This show has nice aesthetics, pretty people, glamour, expensive, shiny stuff all around, rich expensive look of everyone and everything. How can you not look at it? It has also some naive, fairytale settings, dream jobs for 20 something girls, beautiful apartments in NY, luxurious clothes, dream boss who is such goody-two-shoes it's totally impossible, girlfriends forever and ever, super busy very young women who work long hours yet always look incredibly polished, with perfect styling, make up and hair... It's nice to look at and get lost in it like in most fairytales, but that's not life.
Sorry to disappoint every young woman but this is not real life. If someone can relate to these girls, then you are very lucky person, my friend. Yes, they try to incorporate some serious topic but it seems that's just to show how serious and woke they are, as those topics are very quickly and painlessly solved and glossed over. Again, not real life.
Girls are cute, and have nice chemistry, but boy I can't relate to any of them. They are sometimes so reckless but they always manage to get out without any issues.
Finally, as a liberal and feminist, I can say there is woke, and there is too woke. This show tries too hard to be super-woke. Even there it fails as so many issues are just covered with sparkles and glossed over. And some are overblown. So, this woman slept with guy because she felt "obligated" to do so after one date with him? Without saying "no", because she felt "pressured" into that and we get it: no one should be pressured to do anything they don't want to. But this happens to men too, it happens to all people sometimes, not always related to sex. So, they all attacked the guy who was obviously clueless and thought he just had successful date with girl who likes him, almost fired him and made hi unemployable, and 3 seasons later, that is still an issue? But I noticed that these 3 girls are no better than him. Not to mention Jane, who for the sake of article, puts her sources in real danger, promising them she will "protect" them. How?? I mean, do you even have a plan?
Please, to all women, this is a fairytale and just enjoy a view and don't try to live like this, you will fail.
