The graffiti covered structure that the group sit and talk in while drinking can be found at 10100 3 T Road Northeast, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110. It can also be seen much clearer in Silence in the Aftermath (2018) and October Scout (2018) two short films from another Washington native, writer/director Travis Darkow. Bobby Roe, the writer/director of The Houses October Built (2014) also lives in Washington.
The character Bobby wears a Stephen King Rules t-shirt just like the one worn by Sean Crenshaw in the classic The Monster Squad (1987)
There's a scene in the movie around the 49 minute mark in the van where they say the particular haunt they're about to visit is "like a video game"... This leads to a brief discussion where the infamous "Konami Code" is mentioned. First saying "UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT A B?" which is then "corrected" by someone else in the van who says "UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT A B A B SELECT START....99 lives dude, you're gonna need them". Both are incorrect...as well as the amount of lives given. The CORRECT Konami Code is "UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A" then either "Start" if playing 1 Player, or "Select Start" for 2 Players. This would grant the player(s) 30 lives...not 99. The code was made famous in 1980's NES era giving players 30 lives in the Konami classic shooter, "Contra". It also works in several later Konami titles doing various things as an homage to the original - which, every kid from that time probably has memorized for life! It has appeared as Easter Eggs in various games over the last 30+ years and even some websites...(including Facebook. Not sure if this still works there, but at one point it did a little something special when entered.)
