Mr. Neighbor's House is a (currently) 2 part dark comedy special that focuses on the inner monologue and escapist fantasies of the titular Mr. Neighbor. While the premise of the specials aren't especially original, the execution, cinematography, and narrative choices feel charming in their own twisted way. I personally hope to see a third installment to see just how Mr. Neighbor's story finishes.
This show is hard to describe, but I'm glad it exists. I just watched it for the first time and I'm really creeped out- in a good way. It's like a nightmare in the style of a children's show. It's also kind of sweet and sad because of the main character's trauma. This isn't for everyone but seems like a cult classic. It's not just some parody of a show like Mr. Roger's. It's really its own thing.
The details are interesting, like changing from stage lights to natural lighting when the story becomes darker and a little more realistic, and how it goes outside the typical boundaries of a tv show. I was surprised to see it only has two episodes. It seems like the kind of thing that is a lot better than it gets credit for.

Strange, difficult to understand and a blatant PeeWee ripoff. Why does Adult Swim keep making crap like this. Bring back Aquateen Hunger Force, Super Jail and those shows that made you want to watch Adult Swim on Sunday night.
Here's an idea, how about bringing "Off The Air" to midnight instead of 4am in the morning?
Make Adult Swim fun again!
