I had high hopes for this since it was filmed in Virginia where I grew up. This is so bad, the acting is bad, the filming is so bad, and even the editing is so bad. It showed up on Tubi which plays a good amount of religious created movies. I've seen a lot of LDS-produced movies show up that are way better than this movie.
The actress playing Bethany is supposed to be a world-weary top secret handler. She barely looks old enough to be out of high school. The female playing the Dr Amy looks even younger and a medical doctor even if a vet is most likely late 20s. The best actor so far is the guy who played the Stephens Mill town mayor. The plots holes are so obvious, you know immediately that the mayor's handler Karl is a bad guy. The The stereotypes are so bad, too. The real estate man's ex wife, the real estate man himself with his beer belly and drinking alcohol, you know he's definitely going to die.
The editing is so bad, like the "car" that was in the river at the beginning. It's such an obviously post-production add on. The car was in sharp focus where as the rest of the scene was not. Sheriff Foreman and his deputy had obviously fake badges and even the patches on the left arm are barely tacked on. A lot of the film has the bad of the head as the camera is watching someone talking. It's done so often it's annoying.
The movie finally ended and like another review said, it left the viewer going "Huh?" Well that's 2 hours I can't get back. I really did have high hopes for it.
I understand that some Christians are so desperate for movies to share with their families but at least select something that well done, don't be so desperate for something like this. This movie isn't as awful as "Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas" at least this movie tried.
It's sad when the hedgehog is the best part of the movie.
