I had arrived late on the Saturday night for SHOCK STOCK 2017, last month, as the convention floor was just closing. But was fortunate enough to run into Carlos Henriques and Phil Pattison, who had just premiered their new short film, "Human Cattle," at our horror convention. I'm responsible for viewing, rating and judging every film submitted to Shock Stock Film Festival. I watch each and every film, myself, beginning to end, no matter how bad or good it is and I rate it accordingly with the most honest opinion I can give. This was one of those rare occasions where I didn't get the chance to see the film in advance. Phil then asked me if I wanted to see it. I said, "For sure." I stood there for 10 minutes, spellbound! It was great! There was more gore, action and adventure in that 10 minute short then I've seen in some feature length horror films. Acting was well done. Gore scenes were shot and cut effectively, and edited, flawlessly. I highly recommend this horror short, if you ever get the chance to see it. In my opinion this was, by far, the best horror submission entered into Shock Stock, this year. I'm really excited to see what these guys come up with next!
