rebellious son. He never thought much past his ambition to become a championship bull rider — until a shocking event, and a girl just returned to town, push him to reconsider everything he thought he knew.

Hulu is hungry for more Taste the Nation: The streamer has renewed the culinary travel series, hosted and executive-produced by Padma Lakshmi, for Season 2.

The show explores “the rich and diverse food culture of various immigrant groups, seeking out the people who have so heavily shaped what American food is today,” per the official description. “From indigenous communities to recent immigrant arrivals, Padma breaks bread with Americans across the nation to uncover the roots and relationship between our food, our humanity and our history — ultimately revealing stories that challenge notions of identity, belonging, and what it means to be American.

Exclusive: Kwame Patterson is set to play the title role and Arlen Escarpeta (The Oath) also is set as a series regular in the second season of OWN’s acclaimed Peabody-winning drama series David Makes Man. Patterson has been tapped to portray the title character, the adult version of David, and Escarpeta will play his brother Jg, in the series which hails from Oscar winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight) and Warner Horizon Scripted Television. They join returning series regulars Akili McDowell, Alana Arenas, Travis Coles and Cayden K. Williams for season two.

Documentary film editor Jonathan Oppenheim died July 16 in New York City, Sundance Institute confirmed to Variety. He was 67 and had been battling brain cancer .

“Jonathan began his life in the arts as a painter which informed his sensibility in film,” his wife, Josie Oppenheim, wrote in a statement. “He was a talented and highly original painter but documentary film was his chosen medium. The collaborative dynamic while not always peaceful was one aspect of the work that Jonathan loved.”

Oppenheim was best known for editing “Paris is Burning” (1990) and Oscar nominee “Children Underground” (2001). He also edited and co-produced “The Oath” (2010), the Emmy-nominated film in Laura Poitras’ post 9/11 trilogy.

Born to TV producer David Oppenheim and actress Judy Holliday in 1952, he began his editing career with the seminal “Paris is Burning,” directed by Jennie Livingston. He devoted his career to documentary storytelling and edited over 24 films, including the Oscar-nominated films “Streetwise...

Jonathan Oppenheim, an editor on classic documentary films such as 199o’s “Paris Is Burning,” has died at age 67.

Oppenehim died of brain cancer in New York City on July 16, according to the Sundance Institute, where he had long served as a fellow and adviser. No cause of death was given.

Oppenheim edited and co-produced the second film in director Laura Poitras’ post-9/11 trilogy, “The Oath,” which was a psychological portrait of Osama bin Laden’s former bodyguard. He won a Peabody Award for the 1987 film “Arguing the World,” about four Jewish intellectuals educated at New York City College in the 1930s who each became prominent figures with starkly different viewpoints.

Among his more notable editing credits are 2001’s “Children Underground,” 2002’s “Sister Helen,” about a nun working with prisoners on death row, 2013’s “Andre Gregory: Before and After Dinner,” about the actor who appears in Louis Malle’s acclaimed 1981 film “My Dinner With Andre.

Todd Garner is producing the project under his Broken Road Productions label, which produced the recently released family comedy Playing with Fire, which starred Cena.

The comedian's Netflix special Black Mitzvah is dropping on Dec. 3, and from the looks of the trailer, we'll be learning a lot. Besides Tmp, the two have previously worked together on Central Intelligence, which they co-wrote, The Oath, which was helmed by Barinholtz, and the comedy Blockers.

Viacom-owned British broadcaster Channel 5 has picked up the UK rights to Sony Pictures Television’s Crackle drama The Oath.

The network will launch the 50 Cent-exec produced drama on its digital service My5 as part of a strategy of bolstering the VOD platform with first-run exclusives.

The Oath, which has been renewed for a second season by Crackle, was created by Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-0) and explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend. It sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join—only a select few make the cut—but once inside, members will do what they must to protect each other from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks.

The venerable Sony Crackle streaming service is looking for a potential joint-venture partner or buyer for its U.S. operations, even as its Latin American service shuts down in April.

Crackle said it would shutter its Latin American subscription video service this week after concluding the business wasn’t economically viable. That news followed a decision last June to pull the plug on the free, ad-supported service in Canada.

“The decision to close Crackle Latin America is unrelated to the U.S. Crackle business, which is operated independently as an ad-supported Avod service,” Keith Le Goy, Sony Pictures Television’s president of worldwide distribution, wrote in a letter to staff that was obtained by Deadline. “We continue to explore potential strategic partnerships for Crackle in the U.S. and will share more information when possible.”

Corey Stoll is in final negotiations and Billy Magnussen has signed on to join the cast of “The Many Saints of Newark,” the highly anticipated “Sopranos” prequel film, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.

The duo joins Jon Bernthal and Vera Farmiga who were reported on Monday to be joining the cast, though, their character details are being kept under wraps, as well as Alessandro Nivola, who is playing Dickie Moltisanti in the feature film.

It’s unclear what roles Stoll and Magnussen will play in the film. Details for the project are being tightly held, but fans of the series can expect some of the beloved characters to appear in the film.

In the sophomore season, Castle is drawn back to his life as The Punisher after getting caught up in the attempted murder of a young girl. The series will stream on Netflix on Jan. 18.

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for the third season of “One Day At a Time” starring Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, and Isabella Gomez. Sony Crackle has dropped the official trailer for the upcoming Season 2 of The Oath, the cops-and-cartel action series starring Ryan Kwanten, Cory Hardrict and Katrina Law.

The eight all-new episodes will be available on the streaming service Thursday, Feb. 21.

“What keeps the Ravens together may tear them apart,” crows the trailer, giving a hint of what’s in store for the outlaw cop gang in the new season.

The logline: “The sophomore season of the action-packed drama finds the Ravens attempting to free themselves from their debt to the cartel. Themes including redemption and the meaning of family are examined in season two pushing the characters to find a new path, conquer their inner demons and giving them one last chance to reclaim their lives as their own – all while trying to protect the ones they love in the process.

The potential continuation of “NYPD Blue” at ABC is bringing back some familiar faces.

Kim Delaney will reprise her role as Det. Diane Russell in the pilot, while Bill Brochtrup will return in the role of Police Administrative Assistant John Irvin. They join previously announced new cast member Alona Tal, who will play female lead Det. Nicole Lazarus.

Delaney joined the hit cop drama in its second season and stayed with the show until its eighth season. Since appearing on “NYPD Blue,” Delaney had a major role in the series “Army Wives” and has appeared on shows such as “The O.C.,” “The Oath,” and “Chicago Fire.” She is repped by Gersh, Zero Gravity Management, and Link Entertainment.

Brochtrup also joined “NYPD Blue” in Season 2, staying with the show until its final episode. His credits since include “Dexter,” “Shameless,” “Without a Trace,” and a recurring role on the TNT series “Major Crimes.

John Marshall Jones (Smart Guy), Richard Burgi (General Hospital) and Heroes alum Adrian Pasdar have booked recurring roles on Grand Hotel, ABC’s drama series executive produced by Eva Longoria.

Written by Brian Tanen based on a Spanish format, Grand Hotel is a soapy drama set against the backdrop of a Miami Beach hotel, centering on the family who owns the business, the staff who run it and the explosive secrets they hide under the perfect exterior.

Iceland’s Baltasar Kormakur has lined up Ingvar E Sigurdsson and Hera Hilmar to star in his anticipated adaptation of Independent People, Iceland’s most acclaimed novel of the 20th century.

Kormakur has worked with both actors before – Sigurdsson in TV’s Trapped as well as films The Oath, Everest and Jar City; and Hilmar in The Oath.

Kormakur is adapting the script alongside co-writer Lilja Sigurdardottir. He could shoot the project by the end of 2019, or in 2020, depending on his next studio-backed film (yet to be confirmed) that may shoot first.

Fox’s Freddie Mercury biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” overperformed with a rocking $50 million when it debuted in 4,000 theaters. That was enough to dominate in North America over fellow newcomers “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” and “Nobody’s Fool.”

“Bohemian Rhapsody” ranks as the second-best start for a music biopic, following 2015’s “Straight Outta Compton” ($60.2 million). For measure, it also topped the domestic debut of Warner Bros.’ “A Star Is Born,” which launched with a solid $42 million last month.

Rami Malek stars as iconic Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the film, which cost around $50 million to produce. Fresh off premiere screenings at the Toronto and New York film festivals, the coming-of-age pic grossed $249,500 during the weekend for a robust $62,375 per-screen average to lead a full slate of specialty fare.

Exclusive: Christian Camargo (Penny Dreadful) and Hera Hilmar (DaVinci’s Demons) have been cast as series regulars opposite Jason Momoa in Apple’s original drama series See, from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, director Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2) and the scripted drama venture of Peter Chernin’s Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content.

Written by Knight and directed by Lawrence, See is described as an epic, world-building drama set in the future. Comic actor Ike Barinholtz (“Blockers”) writes and directs his first film, “The Oath,” dealing with a family Thanksgiving within a Trump-like world.

“The Oath” refers to a loyalty oath, in which a Trumpian president proposes that each American sign into over the internet. The administration promises no implications to those who do not sign it, but it becomes clear that special privileges will be applied to the signers. This begins to wear on Chris (Ike Barinholtz), a family man and ultra-progressive who preaches against the Oath. As each of his friends and family sign up, he begins to feel more distant from the America he knows. When Thanksgiving comes along, all these new points of view will be tested at a family dinner.
