Damascena

Obvious, it is a PR movie. The details , the too pink aspects, the heroic fight and the dream from childhood becoming truth are good proofs. But, in same measure, it represents an useful portrait of Bulgarian transition from communism to a sort of democracy. For a Romanian, like me, maybe for a Russian, Ukrainian , it is the main virtue. Not the portrait of a businessman in the domain of rose oil, but truths so, so familiar are the virtue of a film with, in essence, one sin - it is too long. So, portrait of a contemporary hero. Motivational and ...heroic, fake poetic but decent.
