The characters are uncharismatic, the voice acting is boring and the plot is incredibly generic.
Playing these recent Need For Speed games makes me question if I really have the need for speed. If they keep making games like these, not only I won't have the need for speed, but I'll also demand EA to pay me back.

I do understand that it is not the perfect game, but I really like it. I think the graphics are pretty nice and the soundtrack is good. I hope you can understand what I mean. I play it all the time and I've played it nearly 500 hours in total. Please don't always trash on this game. 😔

Oh boy, EA are at it again. I grew up playing and loving the need for speed underground series, so I was excited to get my hands on the reboot of the series. Well, some things are better left untouched. This game is literally trash. Boring gameplay, no driving wheel support (in a racing game!!!), limited car choices, terrible acting, and cringe-worthy dialogue. And of course, it isnt an EA game without lootboxes, and this game is littered with it. A genuinely un-fun experience that left me feeling ripped off, and the obnoxious lootbox system added insult to injury which left my blood boiling. After mass effect: andromeda, star wars: gamblefront 2, and this atrocious title, I will be actively boycotting EA.

I've enjoyed playing this game on my PS4 Pro (I didn't find the page of this game on PS4 on IMDB...) with good graphics, great gameplay.
However, even if the storyline is quite good in the beginning, I didn't like or didn't understand the end.
I've played at it thanks to PSPlus. :)

Now I'm not a huge gamer, I don't play a lot but I do enough to know what I'm playing a seemingly unfinished game.
Need for Speed: Payback is just simply not good.
This features a control system that is so fundamentally broken that the races get irritating to play. If you lightly turn the joy stick, the whole damn car just goes berserk and all of the sudden you're in last place and there's no way in hell you'll make it back up.
Need for Speed: Rivals is a game I very much enjoy, but my biggest problem with it is that it doesn't feature a story. It's just race, beat the cops, beat a timer, or be a cop and... stop racers. It got very boring and very repetitive after a while but one thing is for certain- It contains some of the best animation and graphics I have ever seen in my life and it really captures how good it feels to drive fast. With Payback, it actually does feature a story... a very boring and bland and poorly written story, but it's animation is a major step down from Rivals, and that one came out three years before this one. The animation isn't great but it's voice acting.... The voice acting in this game is some of the worst I've ever heard. The dialogue is terrible as well.
The game mechanics are borderline broke and frustrating, the story is cliche and poorly written, and the graphics are a major step down.

There's very little difference between this and 2015. Besides the day time there's not many new cars in this car game. Story is just as cringy. EA just wanted to make some more money so they copied the last game with minor changes and bumped up the microtransactions.

Interesting story. Well, interesting enough for a racing game. It has mediocre car mechanics at best. Nothing new for a NFS game but that was never a surprise.
They have side missions too. Though I wouldn't call them that since you have to play them in order to actually get to play the main mission. I wouldn't care if I have to play every mission since I like to complete my game but in this case the side missions are so repetitive it ruins every good quality of this game. So you have this amazing mission with full adrenaline and expensive animation scenes and then you have like 100x of side missions where the goal is mostly the same and the animation looks like as if EA suddenly went for a low budget racing game from an Indie developer.
This probably shouldn't be a surprise for anyone but tuning your car looks like a casino. You have those colorful cards that drop randomly. You will unfortunately have to collect those, otherwise your car will be inferior towards other racing cars.
